Do not accept HP ink cartridge

My F4180 all-in-one printer will not accept a new HP ink cartridge. I only use HP cartridges. The computer gives me the message that my cartridge is defective or incompatible with my printer.

Clara_B wrote: Hi, ptr613, 5520 PS did you get an error saying something like the cartridges of the older generation?

Hi Clara_B thank you for your message. No, the message, Word for Word, was ' the printer is in the next error state: ink cartridges HP no approved. " He couldn't be a cartridge older generation it was only a month or two old, and had worked perfectly in my original HP5520 printer. Contacts look clean and sparkling. Printed on the label expiry date is 2014/11. In any case my previous post was written in a moment of intense frustration. The printer works fine now with the new cartridge except that he often gives a "paper" message even when the bin is full. Then I have to pull the paper and press return and it works again for a while. I can live with that. But still - a printer Photosmart with print, scan, copy, and wi - fi, all for $69 - how good is it?

  • V313w - printer does not accept refilled ink cartridges

I added ink to my black cartridge in series 21. When I try to print I get a message: "your black ink can be below the level required for quality printing" it gives two options: "I now replaced my ink cartridges and want to continue to print" or "I want to print using only color ink. If I choose the first option nothing happens and the same window opens again. Is it possible to replace the printer and do accept and print with the black ink cartridge refilled? Thank you.

This limitation has been annoys me because I bought this printer 3 years ago. I now have a sucessful "solution of workaround for the error message"will not print until the cartridge is changed". You will finally get this message on the printer screen if you keep printing with a low ink cartridge, or THINK that the printer is low. That is to say the number of 'fuse' for the cartridge was triggered and he will recognize is no longer as usable cartridge. This is just a ploy to make you buy ink and prevent you re-charging of your cartridge, under the guise of "we don't want you to compramise print in ink of inferior quality. As if you don't know if the print quality was deteriorating.

Workaround: replace the cartridge and print a few pages. THEN go into the Printers page PROPERTIES and chose the "ADVANCED" tab, then click on the button "PRINT PROCESSOR". Change the print processor FROM: "Dell V313" to "WinPrint". Then change the Data Type defaults to: "RAW [FF Auto]. Click SAVE. This derivation of the Dell software and send jobs directly to the printer, bypassing the "fuse". And he does a good job of keeping the original formatting of the document. I used this summer for more than a year on the SAME black cartridge I have re-filled several times with success. Once in a blue moon - the formatting is not correct. You can change the initial setup for this doc-1, then the put parameters updated the as long as you do NOT have the error "will not print until the cartridge is changed' in the printer window. Even if you do not the error 'not print', making the necessary changes for printing proprties will allow the printer.

I wonder if Dell will leave this post to the top?

I've done various resets and now to restore the alos an OOB (out of the box), does not help. My weighs 40g 940XL cartridge so I know what it it not empty. I have read a lot about the problems of cartridge maggenta but found no solution. The printer is fine, but this problem is driving me crazy! I have always recommended HP printers and have owned quite a few over the years,

    No problem, I understand.

I think that could happen is that the oval pin mechanism comes into contact with food has become defective over time. Its supposed to sink to bottom when feeding is complete (on inserting). Over time as the ink level runs the mechanism will expand gradually until you reach full extension on what an ink level alert is triggered. What might happen in your case, is that the mechanism is not entirely depressing even when the new full provision is inserted. This would explain why to apply the tape inside the oval window on the supply allows the new offer be detected. Unfortunately, the fix for this would be to have the machine. If you think it's something you want to do here is a link where you can check the warranty status of the printer and based on this status, you will be presented with relevant options

With regard to the branch point the device directly into the wall socket, sometimes for some questions (usually power up/on) the resolution can be plug directly into the wall in the routing through a power bar or surge protector can induce weak variations of the voltage applied to the unit. However, this should not be a factor in the problem you are experiencing, so there should not be any need for you to change your current configuration.

More sorry that you are having a problem with ink level detection on your device. Please post back with other questions.

  • I can't go to my printer. It will not recognize the ink cartridges are full!

My epson 7400 has not been used for 6 months. I cleaned and aligned the nozzles and it used 2 full cartridges. I installed new ink cartridges, and he says they are empty. Now none of the buttons work, it does not seem to recognize all commands. What should I do?

    Hello

    Turn the printer off

Unplug the printer from the computer and the wall outlet

    Reinstall the cartridges

Support all the ink cartridges until they snap into place to make sure that they are well housed

Close the cartridge cover and push it down until it snaps

    Close the scanner

Press on the Stop button to start loading of ink. It takes about 2 minutes.

When the the light stops flashing and remains on, the ink load is complete

    Caution:

Never turn off the Epson Stylus CX while ink is in charge or you'll be wasting ink.

If the ink light flashes, press on the Stop button and lower all the cartridges safely

    Manually clean the print heads

Plug the printer into the wall outlet and the computer.  Turn it on and try printing again.

I got this printer from the Australia to the United Kingdom.  I check the site of hp UK for correct ink cartridges replace who was exhausted.  I bought a HP 363 ink cartridge, such as recommended.

On installing the cartridge of the printer said it is not configured for this cartridge and it accepts 02 ink cartridges.  These are not readily available in the United Kingdom.

Why are there different cartridges for the same printer model in different countries?

Re-configure the printer to accept the 363 cartridges available in the United Kingdom?

    Yes it is.

The printer accepts the UK cartridges you need a HP representative who will guide you through a specific regionalization process.

  • Photosmart B010 black ink cartridge not working not not after replacing

I print color but not black after the replacement of the cartridge. What can I do?

    Hi glennbelgium,

I have linked a document with good to take troubleshooting steps.  Click here  The name of this document is not exactly on the point, but the steps are on point.  I could start by checking that you do not have low ink cartridges and replace those who are weak.  When you get to the step to clean the printhead , I'd do this process 2 or 3 times if necessary.

Let me know how it goes.

    Good luck!

  • OfficeJet HP 5510 all-in-One - door locked - ink cartridge does not open.

Windows XP Service Pak 3, HP 5510 Officejet, printer, USB connection.

Won't let me open the ink cartridge door.  So, I can not install new ink cartridges.   It started about 3 weeks after I deleted some other software.   When I touch the door to open it, I get this flashing Error Message - "Door open, door close print cartridge."   (but door is not open, it is locked closed).   .   Printer will print documents correct, my problem is that I can't load new ink cartridges.  I could probably force and break on it to open it, but am afraid my printer does not work after that.  I love it and want to continue using it.

Three times, on different occasions, I crossed the steps on your website to reset the printer.  They did not solve it.  I opened the back of the printer and looked for any paper jams and tips or debri.   I took can air and exploded all over where I could, but nothing came out.  I don't have a paper jam, when this started.

Is there a code pin or something to get out, the door somewhere?

If I force rotating door and breaks, the printer works?

Problem started on December 14, 2010.

    Thank you

    Hello Oldlady10,

The 5510 JO has a Center door that goes through the top on both sides. It is possible that the door warped a bit in the middle and create a barrier that will not the door opens without a lot of strength.

Solution: Hold the door with both hands as you open the door, then take both thumbs and press down on the top of the door to repel the distorted area and then lift the pen access door.

Is there a way to make the printer accepts the reloaded cartridges?

You receive messages or error codes?

It is a hardware problem. It seems that some printer settings must be modified to get the cartridge that is recognized by the printer.

    Hi joymossmiller1,

Since you bought the cartridge hp shopping that I recommend that you only click on the link at the top of this page titled "Ink & toner.  Go ahead and find your cartridge and put in your cart.

You will then see an option at the bottom of the page with a photo of a young woman with a helmet on.  You can click this help and either chat or ask for a phone call.

HP.shopping should be able to arrange a refund or Exchange.

What Bob was careful not to say is this: using rerurbished of your printer ink can damage over time.  It is not something "HP".  It's one thing to the printer.  HP did not do that to you to make you buy HP ink cartridges.  You should be able to use any ink of high quality for your printer.

It is true that HP printers can go a bit over edge into the little "protect themselves".  I suspect the printers used to accept refurbished ink cartridges and printers broke.  HP has been blamed for the printers broken; That is why the change.  (I have no evidence of that, it's just a hint: Why put extra in a printer electronics unless it is necessary?) [snip]

It is certainly true that a cartrdige defective reman that may damage the printer, often because of the ink dripping in the mechanism due to a bad charge.  The printer as a result of defective third cartrdiges is not covered by the HP warranty.

It is not true that HP rejects cartrdiges simply because they are reloaded/refurbished.  In general, there is not an ID "this cartridge is rebuilt" on one of the reloaded cartridges.  The printer has several checks it does for a cartrdige when inserted to ensure that it is appropriate for the printer.  These controls may include a combination of the following:

    • Read the electric cartridge ID to ensure that it is the type in the appropriate slot and correct cartrdige.
    • Check the electrical connectivity of the control signals for not too many are open or shorted.
    • Check the electrical parameters of temperature control circuit.
    • Check the expiry date of the ink.  This is done only a very few models, usually those who use the cartrdiges 02 series where ancient ink can cause damage to the permanent print head.

The tests are not to prevent reman cartrdiges, same tests are run on the HP cartridges and cartridges that do not will be rejected by the original HP printer or remans.

HP has a page about it here.

    Hello

You must return the printer to the retailer.

The printer include setup of cartridges in its original box, those who are required to configure the printer for the first time and can be purchased separately, so must be provided in the box.

    Kind regards

  • Photosmart wireless B109n-z showing "ink cartridges above appear to be missing or damaged.

Hello, I have a problem with my photosmart printer (wirelless B109n-z) now (on Windows 7) and I could do with some advice. He started by printing not really properly-there were only a few extremely weak lines, so I opened the lid and makes sure that the ink cartridges were properly-they came out and put in the new - but then the error message came that the cyan ink cartridge is missing or damaged. As it was low on ink anyway I replaced it with a new one but the message was still there. I went through all the steps on the site of HP to address the problem, but it is always the same and have never used a not genuine HP ink cartridge. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Jen

If you did not start the steps in this document it.   In step four parts 11 and 12, there are four fingers touch by cartridge.  Make sure that none of these electrical contacts are misaligned, if we're folded its place gently back in its place.  (Compare contacts faulty cyan with those on the cartridges adjacent as described in this post.)
