How can I have the address bar also be the search bar?
How can I do in firefox address bar being the same as Chrome - it acts as the area of research as well as the address box
I hate having to hit tab or use my mouse to move to the search bar
Chrome: I love how just type anything and just hit return - it will do a search using your search engine
YES: I know that if you add ' google: "all that you want to search, then the same behavior is created
But having to type 7 characters is a little too much for me!
Y at - it a software plugin that modifies the behavior?
I'll be honest, because of this unique feature, I use Chrome instead of Firefox - I always use Firefox, 10% of the time - but it's because of other reasons

When I use keywords in the address bar, I am directed to a page instead of results.
I always use (its set to Google) keyword search bar, but sometimes, instead of search results, I am sent to directly to a page based on what is most like my keywords. Is there a way to stop this, so I get a list of search results?

How to address bar to go directly to the site addressed and not search
I use the address bar to go directly to the sites. Yahoo interprets my input as a search request and delivers the same disorder of the options that would provide a search bar. I want the address bar to connect only on the site for which I type in the address. If I type in the address in cannot be found, what I want is a notification of this fact.
If AT & T disable Yahoo results for results 'server not found', you can use Google Public DNS or any other DNS provider that does not provide search results.

How to prevent access to a Page directly from the address bar
We have an obligation to force the user to go through a pre-defined page navigation. In other words, we want then to go through Page 1, and control over this page (only), to go the Page 2 and etc.
We do not want to allow the user to manipulate the URL in the address bar to go directly to Page 2. If they try, ideally, we would like to give them and error and send them to the previous page.
Anyone have any ideas on how best to do this?
Thank you

Enable Session State protection, set the property to Access Page Protection for the page 2 of no URL accessand navigate using logic from page 1 when the control is enabled.

I checked the Navigation bar under view, but in Mozilla Help, nothing comes under the address bar or the other than blurbs address bar on how much it is great. But I did not and I'd like to get it back. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm on a Mac with the latest 10.8.3 Firefox updates are installed.
Normally, the address bar is the most important thing on the Navigation toolbar. If you can't find it is not used in the Customize dialog box (where you can drag it onto the toolbar), you can reset your toolbars to their default controls using the button "restore default".

How is it that, in these new versions of Firefox (I have 21.0), when I opened a link that I recorded, it does NOT display the URL in the bar of addresses?
I can't drag and drop the link in an email, and I don't see the actual address that I'm connected to for reference OR for security reasons. Why is - this has changed?
It becomes necessary to reveal the properties of the URL link that I saved, by using the 'Properties' window, then copy and paste the URL in the address bar of Firefox, until I can do something with it.
I had the same problem. Looked at all the addons and extensions referred to in the conversation between philipp and dadmr. All extensions and plugins off and on again with each shot. Problem has been resolved by disabling app 1.0.85 Goodshop and RealDownloader 1.3.2.28. It may be that these versions were outdated, but were postponed during the upgrade from previous versions of Firefox. I hope this helps.

The address bar does not appear. How it to appear?
- If the menu bar is hidden, press in and hold the ALT key, this should make the convocation of Menu bar. Make sure you have the Navigation tools and other visible toolbars toolbar: view > toolbars.
- If items are missing then see if you can find them in the view > toolbars > customize window.
- If you see the item in the window customize then bring her back in the window, customize the Navigation toolbar.
- If you do not see this item then click Restore default set in the view > toolbars > customize window.

Hi markehrmann,
I'll try from Firefox Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode. If you do not have the issue so that all your modules, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the guide to troubleshooting Extensions and themes and article troubleshooting issues with plugins like Flash or Java to solve common Firefox problems as well.
Hope this helps!

I was able to hit just enter on websites in the drop down, before, but now it does not work. I tried the upgrade to FF4 thinking that it can solve my problem but not yet, I have to use the arrow at the end of the address bar to run to the page.
If this does not work properly in mode without failure, then disable all extensions and then try to find out who is the cause by allowing both the problem reappears.

What happened to the button on the left end of the address bar which allow you to see the pages you had been so that you don't have to click the back button several times? You can look at the drop down window of pages and just choose whatever you want. I use it all the time and it is not on FF4. I want to go back to the old FF.
If you right click on your back button, or click and hold down the mouse button, it will display the list. (I prefer a click-right, because sometimes my fingers slide when I try to click and hold)
