do not remember the password of hotmail

A month ago, when I started with firefox, firefox asked me to remind password of hotmail. Now, firefox doesn't remember password for hotmail and don't ask me. We have 3 hotmail accounts, I've already checked in the extra menu and options. Firefox is asked to remember paswords, without exception for hotmail.

Hotmail Windows Live (live.com) uses JavaScript to generate the login form and the Firefox password manager does not work in these situations, so you can't store the name and the password in the password manager and let Firefox fill. You can only use save form data (Tools > Options > privacy) to remember the user name.

Do you hear the names and passwords in the password manager or do you mean that you are connected is no longer on to (remember to) Web sites after the closing and restarting Firefox?

There is a difference between remembering the name and the password in the password manager and a check box "remember me" on a web page.

The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and which is sent to the server.

If that "remember me" cookie is deleted or is corrupted or is not send to the server, then the server remember that you and you must connect once again.

  • Do not remember the password for installation...

I have connected to Adobe, but don't remember my password to install. What do I do?

Software Adobe do not require a password to install.  If you try to install and are asked a password is probably the security of your machine which you are asked for password.

  • I can't connect to Windows XP because I do not remember the password, I never asked before.

When I turned on the computer using Windows XP, Microsoft Windows blue screen opens, tells me to click on my user name (that was) and then type my password.  I tried all the passwords I can think of, and none works.  Microsoft technical support shows a video on how to change my password, but the s I see does not allow me to do what says the video.  I changed my password to Microsoft on my other computer using Windows 7, but this password no longer works.

If you are using XP Home Edition, the built-in Administrator account probably doesn't have a defined password. You can start in safe mode, where this account will be selectable when connecting.

To start in safe mode, keep hitting F8 twice a second after turning on the PC until you get the start menu where safe mode is selectable by the up/down arrow keys, and then press ENTER.

If you are using XP Professional, try to connect using the built-in Administrator account. You don't need to do it in safe mode (although you can if you wish). If your normal login screen is a display of the user symbol and hit ctrl-alt-del twice to get to login to text entry. Type administrator as the user name and try a blank password.

Once logged in as administrator, you should be able to change the passwords for any account.

  • Firefox 4 does not take into account of my "do not remember the password setting" for netflix only website and connect automatically. Any help on this? Thank you.

Under Tools settings, remember passwords, there exception to remember do not sign of netflix in, but every time I come back, even if I closed and reopened firefox, it connects me always. I unchecked remember passwords nothing helps. However, netflix seems to be the site only problem for this.
    Running windows 7, 64 b, firefox 4.01

What you did to close all tabs with the Netflix site on it if before closing Firefox?

Otherwise restore session puts the cookies and they are still there since the previous session.

You should also let the cookies expire when Firefox is closed.

Saved passwords are important if there is a password on the page form and that the form is filled automatically or after typing the first letters of the name.

What to do if you forget your Windows password

If you are not on a domain (most of the individuals are not on a domain), you can reset your password by using a reset disk of password or by using an administrator account.

  • On one site, Mozilla Firefox does not remember my password, but Internet Explorer doesn't.

Yesterday, I accessed my Bank Web site. I entered the account #, then the password. I got an error message on the password, even though I was pretty sure that the password is correct. I clicked on 'do not remember the password' and received the same password I had entered. I was really puzzled, but tried again. It still does not work. I then tried Internet Explorer after the advice of my Bank rep. I created a new password on Internet Explorer and managed to get the law through the Web site. Later, I tried Mozilla Firefox with the original password. Yet once again, the password was not accepted, but when I asked to have access to the correct password, they gave me the new password I was entered on Internet Explorer. I am very confused. Help, please!

    Hi Mez1115,

Once you have changed your password, the OLD password is no longer valid. You must use the NEW password to access your account, regardless of the browser you use.

Many issues of the site can be caused by corrupted cookies or cache. To try to solve these problems, the first step is to clear cookies and cache.
Note: This will be you temporarily disconnect all sites, you're connected to.
To clear the cache and cookies to do the following:

    2. Under "Time range to clear", select "all".
    3. Now, click the arrow next to details to toggle the active details list.
    4. In the list of details, see the Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything.
    5. Now click the clear now button.

  • Firefox application to remember the passwords on most sites, but not on all. I tried everything suggested in Firefox Help, but the problem persists.

On three of my sites regularly visited, Firefox does not ask to remember my password, so I have to enter each time. On most other sites I visit, he asked and remember the password. I went through all the steps as starting Firefox in safe mode, troubleshooting extensions and modules, etc., but these sites will not be still retain or ask me to remember the password. What else can I try?

Hello, Web sites can define that the browser should not record passwords in their source code, see usernames and passwords are not saved

you could use an addon like this to work around these restrictions: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/remember-passwords

  • New computer, new Firefox install, but it will not be asked to remember the passwords?

New computer, Dell XPS 17 laptop computer, Windows 7 64 bit, downloaded the latest Firefox (new v12.0), but he will not be asked to remember the passwords? This is one of the big reasons able to use Firefox, is there something that needs to be defined? Also disgusted that Windows Easy Transfer from your old computer, that would have been copied 'everything' is not copied my Firefox stuff on?

    Here's what I suggest:

On your old computer, open help > troubleshooting information and then on the button that says either the folder containing (pre 12 Firefox) or view folder (Firefox 12). It's your active profile, and you must copy all the content of this file on a USB flash drive or another your favorite type of media.

On your new computer, close Firefox and starts in the Profile Manager, as described in the management profiles. Create a new blank profile. After Firefox starts upward in this profile, see help > troubleshooting information > view folder. Leave this window open and restart Firefox.

Now completely erase this profile folder and dump all of your old profile in folder. Restart Firefox and you should have as close a replica as possible to your old configuration.

    A little luck?

  • Firefox does not attempt to remember the passwords even if I click the "Remember" button and I didn't erase the passwords etc. memory of passwords

Security is set to "remember passwords" and privacy settings does NOT erase passwords. When I go to connect to a site of the bubble 'Remember password' is displayed, but does nothing when I click on "Save password". He hang around for a few seconds then disappears. When I come back on the Firefox site does not enter my username and password but still asking if I want to remember the password.

If starting in safe mode fix then try this:

It is possible that there is a problem with key3db and signons.sqlite files that store the encrypted names and passwords in Firefox.

Rename signons3.txt and signons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder.

You can add .old files (key3.db.old and signons.sqlite.old) names or move them to another folder to make it possible to cancel the action.

You must define a new master password after renaming or removing the signons3.txt and all the currently saved passwords are lost.

If that worked, then you can delete the renamed files that are no longer needed.

  • Is there a way to get Firefox to remember the password on a site that was chosen as "never" or "not now".

Remember passwords works OK for a new site. I have been using a different password manager and did not want Firefox to remember passwords, but now with sync option would get Firefox to remember passwords once connections, I marked "never" or "not now".

If you chose 'not now' it should ask you every time. The only time where it is not supposed to ask is if he did not remember a password, or you have already told him 'never '.

Despite everything, go to tools-> Options (or editing-> Preferences if you do not see 'Options' from the Tools menu) click the 'Security' tab, and then search for the [Exceptions] button and click it. You will see the list of sites you said FF never to remember a password. Select the one you want, or all of them, and then click the [Remove] button.

Revisit the site, and when you enter the password and press enter or click to connect, it should encourage them to remember this password.
