    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    Data recovery, if/before you reinstall:
    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.
    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.
    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:
    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html
    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

    Download the Vista software from the link above.

    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.

    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.

    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.

    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

    See you soon.

  • Tecra 9000 - no display on the LCD screen when you turn on

    I recently got a Tecra 9000 for cheap on eBay. I am experienced with the construction and repair of computers, but not so with laptops.

    The problem with this laptop, it's that do not display on the LCD screen when you turn on. It was just black, no backlight, nothing. I took the laptop all share, found no obvious problem. I had to turn it on and the screen lights up a few times trying to figure out the problem. Would it be a bad connection? Or something else?

    After getting it to start work, I'll try to start to put it back together and it stopped working again. I haven't not been able to reduce it to know if it's a bad connection or a card problem.

    Someone at - it suggestions? This is a problem for others here?

    As you describe the issue, I think it is somehow a bad connection or a damaged cable, because it does not work once you have disassembled the screen.
    Maybe you need to check all the cables, leading motherboard to the LCD and take a close look, maybe for a few scratches or strong curvature.

  • delay after typing my password with the message: "preparing your desktop" displayed on the login screen

    I use Windows Vista for about 3 years now, it has been hurt on the first day.  However, it is the biggest problem I've ever known.

    My PC is currently the entire installation, which means that all the software, drivers and personal settings are applied to the way I would like it. But lately, I have had opportunities indicate that loggin, there was a long delay, after typing my password with the message: "preparing your desktop" displayed on the login screen (the PC was night shotdown, not having changed anything to the system), then I am connected to a desktop where I lost all my custom settings : wallpapers, plans, location of the updated table on the page icon, were all gone as if I start Windows for the first time, and every program I tried to run from there thought while they started upward for the first time.

    My office, I know, has completely disappeared.   How can I get it back?  Where at - it go?

    I am a school teacher and my student missions, etc. are in the files on the desktop.

  • How do you keep your Microsoft Account e-mail address is more displayed on the login screen of Windows 8?

    I do not have my e-mail address Microsoft Account displayed on the login screen of Windows 8, when I have my local account linked to my account from Microsoft. If I give a presentation I don't want viewers to see my e-mail address, and also for security reasons I would like to remove. Is it possible to do this? Thank you!

    You can't, it belongs to start cold initial process.

    However, you can stop the process of re - open a session after a period of inactivity or sleep by turning off the function of password via Power Options in Control Panel.

  • The start screen is displayed on the external screen

    Hi guys,.

    Recently, I have a Thinkpad L540 and it is pretty cool.

    But I had a problem when the laptop starts when a VGA is plugged, the splash screen (the screen just after, when the portable lights) is always displayed on the external screen (projector).

    I already checked the BIOS and it is set to "Thinkpad LCD".

    I don't know if it will be fixed with a BIOS update.

    Thanks for your help.

    Sincerely,

    Zero1519

    Welcome to the forum!

    What you see, it's quite normal and the way it has always been on ThinkPad.

    Don't expect an update of the BIOS to "fix".

  • Qosmio G20 - could not get the video to display on the LCD screen

    I have a laptop Toshiba Qosmio G20, running Windows XP MCE.

    The DVD player on board isn't sounds very well so I thought I would plug an external DVD drive to expand its use. After a lot of internet research, I finally found how to do this. Here's my setup.

    Using the monitor port I used the adapter 3 RCA jacks. (There is no S-video on the DVD drive and an adapter did not work). I finally discovered that in order to get the image on the screen, I have to use Fn + 4. Now, here's where I'm having the problem. I can't get the video to display on my external LCD. FN + 5 didn't do. The monitor is an I - inc AH191D and is connected by VGA cable. There is no driver other than the one for the VISTA operating system... That is why it is not anywhere in the Device Manager.
    Here are the settings I use in order to have all that shows on my desk, shows on the monitor.

    In Control Panel open to the screen. Properties
    Number chosen 1 - multiple monitors GeForce Go6600 video card...
    Advanced under
    the GeForce G06600 tab,
    nViewDisplay Mode: clone 1 a 1 b
    The main screen: digital flat screen
    Secondary display: AH191

    I also tried using the properties of controls on Toshiba. He says under TV output TV output but gives options of the program, but I don't know what I would use. Any ideas out there?

    Wait I'm confused, if you try to send the output of your external DVD drive in the laptop, and then display the image on an external monitor attached to laptop?

    If you use the DVD player on your laptop, it will be good quality S-video as a signal of low resolution.

    Is there something wrong with the DVD player?

    If it's just the DVD software you don't like, you can download other DVD players. PowerDVD is excellent, its better than WinDVD and other players in my opinion.

  • Windows Live Mail - not all received emails are displayed in the Inbox

    I get emails in Windows Live mail. I do not see some of them in my Inbox but they shows in Quickview unread. When I read one, it does not appear in Quickview no read more (I expect) but I do not see any Inbox in Quickview and its still not in my Inbox. If I do a search in Live Mail it does not appear, but if I search using the search for Windows 7 it finds and displays the path as being in the Inbox. Any ideas?

    While in the Inbox: view | Current view. Make sure Show all Messages is checked and nothing else. If this does not resolve the problem, please ask the Windows Live Mail Forums

  • The computer is not displayed in the home screen more

    I got a program called Tune Up Utilities 2011 installed on this computer, but I uninstalled it because it was too expensive. Since then, the Welcome screen does not appear on the computer. I'm upset, because it showed 3 different users who have access to this computer. What could have happened. Also, when I look in regedit in the software, I see a program bundled with Tune Up Utilities 2011 I also uninstalled and it's still in the registry. How is it? Can I just delete these entries? What is dangerouse to do?

    My office does not appear my picture on the entire screen. I tried to move it through its expansion, but it doesn't let me do.

    Right-click in the middle of your desktop

    A menu will appear > click Properties
    A window opens
    Select the Desktop tab
    This should give you options on how you want the photo positioned, tiles, centered and stretched.
    You want to stretch the image so that it covers the entire screen.

  • I can not run any .bat and cannot open the cmd prompt

    I can't run the files .bat and most horrible thing I've ever met is a missing cmd.exe. It's starts with me trying to play Assault Cube, which must run on a .bat instead of .exe like other games. But whenever I try to open a batch file, it keeps gives an error "Windowscannot find"file to the .bat file (directory)". Make sure you typed the name correctly and try again. "Each. Time.

    So, as everyone will do, they search the Internet. I would like to do is short.
    A virus? No, my laptop is clean after scanning with Malwarebytes. You have to open as an Admin? Yes, but I got an error saying "this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action." Please install a program or, if such is already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel'.» Tried to do? Well I think that it is impossible for the command prompt to be included in the default values list. I tried open the command prompt by typing "cmd" and pressing on enter the Start Menu? So many times I've tried, but it's endless. Whenever I do this, the command prompt displays upward and 0.5 seconds later, it's farm/accidents/output by itself. Now 0.1 second.
    So, I thought on this subject and I typed in the start 'Command Prompt' Menu. When I see the icon, it's like the path or the file is missing of some sort. So I click right on the top that says "Command Prompt" and click on the option "open the file location, which made me feel weird as there should be no such thing as an option for a file that is part of the folder system32." I was directed to ' C:\Users\Acer\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories'.
    I found a shortcut to the command prompt, but I checked the file in "position to open the file", the location of the file is not displayed (opens in a new window as every time it is done). Also the guest who said when every time the .exe is missing is not indicated where we gave options to remove the .lnk. But it shows same either. If the file should be there, but it seems that the cmd is absent when I searched in system32.
    So, I'm at the blunt end to try to do things and to rely on some other cmd work and one question remains to ask with your opinion, are there links to download Microsoft cmd or is it even safe to use the another cmd PCs or by downloading?
