  Recently, I was playing a game and all of a sudden my screen freezes and lines appear. So I stop and wait a bit. When starting, it gets to the point where Microsoft first loading starts, then it freezes and shows the same white box. So I'll and do a hardware check and all is well. So I go into safe mode and it let me and I do a system restore the same thing occurs. So I reinstall vista and I'm no probs but then I load my drivers and restart and it happens again. I start to the last known good config and reinstall all my drivers except my video card driver and reboot. It worked but unfortunately my graphics card is not working, so none of my games work. So I narrowed down it to the graphics card. Any help will be much thnx.

  You do not mention the upgrade of the standard 250 Watt power supply in your PC and the AMD 6570 requires a minimum of 400 watts power by AMD.  Not having enough power for the video card will cause lots of weird problems, including crashes, freezes and performance.

  The 6570 AMD isn't a good video card for modern games, you might want to return it and get a better card and a power supply.

  New video cards require the UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS / Legacy.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid - October, 2012.  Your motherboard may not be upgraded in the UEFI.  The last video cards that does not need UEFI were 640 gt.  The PCI Express slot is 1.0 unless it is specified otherwise.  The version 2.0 and 3.0 are backward compatible.

  I suggest that you determine the video card from the manufacturer that you want to buy and contact their Technical Support to help you choose the best card for your motherboard.

  You need to upgrade the power supply (PSU), also.  The current PSU is 250W.  Most newer cards require at least 400W to work properly.  I love Corsair products.  I recommend that you buy a power supply at least 500W.

  I don't think it is sealed for any other reason than from your PC with a video of the add-on card, they would not people plugging in these ports DVI cables and by calling HP support complaining that the video does not work (because an add on card disables the integrated graphics card).

  Remove your discrete PCIe x 16 graphics card, so the built-in graphics card is enabled, put your hand on the good size torx screwdriver and remove the cover, so you can use the integrated graphics card adapter.

  Usually, you don t need no work around special to make the connection with the external TV.
  You must connect the laptop with the TV using the s-video cable.

  Please note that the s-video channel must be enabled on your TV.
  Then change the video output in the properties of the graphics card.

  Using a Windows operating system, you would be able to switch to the external TV by pressing the FN + F5 keys, but as much as I know about Linux OS this function will not work.

  I tried the link you provided, but it is inaccessible, unless we have a forum of Activision account.

  Normally, all you have to do is right click on an empty spot on the desktop and select Configure switchable graphics.

  

  Select it gpu performance and click apply. That should leave the AMD GPU default graphics package.

  Put a check mark in the box for the "saving GPU on battery switch' your laptop will not consume so much battery capacity.
