    Hello

I need help on upgrading my hard drive on an HP Pavilion DV6345US.

    The hard drive is a 160 GB 5400 RPM SATA - 1, 5 Gbps.

I would like to replace it with a drive of 500 GB - 7200 rpm or 500 GB - 5400 RPM.

But I have read that HP Pavilion DV6499 or less may have difficulty using a 7200 RPM drive.

That means that a 500 GB drive to 5400 RPM can be used,

or is the limit of 320 GB 5400 RPM or less?

  • Pavilion zv5000 - IDE adapter for HARD drive?

I have a Pavilion zv5000 series portable whose hard drive died several years ago. My father sent him to a work friend, who understood that it was the HARD drive, and I guess that he threw the car with an adapter with it. I got an IDE drive, foolishly, assuming that the pins on the drive just fit into the connector on the laptop itself. After a lot of confusion as to why the player wouldn't be good, a research showed a card equipped with a regular at one end IDE connector and a connector similar to that on the laptop on the other. I ask if it is true that I need one, even if I do not otherwise so that it connects.

Also, nines are isolated from the main pins on the drive. The old connector Molex had also four pins. These are the power pins, and the adapter address these too? It doesn't seem to be any other connector on the laptop. Once again, I want to just confirm this and no I have to not just buy the wrong thing for this laptop.

Therefore the adapter that I'm looking for?

Yes, I used to own a zv5000 and I can confirm there was a plastic connector black who went on the IDE brass pins on the hard drive to allow the connection to the motherboard.

I have a new computer.  We have been plug an external hard drive to move my photos in the new computer.

Creative Memories Photo Manager probably ejected your camera after you import the images. Check the default settings and change them if you prefer something different.

If your camera is not displayed as ejection, it is safe to remove it. Damage to the file system wouldn't be possible, but not certain, if he had written active file or buffer not released when the device has been deleted.
  • Pavilion TouchSmart b159sx 15: 16 GB ram upgrade

    Hello

I have HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-b159sx Sleekbook and I want to upgrade the RAM 16 GB.

    My hardware specification:
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-15-Sleekbook/5330569/model/5378819/document/c0373048...

    1. is it possible with regard to the specification of the material?

2 change the 16 GB ram will make a noticeable difference?

    Best regards

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

    P. 4: supports up to 8 GB of RAM in the following configurations: ● 8192 MB total memory (4096 MB × 2) (no support for 32-bit operating systems)

So the answer to both your questions is 'no '. However, if you still have the original 6 GB, you will see significant improvement, upgraded to 8 because you will not only get a discount of 25% of the memory, but you will run in mode dual channel which is maybe 10% faster. It's the REF HP for the 4 GB module:

    4 GB 641369-005

Memory got inexpensive, so it is logical to buy just 2 new modules for you ensure that they are identical and will be run in dual channel:

    https://www.Amazon.com/crucial-PC3L-12800-SODIMM-204-pin-memory/DP/B005LDLVAO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1467373249&SR=8-1&keywords=DDR3-1600+2+x+4+so-DIMM

Unfortunately access to housing for th ememory module requires the removal of the motherboard. See p. 69 of the manual. Post back if you need help most.

My computer died. It has a hard drive 2 TB, about 3 years old. Error message I got was that device startup is not found 3F0. I tried recovery discs & they don't work either. I tried recovery discs & they don't work either.  If the hard drive has failed, there can be recovery disks does not work correctly.  You can test the hard drive by using the SMART test in the BIOS.

Apart from that, I never had a problem with the computer so I can't wait to replace it.

If I get a new hard drive, the recovery disks will work?  Yes.  You should buy a hard drive of the same size or larger than the current drive.    If the computer is equipped with a system of business other than Win 10, the recovery discs contains this OS.  You will need to upgrade to Win 10 after recovery.

Or do I need a real Windows CD?  See responses above.

There are 177 models in the TouchSmart 610 series.  If you provide the complete model of the computer, I'll give you more information that will help you with the replacement of the drive.

  • DV6-6119wm: HP Pavilion dv6-6119wm - replace the hard drive with a hard drive from a laptop Gateway

OK (deep breath). I have a dilemma, and I hope that you all can help me.

First of all, the HP laptop in question is a dv6-6119wm QE069UA #ABA, Windows 7 Home Premium.

A month ago, it began overheating and then blue screened on me with a fan error. I ran it while I was getting this error, which was a mistake, because according to me, he has finally caused the hard drive failure after enforcement of reset factory several times. But I'm getting ahead.

I replaced the fan and the heatsink myself. Another factory reset. Downloaded and installed all the updates of windows. Ran great for like a week with the exception of the fault 1 hard disk when I ran the Start Up Test.

Then when I restarted yesterday... He's dead, so he is dead.  Apparently, the hard drive failed completely and comes only a black screen telling me it cannot start.

So, I have this other model of Gateway laptop, NV55C26u which has stopped charging. I had to put it away and don't worry. I got out the hard drive and tried HP successfully. ! Sorta.

It considers that the HP is a gateway and as a result, none of the drivers are there for all the good stuffs HP. It cannot connect to the internet and does not recognize the USB flash drive. (I had downloaded all the drivers on another laptop and put them on a pious flash drive I could convince the hard drive it's HP again). Another hard drive WILL work in the dv6, and I had no errors on startup it upward.

I have no recovery discs or store bought Windows 7, all came with the laptop preinstalled. But I don't have my key to the label.

Then what should I do? I'm not exactly tech savvy, I know just enough to be dangerous haha, but I tend to go glassy when things get too technical. I thought I could get something Microsoft to reinstall my Windows but I guess they closed this path down a few months ago.

    I have access to 2 other laptops, both HP. A QE304UA of Pavilion G7 #ABA with Windows 7 Home Premium and a HP 250 G2 Portable F7V84UT #ABAwith Windows 7 Professional.

So basically in order to encapsulate this novel to the top, which can do here to fix my dv6? How can I convince this other HDD HP rather than Gateway? I can create something from one of these other HP laptops? Download something somewhere? I don't want to have to buy Windows again. I love this phone and need her in my life as a game.

    Please help me

You must do a clean install of Windows on them. The hard drive has drivers for completely different material. Too bad that you did not have your drive to retrieve the value. It would restore the hard drive to HP with all the drivers/software installed. It would depend if the hard disk is at least the same capacity or larger than the original. Recovery discs are reluctant to a smaller capacity hard drive.

You can order recovery Medai for about $16:

If you can read the Microsoft Windows 7 of 25-character license key, you can download a Windows 7 ISO file to burn to a DVD or USB flash drive. The version must match that's installed on your PC as shown on the sticker COST Microsoft fixed on the bottom of the laptop. Like Windows Home Premium.

Hello I had a model of work but the hard drive has been wiped. I can't load windows XP on this pavilion m8200n?

I would recommend that you buy the kit recovery for m8200n which will restore the factory installed the operating system, drivers and application software. Here is the link to a site where you can order the kit of third party recovery:

  • Satellite M45 - does not start after restoration on the new HARD drive

I installed a new PATA 250 GB HDD on my pc. The BIOS is configured to boot from CD/DVD. Toshiba Recovery disk started cold, start follow-up statement to load a new system on the HARD drive. He made a (quick) format on the HARD drive, spent 50 minutes, copy the files from the CD to the new HARD drive. Followed the instructions to remove the CD and reboot the pc. Did. I get the Toshiba homepage for 2-3 seconds, and then I get a white screen with a white block cursor in the upper corner of the LH of the screen. Looks like it does not find the block on the HARD disk?
The procedure of collection 3 times with the same results. Checked the BIOS to check that it is configured to boot from the HARD disk after installation.

The recovery CD is blank. Never used because I bought the PC (3.5 years). Put the new HARD drive in a USB enclosure and formatted with Windows, tried again with the same result? Put the old HDD, PC starts and works very well. Put the live CD Knoppix and boot from that, works very well. See the new HARD drive.

Thus, any suggestions are appreciated. The recovery CD Toshiba is defective? In any case to test?

    Thank you

    Hello

Sounds like a problem with the recovery disk or the new HARD disk if your computer starts up fine with the old HARD drive...

In your case before you start a lengthy discussion, you should try a Microsoft Windows disk to install Windows. If he work it seems that only the recovery disk is defective.

Otherwise, the HARD disk must be defective. Maybe a bad sector or something else

    Hello

I have no idea of (external)? HARD drive drive do you have average but if the HARD drive does not work under Vista OS, then that means that the driver/software is not compatible with Vista OS.

A part of software for external hard drives, you'll find the European Toshiba driver page:
Options of-> disk-> disk & HDD adapters devices

Maybe you should check this again!
