Try the solutions below: -.

Solution 1) (this error occurs when you have more than 1 process of Acrobat running)

  • (1) go to the task by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del Manager
  • (2) go to the process in the Task Manager
  • (3) terminate all processes associated with Acrobat
  • (4) start Acrobat again.

Solution 2) open Acrobat access to menu help & repair installation.

Solution 3) control the association of file on your system.

Solution 4) course for HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\acrobat\shell\open\ddeexec\application and change the "AcroviewA11"key to "AcroviewR11.

    SCENARIO #1
    (1) if I double click on a single PDF file, the file opens without any problem
    (2) if I double click on a second PDF file, I get ' Fatal Error: Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server.
    (3) if I double click on a third file I also get ""Fatal Error: Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server " and so on..."
    (4) if I completely close Adobe Reader, I can open and then again all a single PDF file
    (5) basically I can have only one PDF file open at any time
    (6) if I reboot my system, I can open multiple PDFs even once without any problems, but after leaving my system on without restarting the computer for a while (possibly after a whole day) the question back again and I have to restart once again to solve the problem. Very annoying.

    SCENARIO #2
    (1) I Double click on a single PDF file, the file opens
    (2) I click file = > open select one or more PDF files and have no problem open as many PDF files I want.
    (3) I guess I can use this as a workaround but I find that it is not also practice that double-click several files in Windows Explorer.


    Here's what I've tried so far vain

    Uninstall/reinstall of Adobe Reader 9.1
    -uninstall Adobe Reader 9.1 and Adobe Reader 8 installation
    -Remove the checkmark next to "USE DDE" in the Windows Explorer File Types section
    (In Windows Explorer, click on tools = > Folder Options = > Types of files = > PDF = > advanced = > open = > change = > use DDE)

    I had success with the "connect as" to "Local System account" with the "allow service to interact with desktop" checked.

    Today I couldn't open a pdf document by double-clicking on it in Windows Explorer. Apparently, nothing happened. Finally, I opened right click and chose with... Chrome. It worked. The default value is Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. I found later, after the closure of the browser widow, dialog windows three under.     When double checking so that writing this post, I found that by double clicking on a PDF document opens on board - and that works too. Right-click, context menu's 'Open' in the top of the page and more restraint, 'Open with->' and Adobe Acrobat Reader ms at the top of the submenu.
    I just tried the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC selection and nothing I happening. I reduced all the windows one by one to see if a dialogue window appears, but no.

    Googling the error message turned up a suggestion to set a registry entry, but the entry was already the suggested value: HKCR\acrobat\shell\open\ddeexec\application: default: REG_SZ: AcroViewR10,.

    What type of server Acrobat tries to connect with? How to? Acrobat Connect to the Explorer window for the file name?
    With no information to go, how you can help out us, other than the nuclear option: reinstall everything?

    I have Windows 7.  When I try to download a file, it rises and then freezes.  I uninstalled and reinstalled adobe reader software and it still does not work.  It worked fine until about a week ago.  What has caused this happens and how to fix it?

    Using Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader? If only the PDF reader, it has always been problematic. I suggest you only replace it with this lightweight and reliable PDF reader.

    I installed Yosemite a few weeks and it took several days to finally get things working again. Everything was fine for awhile, but now Safari try to continually reload pages, Mail crashes when I check new messages (it disappears without warning), Illustrator gives me "unknown error (-108)", just InDesign disappears when I try to start it, Word does not open, preview does not work in the finder. This is a major drawback and makes my pretty useless Mac.

    Installed FF 16, 17, 18. Does not open in the normal administrator account, or with "Run as Administrator" but will be in SafeMode to W7. Changed the permissions (normal connection had to do in Mode without failure of W7, would not allow (connected as an administrator) can not delete the files from Mozilla in normal connection.) On rare occasions, with a fresh install, I could get it to open once, then not again. Searched the reg any mention of Mozilla or FF and cleaned. Tried FF safe mode, no luck. Check permissions after appropriators and multiplication of the rights of full ownership of all the files of FF, several reboots, no luck. Chrome, IE and SeaMonkey work very well. Using a fairly new installation of W7 Professional 64 bit on a Dell Optiplex 990 i7, 16 GB of ram. Had the same problem with another user on the same box. No problem on other computers without other problems in program.

    Finally have it running. Seems that the enterprise version of McAfee is blocking the installation of the program. McAfee uninstalled, reinstalled Firefox, installed McAfee and now, it's good to go.

    Please restart your computer after

    Try resetting preferences PS :-hold key Alt, Ctrl, and shift keys at the start of PS and select Yes

    Try to open PS in disabled mode Plugin and check the same. To do this press SHIFT + PS icon and click Yes.

    Maybe it's your AntiVirus software take some time to allow Firefox work.

    You can temporarily disable or uninstall your AV for that study as a possible reason. Maybe for safety run all such a test if not connected to the internet.

    an Adobe representative has taken control of the computer and found "Web Companion' of LavaSoft that conflicted with DW.

    Even with a double click on a PDF in the file Explorer. Drive worked fine in Windows 10 build 14905 this afternoon before I updated.

    What to do apart from push to 14905?

    As a work around, I did the Microsoft program "Reader", the default value for the pdf files they open fine in the drive.
