Domain migration question

Hey!

I kinda a strange question...

Recently a contractor migrated our domain Server 2003 on new servers Server R2 2012. Domain level is still 2003. This brings me to my point, we have an old Windows 98 PC running a piece of legacy software, since the migration, it does not communicate with the domain. He emigrated from DHCP, DNS, and DC services more to the new servers.

I went in the DNS settings on the network of the 98 PC options and he stressed the new domain controller. Since I made this change, we can do anything, it keeps popping up a box on the network of the operation is not permitted when attempting to authenticate the user to the domain.

I know that Windows 98 is not supported in the field of 2008 levels and especially, but because the domain level is always 2003 is only fair that Windows server 2012 cannot communicate with Windows 98? Another that reactivate among domain controllers 2003 old is there any fix?

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

  • ESX4i host domain migration

    Hi all

I need to migrate our current ESX host from 1 to another... I know that if I go into the configuration of the host of the VI client tab I can select DNS and routing, and change the domain there.  Is it as simple as that and then perform a reboot...

I know that the files to check are

    / etc/resolv. Cong

    / etc/hosts

    sysconfig...

But in regards to the General procedure, I'll evacuate the host, put it in maintenance mode, select the 'configuration' tab, then click the 'DNS and routing' tab and change the domain it y...  Has anyone done this before... any suggestions?

In addition, after restart and config file on the host check, is there any problem with joining the host to the cluster if it is in a field other than the rest?  I suspect not, but just wanted to check with someone who could have done a migration like this before.

    Thanks a bunch,

    Chris

It looks like a good plan.  As long as DNS is configured correctly you shouldn't have any problems with the procedure you sketched out.

  • Windows 7 Outlook image domain profile question

We have a PC Windows 7 64 - bit, Ghost image of the PC, but when the first user opens a session, outlook goes into their profile, when the user opens a next session in it goes to the first users profile that connects.  There is no prompt that appears just directly in the Outlook of the original user profile, if this can be solved?

  • IB services currently Manager migration question

If I only added an additional Manager to an existing service operation, do I also need to migrate some objects IB related to this operation of qa production environment?  Appreciate any comment. Thank you.

If it's an existing service operation, then you can simply migrate the service operation handler.

  • Customer view Windows - FULL domain name question

I was wondering if someone had met before?

I have a small view Horizon 5.3.1 of the network running test. I have 1 connection to the server and paired 1 security server. I have no problem with my security server sitting in my DMZ for use with remote access. The problems begin when I try to connect to the server of connection when I'm on the internal network. When you use the latest version of the Windows client view (running on Windows 8.1 x 64) and tryping in the FQDN of the server connection, I just get an error immediately says "unable to connect to the server. If I use the IP address then it works fine, but obviously is of no use, because I can't verify the cert.

I had problems in the past with the help of short DNS (which does not), but I am not concerened that I want to use full domain in any case names.

I checked the DNS and everything seems fine. If I ping domain name FULL of the connection to the server, I get a reply, all other servers are accessible by their FULL domain name and access HTML works fine using the FULL domain name and my certs check out OK.

It sounds like a problem in the Windows Vista client. If anyone has any ideas, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you

    Pete

It really depends on the whole upward. But we use the same URL for both. Ours are the same.

    Example of

And we even put Blast Gateway for HTTPS for security servers and the connection.

then when you pull up to your customer. To connect to the server, simply type in view.domain.com and it should work if you have DNS entries on the DNS server for your domain.

  • Vi3, vsphere 4.1 migration question == > models not visible vi3 to vs4.1

    Hi all

    I'm migrating my old infrastructure VI3 (ESX3.5U5) to a new vSphere 4.1 a.

That I create a new database on V4.1 I have to disconnect all virtual Center2.5 ESX3.5 to connect tp Virtual Server 4.1.

I have a lot of templates on each ESX3.5 but when I reconnect the ESX3.5 to the Virtual Server 4.1 I don't see all of my models.

It seems that directly from virtual server, it is impossible (except 'add to inventory' option but I have too many ESX sc_results.php data store)

Do you think that a script PowerCLI can help me?

    TKS for your help.

Do you have the chance to try the suggestion described in your previous thread?

  • Individual subject domain migration

    Hello

Im trying to migrate a single space of the object "Maintenance assets" of the olive TREE to a new RPD.
So far, I didn't much luck as im getting constant error messages when I try it.
The way im trying to do is first get rid of all other areas first with their respective objects, in the logic and physical layers but also all blocks initializations, Variables and so on...

Im working backwards, from the presentation layer and using the function "query related objects. This seems to be an effective way to do this as it is never finished the consistency without any error checking. The most common mistakes are along the lines, "logical objects missing a physical source"...

What is the best way to go on this kind of action?

Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated!
    Thank you

    The best way is:

    (1) create a new RPD
    (2) tools-> Options-> general tab-> check "Allow import of the repository.
    (3) file-> import-> the repository
    (4) select repository and followed by uid/pwd
    (5) catalogues-> topic select box-> click Add with children
    (6) finish

    Mark as correct

  • Updated Question & migration question

I got a new laptop to replace my desktop computer. I need to transfer my (saved on an external hard drive) hearings to the laptop. But I want to continue to use my HD as the hard drive my computer.

Also, I'm in Audition 3.0. Can I switch to 5.5 or what is the last version before the Creative Suite, or what I have to go all the way to CS6.6 of the hearing?

    Thank you

    Michael

session file transfer is no different to transfer other files.

you will need to install correctly the hearing 3 on your new laptop. do NOT migrate or use any other utility to move the installed program.

If you need the Setup file, this file seems correct, http://www.techspot.com/downloads/5733-adobe-audition.html , but this isn't an adobe website and you must carefully analyze the exe for malware, Trojans and viruses.

Adobe offers only the latest versions of its software.  for audition cs6 and cc.

  • Forms and reports Migration question

    Nice day

We migrated a planning application to a customer of their Production to their Test environment. Everything seems 100% except for forms and reports. I am able to view details about the forms, but am not able to open them and the same is true for reports. I remember reading a post somewhere that he had specific tables in the repository of planning that had to be copied through.

If someone can help with this problem? I need to know what schema and tables? The repository for planning is in Oracle.

    Much appreciated in advance
    Kind regards
    Jean

    It should be good.

Everything seems to work as expected and I even got the standard windows of information indicating that I have was greeted at the field and I had to restart. After the reboot, I am unable to log on to the domain and I get a message indicating that the trust relationship is broken. Unfortunately, I can't use my local admin account either... the system is telling me no matter what I try to do requires high privileges which I am unable to access the connection with the Act that the workstation has not correctly joined to the domain. In addition, for the domain controller, I can not find a computer account for this system. Is there an easy way to separate this pc "is not entirely-joints" the domain and return it to a State of "stand alone" so I can try to join again? Thanx.
