Don't forget turn flash plugin later

I have Firefox set to ask me if I want to activate the Flash plugin. I use this function to stop Web sites play videos unwanted during my browsing session. There is a site I often discover that a lot of unwanted video who download and play with Flash. Sometimes, I don't want to see a video (it's a news site) and I hit 'Now allow' and playback of the video. Once, I hit 'Allow and Remember' by accident. Now, whenever I go on this site, look at one is slow and it take longer to load upwards due to the Flash junk. I can't understand how to reverse the selection of 'Allow and Remember' of this site. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Flash, but that has not worked. Apparently, Firefox continues to remember my choice. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi krm307, you can right click on an empty spot on the page in question and go to "show information page" from the context menu. Then go to the permissions tab, where you can revert to the behavior of click-to-play and/or change other options for that particular area.

  • Adobe Flash Plugin crashing!

Hi all! My adobe flash plugin keeps default! And never send the crash error report. Your tutorial did not work ethier. Please can anyone help solve this problem. I am running on Windows 7 and am unable update whatever it is (I don't have administrator privileges). Thanks - brandon

    Hi brandon_g,
My apologies for the reply later and happy holidays! When Flash crashes in Firefox, there are some troubleshooting steps that may be recommended to avoid that it doesn't happen.

However, in order to disable flash please click the Firefox Menu (three horizontal bar button):

    1. In the menu, click on Add ons
    2. Click on plugins on the page that opens
    3. Next to Shockwave Flash player, you can click on 'Always enable' and change to 'ask to activate '.
  • If I have the Flash Plugin on my computer, Firefox pages constantly lock

If I have the Flash plugin on my pages of computer lock and I have to close it using cont/alt/delete. When I delete Flash plugin stops problems. BUT then I get a popup saying: I need the Flash plugin and the window is still in the way of typing a web address. He is a recent problem. I tried to remove Firefox and download again, but nothing helped.
I tried clicking on install on the window, but then my pages lock constantly. It seems to be an incompatibility with Flash and Firefox.

You can check for problems with the current versions of the plugin Shockwave Flash and try this:

    • Disable protected mode in the plugin Flash (Flash 11.3 + on Windows Vista and later versions)
    • turn off hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

  • Firefox ESR 10.0.12 disables the flash plugin - updates to the latest version do not work?

Suddenly - without the measures taken by me - FF ESR 10.0.12 refuses to accept Adobe Flash? (System Win 7 Ultimate 64)
It started with a very boring bar, which cost me 2 hours to turn it off, which told me to update a plugin from Adobe Reader very old and unused. Then, he insisted, that the Foxit PDF reader plugin is not updated. Because I do not use it, I disabled too. Since I rarely use Flash, I just found out today, that youtube does more - FF insists, that my flash plugin is too old and there it turned off.
It has cost me hours so far and this is _exactly_ the reason why I use the channel of the ESR.
    What I did:
Have completely uninstalled Adobe Flash (using Windows). Used the normal Firefox update, which he would recommend (your flash drive has been disabled, please install...). Without success, it simply goes in a loop, always telling me that my flash player is too old.
I also installed directly from Adobe (version Firefox!), in all cases, it reports version 11.5.502.104. The latest version of Adobe-, but it seems to be too old?

I'm spitting angry now - this kind of disorder is the reason that I only use Mozilla's ESR versions. I don't want your troop of chaos to play with the installation of _my_. But obviously, you have found ways to do it.

If this is not resolved (and no, I do _not_ reinstall Firefox, I'm not going to delete my profile) in a few days, Firefox is dead to me. I'm already with Chrome and Opera. Many friends have these browsers - I am a bit conservative and I want as my stable browser and look a feeling must also be stable. I do _not_ want a new version every two weeks, which costs each time that my effort and time to configure it as I want.

The question is: How did you disable the latest version of Flash and why? Why do I now register here and investing valuable time to get my browser to work again? If I had done something, install or remove something, okay. But I did not. (And Yes, so far I have day Flash and other plugins, when I was invited to do)

Clearly _your_ management works the _not_: if I use solutions which FF itself recommends, it sends me into an infinite loop: install newer Flash, sorry, Flash is obsolete, install latest Flash...

Is this the new "security"? Bah. If you have done for the 'normal' user (which you obviously don't respect any more), you have not. And you have not completely for me: If software insists on doing things 'automatically', it should make them less reliable, it should ask _or_. But work in the shadows, change things, reports nothing and then failing is exactly the reason why I disable things to "automatic" and want to be _asked_ before some silly piece of c... deconfigures himself - and stops working...

    The following troubleshooting tips:
At this time, Flash player is installed, presents in the list of systems as "Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin" software, Version 11.5.502.146. The others are my normal plugins. Several changes to about: config were made by me in order to do usable FF again, without harassing the bars 'info '...

Found: in some sort plugin.scan.plid.all entry disappeared from my setup under "subject: config'." It simply no longer existed.

After much research and cursing I found and reinstated, with the Boolean value 'true '. Now Flash Player is once again, and it seems to work. The horse is gone. Also, I was able to uninstall the old plugin Adobe Reader and FoxIt Reader plugin, which I haven't used for a long time (format PDF download always locally). It helped, because the annoying nag window went away, and I could reactivate other options that I had to disable, to get rid of a bar/window indicating the information known about a plugin that was disabled and not used anyway. (It started with 10.0.12 update, I think)

Comment: It's unnecessary _completely_ for me (plugin was the last version of anyway, because he has a service life of update and updates without FF). It took me 2-3 hours of precious time.

    Could you please consider:
    (1) INFORM the user about the problems and not more stupid click me once windows with standard chat text. Even Microsoft, not known for their openness and user information, was able to inform me of updates of _what_ _avant_ I install them and _why_ I should install them.
    2) more information in the windows plugin/extension, so there is no chance of finding problems.
    (3) STOP the condescension and mothering the user, at least as an option, so we can choose it. Because if someday leave FF forever, it will be the main reason. I REFUSE to install automatically. I am _responsible_ to my computer. If someone or something moves for example illegal data on it, I can't use the excuse that this was done 'automatically '. I want to know how, when and WHY an update or something is installed. So please stop this patronizing.

  • Flash Plugin QA

I'm just curious as to why Adobe don't QA is better Flash plugin (or perhaps I should say, more aggressive)?

As an employee of the company using the Flash as a core of intellectual property it is, I must say that whenever a new version of the Flash plugin is released to the public I have to hold my breath and wait for the potential impact.

Last summer we had to fade a number of video bugs with the 11.3/11.4 provided and more recently, we try to fade the huge percentage of users who report all-out crashes when broadcasting.  For example, the last bug when broadcasting with the codec Speex had no business turning it into a public Flash release and the most basic Adobe QA procedure would have captured it.  Or, perhaps, Adobe did catch but you spell it anyway?

We have recently implemented a ticket from a customer who says more than 1/3 of all sessions are destroyed by Flash client with the latest public version... is catastrophic in our industry.  It literally makes your useless client apps.

I can go on and on, and I'm sure that others here as well.  Adobe would be much better to turn off the public releases much less often and just QA your work much more.  None of these extra bells/whistles means a thing if you can't keep your plugin stable and functional 'at least' as well as the public version in front of her.  If Adobe continues on this path of chance turn off "garbage" releases, it will accelerate the movement to HTML5 and WebRTC and Adobe will have to stick to the basics, like Photoshop.  The beauty of Flash is the ability to achieve great things without an additional client download.  The forces of instability of the Flash developers to control the point to point with a local application (outside the plugin).  For example, connect to a "add-in" plugin that allows to immunize yourself from the inherent weakness of your public releases.  Without this, you would have no customers if you had to rely on the features / stability of what the rest of the world uses.

I think Adobe is at a crossroads with Flash - I hope they make the right turn.

    Kind regards

    Dave

I really hope you can help me! I did a site in Flash 8 Professional that has a main index.fla that loads different SWFs into a square, according to a menu on the left.

  • Flash plugin crashing

    Hi all

For these last days, Adobe Flash has been crashing in Firefox. Sometimes I'll see a second or so before animation it crashes, but usually, I just see the message "crushed" like the screenshot on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/adobe-flash-plugin-has-crashed. On some pages, it's just empty where I know the Flash component must be.

From Firefox in SafeMode with plugins disabled does not help, although if I start * Windows * safe mode, Flash works fine.

Go to https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html and by clicking the check now shows me my version of Flash, but the animation that appears just below the button block (rasthaus screenshot).

I've done several complete uninstall/relocations of Flash and Firefox, including manually via C:\Users\username\AppData\Local and \Roaming and remove subfolders of Mozilla.

I am at a loss here, any help you can provide is appreciated.

  • The Adobe Flash plugin has crashed! Help please.

I can not load any flash content in Firefox. Instantly, I get the following error message: "the Adobe's Flash plugin broke down. Reload the page to try again. ».
So far I have uninstalled and reinstalled Flash, restarted my computer and disabled acceleration hardware everything to nothing does not. Any help would be appreciated.

It is a standard orientation that addresses the most common reasons for problems of Flash in Firefox. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:

    (1) make sure that all recorders/downloaders who interact with the Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or turn them off. It could be modules or they could be external software.

    (2) disable graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox and Flash

    (A) in Firefox, uncheck the box here and restart:

the button Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) > Options > advanced > General > "use hardware acceleration when available.

    (B) in Flash, see this article from Adobe technical support: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

    (3) turn off protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)

  • Firefox keeps exposing a nag on outdated Flash plugin bar

Recently, Firefox keeps displaying a yellow bar horse informing me that my Flash plugin is obsolete and should be updated. I can't update my flash because I don't have no administrator rights on this PC (but in return, I am not responsible for any damage caused by respective exploits). However my portable Firefox keeps this nag bar display. Checks for all sorts of updates is disabled in the options, but that doesn't seem to cover this check for plugins update (or at less the flash plugin). What can I do?

you are welcome - please note that for version 11.3 of flash, you must copy the two .dll file & the FlashPlayerPlugin_11_3_XXX_XXX.exe (which is used for protected mode adobe) in the folder plugin, otherwise Firefox crashes on pages with flash content.

  • Adobe Flash plugin does not work with Firefox 7.0.1.in Windows XP Pro

Using Firefox 7.0.1 plugin Flash 11.0.1.152 installs OK in Windows XP Home Edition, but not Windows XP Professional.

I don't know if this is related, but the page http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer OK appears in Win XP Home but comes in the form of text in Win XP Pro.

By clicking on the download link does nothing, so I need to use Windows IE to download the Flash Installer and start it manually. When I do, Flash installs OK in Internet Explorer, but not in FF.

Windows XP and home are quite similar, the main difference is in the way security and permissions are managed.

You have probably not install or update the Flash Player plugin on the XP Pro computer. Note IE & Firefox use different plugins for FlashPlayer.

See Flash Plugin - maintain and troubleshoot issues that includes information on tests and download of flash Player.

I installed the firefox browser, but it will not display farmville. Do I need to install the flash plugin in the browser firefox or internet explore. I have already adobe flash player installed through Web browser to explore.

There are 2 versions of Flash:

    • the ActiveX for IE version only (see: [ActiveX])
    • the version of the plugin for Firefox and other browsers, except IE

You need to update/install both if you use IE and any other browser. See the instructions below.

    1. To update or install the Flash plugin for the latest version.

      • Download and SAVE to your desktop, so you can find the Setup program later
      • If you do not have the current version, click on the "Player Download Center" link on the 'download and information' or 'Download manual installers' below
      • Once the download is complete, exit Firefox
      • Click on the installer, you just download and install
        • Windows 7 and Vista: will need to right click on the installer and choose 'run as administrator '.
      • Launch Firefox and recheck your version or up to the download link below to test the installation
      • Download and information: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
        • Use Firefox to go to the site above to update the Firefox plugin (will also install the plugin for most other browsers, except IE)
        • Use IE to go to the site above to update the ActiveX to IE
      • Download manual installers.
