  • How can I PIN Hotmail at the START screen in Windows 8?

I try to put as much USEFUL information on the screen of BOOT of Windows 8.  It is the screen that is displayed first after logging in Windows 8.  right now I have to go to the OFFICE to get to an email which is an extra step.  Any help is appreciated here.

You say you want actually slab on your Start that will lead you to your Hotmail page in Internet Explorer? If Yes:

To add a tile at the beginning who opens the Office of IE10 for Hotmail

    1. open IE10 Desktop then go to your Hotmail Inbox.

    2. click on Tools "cog" (top-right), and then select Add a Site to the start screen.

To add a tile at the beginning that opens modern IE10 (aka metro) to Hotmail

    1. open modern IE10 then go to your Hotmail Inbox.

2 right-click anywhere, and then click the PIN site icon (it looks like a bug - row at the bottom of the icons, 3rd from the right) and select Pin to Start.

The foregoing will not be live tiles.

The Microsoft Mail application can be used for Hotmail accounts and will have a live tile showing when the new mail arrived. Its features are far too limited for my taste.

Windows Live Mail is a free alternative that can be used with Hotmail. When pinned at the beginning, it will not be a live tile showing the incoming mail, however. Please see:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

I felt that I could let it run out of battery, but I don't know how the phone can operate on a screen for single cabin with just the lenovo on-screen log. Also don't know if once I reboot it wouldn't have the same problem.

I thought that this could be a fluke, but now the ThinkPad won't even go past the first screen that says "To interrupt normal startup, press the blue Access IBM button" without worrying if I press that key, or, the function keys.

This is as far as I came. What are my next steps?

This looks like a start of a failure of SouthBridge chips which is very common on these machines.

Remove the keyboard (but keep that he attached), the palmrest and the wireless card.

Turn on the machine, then * gently * press the big square under the slot wireless chip.

If the machine starts normally whenever the square is pressed, a SouthBridge chip failure.

    Good luck.

  • My hp will not go past the blue screen

I tried everything I can think of.

nothing will make me past the blue screen

    Please help me!

    Hello cannary77:

Sorry your computer broke down. Thanks to updates from Microsoft. Well I see you tried safe mode and couldn't open. I hope you have your recovery disk. It's the time to use them. Just insert the disk and turn on coomputer. If your memory or your hard drive was not damaged it must start the process of full recovery. Follow on screen commands. If you do not have your recovery disk, then you can order them through section of HP computer parts. I hope that this step is all you need. Because if this last resort fails then your computer should be taken for repairs. Maybe just replacing memory chips or the hard drive maybe both.

Once you fall upwards and re-run. Modify the updater settings to automatically update, but let me pick witch to install. Now manually check you for updater and see if the updates are downloaded. Check only one couple at a time. For some reason when a buch of them settle in once, what is happening. I got lucky when it happpened to me. I could get my computer in safe mode and do a restore from the back. Since I changed my settings it didn't happen.

Oh if you need send repairs request an estimate may be cheeper to buy new, then tries to fix it. Also check your warranty may still be covered. All HP computers come with one year warranty. Good luck
