It is not your computer or your problem - it is to them (and they have not yet publicly acknowledge it's a problem as far as I know!)
If all goes well, he'll be fixed one way or another this week - but don't hold your breath!

Essentials Security said sometimes that my computer is not protected and that I don't have windows genuine. I had all sorts of problems with my computer. It is slow and the habit to always stay connected to the internet. He said also that I had a virus Trojan horse said but now my computer is clean. Any ideas? Thank you.
Go to the update of MS and get "verified" site to prove that your operating system is genuine.

This computer is not running Windows genuine - help please
I use a HP Pavilion 6675, I've had for a few years - it has been pre-installed with Windows 7 Home. Now I get a pop-up message of Windows Activation Technologies by saying that this computer is not running genuine windows. If I click on the link to solve online now, he takes me to a page that whirles around for a certain time and then trying to make me buy Windows genuine (which I already have!). It seems because of this problem, I am currently not able to install updates for Windows. At rang HP support, they want me re - set the computer to factory settings - seems too drastic for me. Surely, there must be a simpler solution? I saw the diagnostic tool mentioned on a couple of other threads, so I ran it. Here are the results. If anyone can help, I'd be really grateful.

Firefox is already running but is not responding? Simple answers don't seem to work
I started Firefox earlier today and received a message about a problem with Firefox and he had to be reset. Because the other option seemed worse than the reset, and Firefox Reseting seemed relatively painless, I clicked OK. A short message popped up on the registration of passwords, bookmarks, etc. with success. Then a small window pops up, saying it was cleaning of Firefox. While the process seemed to freeze. I liquidated it, killed at any process of firefox running and attempted to restart Firefox, when I received the message "Firefox is already running, but does not." There is a folder on my desktop labeled 'old Firefox data' which I assume is from Firefox reset (it is also now a copy of the profile on my desk, just in case).
https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/Firefox-already-running-not-responding
I found this and tried to work through it, but it doesn't seem to help.
(1) Ther' are no Firefox.exe in my task manager, nor is there a process plugin-container.
(2) I deleted the file "parent.lock" in both the profile (which is just a bunch of jumbled letters and numbers with 'default' in it) and the record of the old Firefox. However, these files were just "parent.lock" not "parent.lock.parentlock".
(3) did not change the name on it, so unless the reset did before she locked herself, I don't know what to change it to.
(4) it is not a file share, so...
(5) this could be a possibility. The folder of Firefox that my profile is 'Read only' is, but I can't not to change cela. Everytime I go in, turn off the 'Read only' option and tell him to propagate the change through subfolders, it seems to work, but when I check the properties 10 seconds later, 'Read Only' is checked again.
Sounds that the profiles.ini was corrupted when you remove the old default profile and adding the new profile.
You can have security software that preventing to change the Firefox file.
You use the Profile Manager to restore an existing profile or create a new profile.
A "Reset" creates a new default profile with a timestamp attached and is trying to import some settings of the old profile, leaving the old profile intact, including the (invalid) cache folder (topic: cache) can take up to 1 GB.
Versions of Firefox 15 + will move the old profile folder "old Firefox Data-#" folder on the desktop that gets a figure if you use reset several times, so you can no longer use the Profile Manager to return to the old profile.

original title: the customer service is horrible
After I downloaded beta Security Essentials, my computer say suddenly that he was not a genuine copy of Windows running and locked up.
I called last night and got a foreign person has attempted to resolve the issues and could not, so he told me that I had to call back after 06:00 to speak to someone in the United States. So I called back today at 06:00 and got one of those who are running around things voice control that didn't fix my problem at all. After much effort, I got a live person. Again, it was a foreign person (why make me wait all night and get up early to call?!?!)This woman told me to restart. I told her that I had rebooted about 10 times since the day before and each time he took forever to load back up the box that tells me that I need to activate windows. She has reiterated, "I ask you to restart." I knew he wouldn't do ANYTHING, but I did and after the session it forever (as I told him it would be) she told me that I had to remind once I got up the box again. I called after that I got the box AND HAD TO START OVER again ONCE with someone new. Of course, she was trying to pass me to someone else.Of course, after all this trouble, no MS sells a product key for Vista, it is abandoned. So I need to go buy Windows 7 and she told me that I'll LOSE EVERYTHING when I install it - all my documents and family photos are gone forever. Why not take my money and sell me a product key instead of let me in trouble? The worst ever undertaken. Of course, MS doesn't care because they have a monopoly. You should not need to buy anything except the recovery disc for your machine (if the built-in recovery partition does not work), unless you really need Win 7 for some reason any.
That being said - the COA sticker on your machine is readable? If Yes, then you should have no problem with a Windows 7 upgrade version - but you will need to either use activation by phone, or installation methods described here...

I have Windows Vista Home Premium installed on my laptop and Internet Explorer stops constantly. I went to Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner to perform a scan of my system, and it tells me that the scan does not work because I don't have Windows Vista or Windows 7. I'm confused.

Recently, I realized that I don't have Windows Media Player on this pc, which limit myself by doing a lot of options on my smart TV. I tried to install, but whenever I do, I get a message saying that it is not compatible with my computer, when I chose the right options for windows 7 64 bit.
Maybe you have an edition of "N" of Windows, which would explain your problem.
Windows 7 N editions offer choices

I haven't added any hardware lately, so I don't really have any idea why this is happening all of a sudden.
Almost forgot to mention, the last days I'm on another Site of our society and it seems that some users more have this problem here.
At the beginning we had some problems with rogue KMS hosts (clients installed with the wrong key, and then they began to behave like a KMS host), but this has been fixed.
I see activation all requests come to the KMS host.
Someone at - it an idea?
Kind regards
Mario

Doom 3, C & C Generals and C & C Tiberian Sun do not run or play in Windows 7 64 bit
Three of my favorite games, C & C Generals, C & C Tiberian Sun and Doom 3 will not run or play in Windows 7 64 bit. Last week, I built a new computer with Intel i7 860, GA P55A UDP4 Mobo, Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD5770, 4 GB ram, LCD Samsung B2350 with Direct X 11 and Windows 7 64-bit.
Installed the 3 games. C & C Generals does not work, a little box came on the bar saying 'a serious error has occurred' tasks. I've uninstalled it. Then installed C & C Tib Sun, the error code says "live X-please ensure you have direct X 9 or a later version, also make sure that your video card meets the req min etc. I have the last card ATI graphics and direct X 11, then why the direct X error message? Tried Compatibility Mode set reading under Win XP sp2, the game still will not play, and even direct X error message came.
Installed in Doom 3. When I tried to play it, it goes in the first screen of doom, but with the main playing surface in the lower right corner makes it unplayable because you can't see the OK or Cancel buttons. A run yet compatibility mode and still the same problem.
Why is Windows 7 64 bit as a big missed with old games? Please help, how can I get these 3 games to play on my win7 64 bit computer?

Thanks for your advice.
I should have done a little more research before asking my question, my apologies for wasting time anyones. The C & C Tiberium Wars game works now on my Win7 64 bit computer but only after I downloaded the 263 MB C & C3 update patch. Also, after you perform the procedure in compatibility mode, the game runs and plays OK. With Doom3, all I had to do was check the compatibility re fonts to display box, because I was running Win7 in large fonts/icons. Doom3 now works OK. As I uninstalled it C & C Generals, I have not bothered with it. I guess in some cases of incompatibility, the answer is to install the latest update for the game /patch, and then run the compatibility mode.

If you have professional, enterprise or ultimate edition, you can use OE in XP mode. There is no standalone version.
How to use Outlook Express in Windows 7
http://www.oehelp.com/OEnWin7.aspxI went with Thunderbird. It's not exactly like OE, but I like much more than WLMail.

For your Favorites:
