Don't Win 7, no logon, safe mode or the bios

I have a Lenova PC with Win 7 pro installed. Yesterday, there was an automatic update. I can't login, run safe mode, or enter the bios. I did NOT forget my password to login and read the forums for about four hours now, trying every suggestion without success. Everything seems to want the password. for example. Run the command. Other ideas would be appreciated. At this point I don't care even to do a full format and reinstall. I need the bios to boot from cd or usb, however. I have saved on both os.

Thank you for a very frustrated man who thinks that perhaps he should have done the free upgrade win 10?

Wait a minute.

"My wife is also a user...". I am all about this account. »

So you can start the computer and log into Windows normally - you just cannot log in to your account, that is be the only 'administrator' account that you created.  Is this correct?

It is a Lenovo desktop/Tower computer?

You have a Windows 7 installation DVD or a "system repair disc" (this is something would have created you, not a disc provided by Lenovo) by chance?

I think that by using a wired keyboard allows you to enter in Safe Mode and the configuration of the BIOS utility.  Once in safe mode, you should be able to use the system to go back before the updates restore corrupted your profile.  If this does not work, you will probably need a Windows 7 installation DVD or a "system repair disc.  If you don't have one of those, there are methods to move forward, but Microsoft's policy forbids us to give such advice.

    a. Click Start, then type devmgmt.msc in the start search box then press ENTER.
    b. right-click on the CD and click on uninstall.
    c. restart the computer.

  • Can not open in safe mode / clear the cache because firefox is frozen

I tried to load a page which seems to have had a built-in buggy video ad, and now Firefox is stuck. It stops responding, but when I force quit and reopen it, it opens the offending page, still too and it freezes again. I tried to restart my computer and reinstall Firefox and the problem continues to be. I can't follow the advice I've seen here on open mode without failure or clear my cache, because Firefox crashes before I can do it. I there a way to make these Firefox outdoors? I use Mac OS X 10.6.8 if that matters.

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

I have a question where Firefox wont ' quit and give a message "not responding" after I've been using Google Mail. It works fine when I'm not using this program. I tried Safe Mode and the problem still happens when I go on Google Mail, so it is not connected with modules, extensions, etc.

Thanks for anyone who can help me. PS. Keep the answers in simple terms please.

    Hi BSRC$, in stock

    1. You have security software installed on the computer?
    2. You receive an error message when you restart the computer?

Reinstalling Windows XP to the factory setting would not be the first option.

It is possible that some third-party programs or the services installed on the computer interfere with the installation of service pack 3.

I suggest that you try to uninstall service pack 3 from the computer by using the recovery console and subsequently ask the article below for what to do before installing the service pack 3on the computer.

You have more than one display card? Try to connect your monitor to the another card and see if you can get the display.

That means the AHCI Mode, Mode RAID & SATA IDE Mode in the BIOS settings means

My computer is having problems when I bought all first it was from another provider which came as a set overclocked PC up the unit everything needed had to be put in my case & add existing hard drives & DVD etc. readers added on the implementation. I used the same location for more than 10 years before that I always built them myself I can build a good setup computer I correspond to different parts inside each other, and then he tested & sent.
Unfortunately, the store has closed & the owner is sick cannot get their hands on him more & I had to get some add on things like new SSDS & some other bits in my system & the young boy said he would could do this job, but everything went wrong & I lost all new so I decided to recycle me like I used to do it before windows 7-64 came out I was going through a rough patch with me being paraplegic in any case it is difficult to build a new PC, so I chose this store & their confidence that went wrong now & I've been research & learn to catch up with the new technology, I do what I do anyway.
Thing is my system is never one that you can purchase a manufacturer & I left it with the young boy & it came out all memory & was not necessary but of course upset of that ruined the setting completely overclocked so I did it myself & I got the work faster than ever, & quieter PC I just got the score that he had now , so I'm happy with it, but the names I came across while overclocking I came across that I'm not average or really lot as were dealing with Fast CrossfireX DDR RAM 1600 MHz.
Please don't tell me that I should not be messing around with what I made since 1989 & made great strides in how everything works, I am not aware about this sort of thing I know SATA what it is & done, but those responsible for setting came from the part of overclocking in the BIOS I put then correctly , but I wanted to know what they represent in more depth. Thanks to anyone who can put me wise on these 3 points only. Malcolm.

I'm pretty sure that you are on the wrong "forum" for this type of topic. This forum is designed as a support Pro-type Surface ultrabook/tablets and tablet-like Surface.

    That said,

AHCI - Advanced Host Controller Interface - this is a hardware mechanism that allows the software to communicate with the devices Serial ATA (SATA). It offers features such as connecting hot and native command queuing (NCQ).

IDE - Integrated Drive Electronics - IDE is basically the 'old' version of AHCI without connection to hot and NCQ. (It is usually used during the era the Parallel ATA (PATA) hard drives)

Now. Mode AHCI and IDE mode - what is - this? IDE mode is to give you the greatest compatibility with older operating systems. AHCI is as I mentioned above, a modern version of the IDE - use the AHCI mode if you are running recent operating systems (Windows Vista + and Linux kernel 2.6.19+).) IDE mode will allow you to connect older operating systems with SATA drives.

As I mentioned above, SATA is Serial ATA and the replacement of hard drives Parallel ATA (PATA).

RAID - this is a storage technology where combine you multiple disks in a unit of 'single', depending on the mode, there may be RAID-0 and RAID-6 and each with different hard drive configurations. I will explain the simple examples: RAID-0 , which is the distribution but no parity or mirroring, this means that there is no data redundancy, if there is a failure on a disc, it will cause the loss of data on the entire RAID array. Ex: You 0110 as writing the data, 01 goes on disk 1 and 10 goes on disc 2, allowing a faster data read/write access.

RAID-1- This is the opposite of RAID-0, which is mirrored without interlacing (no parity or the other). Basically, this means that you have an exact clone of disk 1 disk 2 disk 1 failure.

RAID0 + 1 is that both RAID 1 and 0 is, IE interlacing (write data simultaneously to two [or more]. disks more mirroring failure) the minimum amount of disks required for this type of installation is 4 IDENTICAL drives.

There is also RAID 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. That is just more implemented different configurations of distribution/parity/mirroring on disks.

That being said, your RAID mode will allow you for some type of RAID configuration, if you choose to do so.

Supplement: Many SATA controllers can enable AHCI separately or in combination with RAID support. Recommend Intel choose RAID mode on their motherboards, allowing also the AHCI, rather than AHCI/SATA mode for maximum flexibility (in the case that you ever want to build a RAID array), because there are a few problems that occurs, usually BSOD, when you choose a different mode once an operating system is already installed.

    Hello chaim handler1,.

I suggest to try in a clean boot in order to eliminate any possible conflict of third parties:

Step 1: Perform a clean boot
Note If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.
    a. log in the computer using an account with administrator rights.
    b. ClickStartCollapse this includes this image, typemsconfig.exe in the search box, theStart then press ENTER to start the System Configuration Utility.Collapse this includes this imageIf you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or clickContinue.
    c. arencontre, clickSelective Startup tab and then click on clear theLoad startup items check box. (Use Boot check box is not available.)
    d. on theServicestab, select hide it all the box, check Microsoft services, and then clickDisable all.

Note following this step lets Microsoft services continue to operate. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.
    e. click OK, and then to clickRestart.
Step 2: Enable half the services
    a. follow steps 1a and 1B to start the System Configuration utility.
    b. click on the services tab and then click to select theHide all Microsoft services checkbox.
    c. Click to select half of the check boxes in the service list.
    d. click OK, and then to clickRestart.

Step 3: Determine whether the problem returns
If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 and 2. In step 2, click to clear half of the check boxes that you have initially enabled in the service list.

If the problem does not occur, repeat steps 1 and 2. In step 2, select only half of the remaining check boxes that are cleared in the service list. Repeat these steps until you have selected all the check boxes.

If only one service is selected in the list of services, and you the problem persists, the service selected the cause of the problem. Go to step 6. If no service is causing this problem, go to step 4.
Step 4: Enable half of the startup items
    a. perform a clean boot by repeating step 1.
    b. click the theStartup tab and then click to select half of the check boxes in the list of items of theStartup.
    c. click OK, and then to clickRestart.

Step 5: Determine whether the problem returns
If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 and 4. In step 4, click to clear half of the check boxes that you have initially enabled in the list of items of theStartup.

If the problem does not occur, repeat steps 1 and 4. In step 4, select only half of the remaining check boxes that are disabled in the list of items of theStartup. Repeat these steps until you have selected all the check boxes.

If only one startup item is selected in the startup item list, and you still experience the problem, start selected in the list element is the service that is causing the problem. Go to step 6.

If no startup item causes this problem, a Microsoft service most likely the cause of the problem. To determine which Microsoft service may be the cause of the problem, repeat step 1 and step 2 without selecting theHide all the box Microsoft services at every step.
    Step 6: Resolve the problem
After you determine the startup item or the service that is causing the problem, contact the manufacturer of the program to determine if the problem can be solved. Or, run the System Configuration utility, and then click to clear the check box of the element of the problem.
Step 7: Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
    a. ClickStart collapse that includes this image, typemsconfig.exe in the search box and press ENTER. Collapse this includes this image
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or clickContinue.
    b. on the arencontre tab, click Start zone option, and then click OK.

Assuming you have the office showing with all applications minimized or closed, Tab or F6 should pass the Start button and a few other "elements" on the taskbar.  Look closely and you will see a light preview highlighting of the selected item.  Press the Enter key to activate it.

In XP Safe Mode, the cycle is start button > Quick Launch toolbar > [of any application taskbar icon] > clock > desktop icons.  While the Quick Launch toolbar is highlighted, the arrows move among the icons in the QL toolbar.  While the desktop icon is highlighted, the arrow keys will be touring all the desktop icons.
