  Yesterday I updated my Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows. For the installation, I have not used any key.

  I updated my machine too, but there was no reason for any activation key because the original version of Win8 has already been activated.

  Can you please say which model of laptop you have and that use you version original Win8 that you got with your machine?

  So, I have the activation key in the label on the back of my Tecra but I don't have the media with OS!

  If you want to install the original recovery image, you must create restore DVD first. This recovery disk, you can use for installing the OS.
  In the user s manuals document clearly described how you can do so before you swap HDD create recovery disc in first.

  Product key to the label part of the preinstalled version.

  Your laptop comes with a Windows 8.1 key and that's what you bought according to your post.

  You must purchase a license from Microsoft or a supplier activation key.

  Windows 8/8.1 computers have their keys Win grouped in the BIOS. They do not come with WCC tights and distinct keys. Once you make an HP system recovery, system will get his key and will be activated. HP and every seller is entitled to share the key.

  OK worked the #5 option in the link.  run the vbs file gave me the key to the eprom.

  HP will not keep a copy of your key of Activation of Windows, nor will Microsoft – however using your recovery DVD to reinstall the operating system (if you need to) won't require this key...
