• Need for invalid shortcuts keyboards

  I've been using a Microsoft Media Center Edition Infa-red keyboard with windows xp professional edition for about 2 months now. The problem that I am facing began a few days ago and I have tried everything I know how to fix it. The problem is that, with the use of ANY program, pushing some keys by themselves, WITHOUT pushing CTRL, ALT or SHIFT too, will trigger commands within windows. For example: push F will bring up a screen of windows, pushing search L locks computer, R will bring up the guest of execution, E opens windows Explorer... to name a few. I even tried to raise a word processor and see if the problem is gone, and he did not. I can't even type. Im not sure how this problem started since that everything was fine until a few days ago, the only thing I can think is that my 9 month old pounded some keys on the keyboard and activated a sort of typed command. I did a search in Help and the thing the closest I found was a reference to "natural shortcuts keyboard" which listed orders, but nothing on how to turn it off.

  Here is a list of the things I tried to solve this problem, that does NOT work:

  • Use a different keyboard.
  • Check drivers for peripherals and ensured they were up-to-date.
  • Disabled ALL facilities Access Options
  • Restarting the computer... as many times
  • Searched for hours through the forums here
  • Did a search extended through the windows, built using
  • Check all windows updates to see if any kind of keyboard tricks has been installed

  Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help you.

  UPDATE

  Been tooling autour with windows because on the last 3 hours now and finally 'fixed.' While it would have been nice to find an easier way to solve this problem, the only solution I found was to go to Device Manager and remove all material for Media Center IR keyboard profiles, then unplug the IR receiver, wait a few seconds and then plug the receiver IR back in. XP then detects "new hardware" and automatically install the drivers and the hardware profiles for the Media Center keyboard. Now I hope I can keep my month olds 9 paws on the keyboard.

  Hello. I've recently updated my satellite pro a100-828 to windows vista, and things work well to a large extent with two exceptions:

  1. I can't figure out how to activate the shortcut keyboard-support: media-keys to the left and the fn keys do nothing. There seems to be no shortcut keyboard-utility for windows vista in the drivers * tion. So what to do?
  2. the standby electricity utility is not available, which is good because of the power saver new vista. Except that I can't dim the screen, so the battery does not last me too long. How can I do this?

  Does anyone know how we can integrate the typing shortcuts feature when the user types in our BlackBerry applications? For example, when users type two spaces it automatically a point (.). When it comes to an email the first field space will add a @ and the following spaces add periods (.). Not sure if there is an API for this or if we apply this ourserlves.

  Work on a new website, I started to work on my old laptop (macbook white) with Dreamweaver 5.0 is installed.   My work computer running OS x 10.8, my two laptops run OS x 10.9. Therefore, if a shortcuts are somehow reserved by the system, I guess they should not work on my old laptop.

  Judge that there is no shortcut associated with these orders. I tried to add shortcuts, but that doesn't work anymore. I select the command, click the + and press the desired key combination (shift + command + >). The window disappears. Probably because the ">" is also the "." and '-command.' is the abbreviation for "Cancel"...

  I did some more digging and found the shortcuts are stored in the Menus.xml file, buried deep in the folder Application Support/Adobe etc. But this file is only there after making a duplicate of the original keyboard settings. I opened this file (in Dreamweaver) and found that the shortcuts for dash/raise the code are here, but for some reason any that is ignored by Dreamweaver. I removed Dreamweaver of the computer and re-installed, no chance.

  I made a new set, has opened the new xml file and first removed the shortcuts, save the file, added shortcuts and saved again. Now they work.

  But still, I would like to know why he didn't in the first place...

• Satellite Pro L10: Failed installation shortcuts keyboard F1/3/4

  Recently, hard drive formatted and reinstalled windows. Keyboard shortcuts (fn + F1/3/4) not working and others have not changes (e.g. volume up but it does not show me the meter). Tried to reinstall the tools & utilities cd and downloaded the driver, but both times, he got to the "Preparing to install" step and close unexpectedly without an error message.

  Thank you for using answers forum.

  It happens only in Word? I ask because I noticed that you said it happened while you were typing your post and that would have been in the browser and not Word and wanted to make sure that we are properly troubleshooting. The first thing I think we should try to use a clean boot to see if we can reduce the problem, here is an article that describes how to do a clean boot, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135. After the step that follows 1 test and see if the problem still exists, if it is not happen then follow the remaining steps to narrow down what is causing the problem.

  • Update BIOS
  • Installed/uupdated toouchpad ddriver and ddriver of entry
  • Touchfreeeze installed
  • Disabled the keyboard driver in the Device Manager and rebooted the computer

  None of these steps solved the problem.
