Down computer after windows XP updated today

Hello!
I hope someone can help me.
This afternoon a microsoft XP update came through on my computer and they said should be restart to take effect. I opened outlook and the internet. I said that I should restart later.
The computer then froze and perhaps rather looking forward I turned it off after that it does meet.
It will now not start upward and from the beginning he just tells me to choose the safe mode option, (with netweoking & compant promt, last known good configuration and finally start normally.)
I went through each of these options, but none works and it keeps just bike around every 30 seconds in the same.
I tried to put my Windows disk in and start one and it tells me that there is no hard drive :(
What happened and can anyone suggest what I could do?
I am a teacher and I have all my files on the computer that are not saved :(:(
Thanks in advance
Ruth

Hi JoeRuth,

Thanks for posting. If after you insert your Windows XP disc you still do not see the hard drive there are chances that you have hardware failure any. To backup your data, I would recommend if you are uncomfortable or you know someone who is comfortable with the computer hardware, remove the disc and by adding it as a secondary drive to a different PC with a Windows installation already in place. This will allow you to browse and backup your files if your hard drive still works.

After your files are backed up, then you should try to do a repair on the operating system installation if your hard drive is detected. If your hard drive is still not detected and you have no RAID volume or unrecognized SATA jury, you will have to buy a new hard drive and install a new OS. As with any hardware problems, if your computer is an OEM I highly recommend that do you to troubleshoot and perform diagnostics before making replacements.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any questions. Shawn - Support Engineer - MCP, MCDST

  • Blue screen after windows xp update...

    I got the blue screen now well documented after windows xp update. I'm away on business and so unable to make my records at home. My question is without the disk is there a way I can fix it the laptop? Microsoft took 3 days to order discs and now tell me it might take 7 to 10 days so that they arrive. Not really customer service.

    Anyone has any ideas, is there something that you can download? or is there a fix on the Web site?

    Thank you

    What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

    A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

    All my files and pictures have been deleted and all my settings for my computer after the update of windows. I need some answers! Microsoft you need to find something to say to me. WTF! Your update has ruined my computer

    Shawn,

    I think this isn't the Windows update that caused this problem. It could be something else the cause. Windows Update never removes any of your files and folders stored in the computer.

    You can try a system restore to a previous point when the computer was working properly.

  • Help - Windows crashes after installation of update today...

    Hello

    System: Windows XP 2002, Service Pack 3 (do not know how to tell whether 32 bit or 64 bit?  My graphics are 64-bit, I think)
    Computer: Dell Inspiron 530
    Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
    Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT
    1 browser: Firefox (updated today) 3.6.14
    2 browser: IE 8.0.6001.18702
    Flash: 10.2.152.32 (installed today)
    Antivirus: Norton Internet Security 17.8.0.5
    Firewall: Motorola SBG900 (mentioning only because it made me more questions in the past)

    Tried the upgrade Firefox and Flash (for Firefox) today, as requested. Installed everything fine. Tried to watch a clip video on CNN.com and got the blue screen and the crash.

    I uninstalled both and reinstalled. Crashed again.

    I then tried uninstalling both still once and downloaded the Flash for IE to see if it was a Flash problem or a Firefox problem. This version crashed too - blue screen with an error message.

    A friend thought it might be a RAM problem and asked me to clean my msconfig - I did. No solution.

    I's went to the display manager provided the graphics card and then examined for updates for the device driver. Unfortunately, the system thinks I have the latest and greatest.

    It is the measure of my computer knowledge. I don't know how to disable my Norton, and frankly, not sure it's a great idea, as it has my software firewall in...  Don't know how/why/if that would even help?

    Here is the lower part of the error message I got one at the moment I am the blue screen crash (in which case it helps)...

    STOP: 0X0000008E (0XBA490925, 0XA880D820, 0XE0000001, 0X00000000)
    watchdog.sys base - address BA490925, BA90000, Date stamp 480254ab

    A simpler solution for me would be if there was a way to recover the previous version of Flash... but it doesn't seem to be only an old archived version I can find...

    Can someone help/offers solutions that a non-geek might be able to follow (and not spoil the other stuff on the computer)?  Thank you!  :-)  It lasted four hours and counting so far...  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much!
    Liz

    Liz,

    Stop it!  Cancel not toolbars, do not uninstall codes.

    Start your computer.  Once everything is calm, open: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

    Place the cursor over the flash window, right-click, choose settings, search for "hardware acceleratio" and uncheck it.

    They will try to tell you, this is your driver, but some adobe-wingnut has a buffer uncontrolled in its code.

    Anyway, it is fixed in the next version.

  • Some keys no longer work on Satellite A200-196 after Windows 7 update

    Hi all, I've just upgraded computer laptop of my partner (a Toshiba Satellite A200-196) to Windows 7 after you initially install Windows XP on it (it came with Vista).

    After the XP update, I noticed that some keys were not working. I don't remember the process that I used to solve the problem, but the difficulty that I did, and they were all soon works perfectly. So this is a software problem and not material. I think he might have something to do with the FN key - but I can't be sure.

    Now, I just upgraded the same machine and I have exactly the same problem. Keys that don't work are Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L.

    Can anyone help please? I tried to reinstall Win7 and the problem is still there.

    Thank you very much

    Andy

    > The keys that don't work are Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L.

    These keys have nothing to do with the missing software.
    Indeed, the function key (FN key) needs a Toshiba utility particular installation / software to make it work, but the keys Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L are common keys on the keyboard that don t need no special software.

    That's why I think that the problem is hardware related: simple keyboard malfunction.
    I guess that all of these keys work correctly if you sign in and use the external USB keyboard.

  • Printer problem after Windows XP updates on 06122013

    Title updates: Windows XP original on 06122013

    Updates of Windows XP on 06122013 seemed to make me lose contact with printer HP LJ1200 and had to perform the restoration of the system to 06112013 do work again. The printer is set up as a parallel device, running on Port DOT4_001 (according to article of Port in the properties of the printer) and was removed in the LPT1 Device Manager and computer rebooted and reloaded LPT1.
    Tracking the whole Troubleshooting MS system under properties and nothing seemed to allow printing, so I restored the machine on the eve. Now the printer works.

    Computer is a Xeon E1395 of double a ASUS PC - DL Deluxe Intel

    Everyone still faces a problem of printing with the new updates?

    Hi Michael,

    I see you got a problem with printer HP LJ1200 after installation of updates recently offered from Windows update.

    What exactly happened when you were trying to print after the recent updates? Have you received an error message?

    Thanks for the sharing of information when you perform a restore as solved the problem.

    This issue would have occurred as a result of updates related to the printer or the additional updates to the hardware device connected to the computer. Sometimes, when these problems occur after Windows update, we should always check the specific updates that have been installed right before the problem occurred. In this way, we can identify the update that caused the problem.

    As the problem does not persist now, I suggest you to download and manually install the updates individually to determine the exact cause of the problem.

    Please let us know if you need help on this question.

    Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next

    If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.

    Press F8 at the startup/power and the list of startup options, use THE ARROW key to select Safe mode > and then press ENTER.

    System restore steps according to the info above.

    Also:

    2. click on start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
  • Unable to turn computer and Windows 7 updates
    Hello
    Earlier today, my computer has the latest updates for Windows 7 installed on it, I believe that those who have a Service Pack of Windows 7, and now when I push the power button on the computer, it will be impossible to turn on.  Is updates, that the reason why the computer has failed.  It was working fine this morning with no sign of problems.
    If the computer isn't able to turn it on, it's sounds more likely to be a problem with the power button or power.
  • Reinstall the original software after Windows 10 update
    When I bought my HPE-180 t, it came with Adobe products already installed as part of the package I bought.  After the Windows 10 update, it became necessary to reinstall Adobe first Elements 8 and she asks a code that did not come with disks. What should I do?
    Windows 10 normally do that unless the application is too old.  Adobe Elements 8 first seems to be 2009, well before 10 Windows.  You may need to get a newer version.
