Downgrade from Windows Vista to XP on Satellite A200-22I

Hello

Maybe this topic has arised more than once, but someone can help me?
I just bought a Toshiba Satellite A200 [22I with windows Vista, but I want to downgrade to XP.]

How can I do?

Thank you very much

It's easy,

You'll need a genuine Windows XP CD, drivers and little time.

Next, you need to 'wake' drivers Windows XP AHCI the CD because otherwise the HARD drive would not be recognized during the installation of windows XP. Here´s a link to a very good education how to integrate these specific drivers for a Windows XP CD: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB85017Z0000R01.htm

I know it sounds complicated, but trust me, you´re doing so once and you know after all. ;)

I would also like to download the XP drivers for your machine at the following site: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

Your model is a PSAE6E which means you need to find the drivers for a Satellite A200 (PSAE6) and download. Burn it to a CD to have available every time when you need it...

When you install the drivers please take care of the installation order how do I install the drivers; I can't tell you the entire order, but the most important drivers must be installed in the following order:

-BIOS for XP (V5.60)<- i="" would="" do="" this="" before="" installing="">

Then after the installation of Windows XP:
-chipset
-Storage Manager
-display driver
-sound
-lan driver
-wlan driver

and then the other stuff that is for this model

That's all, if you have questions, just ask.

Welcome them

  • can I downgrade from windows Vista Basic to windows xp home sem

I have windows vista home basic system. can I go down to windows xp home edition.

    Hello

There is NO right to downgrade from Vista Home Basic to XP.

You need Vista Business or Vista ultimate for this.

If you want XP, see if your computer manufacturer has XP drivers available for your laptop computer/computer model.

If the XP drivers are available for this purpose, Microsoft sells more than XP, so you should have to take the risk of buying a pirated software on the Net, which is not recommended at all.

If there is no XP drivers, XP would not work correctly in all cases.

I have Windows Vista (window professional vista OEMAct) so I want to Downgrade to Windows XP Vita, please provide GOLD key of Windows XP guide

You cannot "downgrade".  The only way to switch to XP is to install XP to clean.  Before you anything make sure that XP drivers are available from the manufacturer of your computer.  If this isn't the case, stick with Vista.

Vista downgrade rights ended when Vista was removed from retail sales.  In any case, they were available from the computer manufacturers.

Nobody is going to provide you with a XP product key.  The only way to get a XP product key is to buy XP.

If you have a software, you need to run under XP, you can do so by using Microsoft Virtual PC 2007.  However, you must provide your own copy of XP, including a product key.

  • Downgrade from Windows Vista

Hi, I recently bought a computer Windows Vista of the store a few weeks ago.

I used it and it was working fine and I did the work on this subject.

I went to do something else for about two days and I'll be back, and it's on Windows 7.

This fact has absolutely no sense to me.

Nobody was home, updates to automatic update only notified me if I wanted to install things, not automatically installed, so I don't know what happened.

Windows 7 made my computer very slow and I don't know even why it is Windows 7 in the first place.

The computer was built for Vista, but as it was built for Vista, in my opinion, that it can't handle really just 7 to full capacity.

I want to downgrade to Vista, but I can't because the PC came with the drive.

And I checked to see if there was a windows.old file, but it was not.

It is as if someone has installed Windows 7 with a CD and just reinstalled everything I had on the subject.

I hope you guys can help.

    Hello

I'm sorry, but Windows 7 does not settle by itself and Windows 7 is not an update of Windows.

You must physically install Windows 7.

    Go back/reinstall Vista:

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

Installation of Windows 7 was able to destroy this option:

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery on the drive Partition hard reinstall Windows how much you bought your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Them or us ask the right sequence of key.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Downgrade from Windows Vista Home Edition to Windows XP Pro Dutch on Satellite P200-15N

Not knowing where I really should put this... I put it in this part of the forum too :)

    So:

    Hello

I bought a new laptop with Vista Home and two Partitions... I would like to install on the second partition "Windows XP pro" (with official key & SP2 included)! But when I run the XP Cd I get an error that the HD is not recognized... So I searched on the forum here, to see if there is a possibility of passby he...

    So what I did:
    (1) I download the "Intel storage drivers" of->
    http://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Filter_Results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2101&OS FullName = Windows * + XP + Professional & lang = eng & strOSs = 44 & submit = Go %21

    (2) I used the Floppy machine, to create a floppy disk with the necessary drivers (also from the above site)

    (3) I downloaded a copy of freeware "Nlite".

    (4) I also downloaded the additional drivers on the "Toshiba" site itself (Lan, storage,...)

    (5) I did a "Xp Pro P200-15N" card and put all the drivers... Including the Exe I downloaded from the link above named "iata76_cd.exe"...

    (6) I have made a new Win XP bootable CD with "Nlite" & added all the drivers that I downloaded and followed the procedure given by "Nlite". He made a new bootable CD (with all the drivers and .exe and .inf, etc...)

    (7) then I boot my laptop with the CD, but it always gives an error on sata drives... (that it can not be found...)

So my question is... What I'm doing wrong and what should the other drivers I download to make it work? I have an external USB floppy drive... If additional drivers must be added... So I hope that there is someone can help to Ho...

I install XP for professional reasons. Things Vista Home can not handle...

Hope I got a respons soon... CZ, looks really URGENT...

THX in advance and sorry if there are errors in my writing (I still am of Belgium)

    UPDATE *.
The method above does not work for me... So took my USB floppy drive and put the drivers on it (hit 'F6' at the start, added the drivers found on the link above, it install it)...
Then I could also choose a partition...

So far so good... He asked me if wanted to format it or not... I said ok...
Then, when he wanted to start the copy, I got:

Insert the CD-rom or the floppy disk with the name
    Driver Intel Matrix Storage Manager
    In station of A:

    * Press ENTER when you are ready...

And I do not know what I do... CZ hitting enter doesn't do anything: s

So what I'm doing wrong, it becomes really ANNOYING and frustrating... I did everything they said in the link, in fact the method with f6, but still now reaction: s... Everyone?

    Sincerely,
    Frédéric

    Thanks for the latest info!

My computer was working OK. To speed it up, I decided to reformat the hard disk using the recovery DVD provided by Toshiba. Recovery failed. I tried several ways but keep having the same problem, i.e. the process is going in a loop.

What happens can be summarized as follows: when I turn on the computer using the DVD in the drive for recovery disk, the computer by loading windows files and then formats the hard drive, but stop about 18 percent through the State. Every time that happens the problem starts (X:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe) at ImageX Tools for Windows; and mentions that Files\Toshiba\HD2Go\sea160s_HD.wmv c: Program... WimCopyF ileEx failed. Other errors are: error restore image. The drive is not ready; and ERROR: ImageX would not apply VISTA E:\05006XSP.swm 2 of ODD Index to C:\. ; Press a key... And the screen turns white. There is another window of the screen when i to this happens, who says the administrator: X:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe open in the BACK. After closing this window of the screen empties and the computer for everything in then opens in a Windows boot manager called window and said that windows could not start, winload could not be loaded because the application is missing or damaged.

If I try to boot from HARD drive recovery, there is no success. I tried turning on the computer while pressing C, or pressing 0 (zero) or F8, but without success. I can't go to the page where I can repair the HARD drive as described in the user manual.

  • Downgrade from Windows 7 to Windows Vista

    Hello

I want to ask something about the downgrade from Windows 7 to Windows Vista Edition Home Premium!

My laptop is Satellite L510. When I bought it, it came with Windows Vista Home Premium as its OS so I already created a recovery disk.
Now, if I update to Windows 7 and if I want to downgrade to window Vista... often I just use this recovery disc to format to Windows Vista everything as before?

Because they do not have the Windows Vista installation disk when I bought this laptop.
And I want to ask now the window Vista already got a healthy recovery partition in my right HDdrive? If I update to Windows 7 then did the Window Vista healthy recovery partition is still there, or only the restore disc that I create before you reformat Windows Vista Home Premium box?

Thanks to all who try to answer my question!

All new laptops are shipped without DVD upgraders and everyone must create one. This is why Toshiba has designed small Creator called Toshiba Recovery tool. With this tool you can create recovery DVDs and use them for the installation of the OS more far.

Whenever when you use, you'll have to factory settings and it will be like on the first day when launch you for the first time.

When you have this recovery media, you can do whatever you want and, of course, install Win7 with HARD drive. One day, when you want to have Vista again just use created recovery DVD and you will have factory again.

When you bought your laptop recovery image was recorded on the second partition of HARD drive in the folder called HDDRecovery. This image can be used to install Vista with the factory only settings. When you install Win7 these files can no longer be used and Vista must be installed from recovery created DVDs.
