Downgrading to XP and then upgrade to Windows 7
My Tower has a sticker that says OS; Win 7 downgrade to XP Pro. I also have a sticker that gives me a product code for Win 7 PR. These stickers will allow me to upgrade XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro? I don't have a disc. Operating system has been installed on the computer when I bought the computer. Thank you.
Hi KathyWaggie,
When you install Windows 7 Pro, you will need a product key. You have the product key to activate Windows, but do not have the installation media. If you can not install Windows 7 Pro. I recommend contacting the manufacturer of your PC and buy the disks to install them. They usually sell them for a good price. You can't stay on Windows XP for a long time, in 3 days, support ends. Once you get Windows 7 Pro, install and use the product key to activate Windows.
Don't forget to mark this reply as your answer if it helps and let us know what happens.

I explore what I need to do to upgrade my imac. My current OS is x version 10.5.8. I read the posts on this site advises users to buy 10.6 (Snow leopard) and then upgrade more far away. Since I was only 1 GB of memory, do I need additional memory installed first? Is this possible? I have an Intel Core 2 Duo 2 GHz processor and 1 GB of memory. My Info says memory I have 1 Bank empty. Thanks for any help!
You need to install more RAM before moving to Snow Leopard and need to do before moving to Lion or newer. Buy it from a source OWC or Crucial.

Photoshop 4 and 7 upgrade, now Windows 10 does not accept PS 4. How to install my versions?
Hi Tuulah6441378,
Photoshop 4 and 7 are very old versions, downloads for them are no longer available and the operating system you are using is the most recent, so there will be compatibility problems.
Adobe has not tested these applications on newer operating systems.

Photoshop 4 and 7 upgrade, now Windows 10 does not accept PS 4. How can I manage my versions to download?
The download, it's what you do to get a file from a Web site to your computer... Installation is what you do to have the installation files to put a program on your computer and the link to your operating system... what you do... Download or install?
If you mean that Win10 will not allow you to INSTALL the program, read below
Cloud & Win10 https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/Windows_10_compatibility_FAQ.html
-In addition, only CURRENT products will be tested and updated for compatibility with Windows 10
- so if you have an older program, update you to Windows 10 at YOUR risk of problems
-You can get CS6 and previous programs to install and run, or you can not (some do, some don't)
-IF not, Details of the message from the error messages and a person may be able to help
An idea that MAY work to install or run some programs in Windows 10 old... works for some, not for others
- or run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign permissions... said FULL yet, but sometimes it is necessary for all Adobe programs (this is same as using an administrator account)

I updated to Windows 10 and then back to Windows 7. Now Adobe Reader does not work. He said: I'm missing acroread.msi. I tried to uninstall the program, so I could re - install, but it will not uninstall either lack of acroread.msi. Can anyone help? I tried all the troubleshooting steps that I could find in the forums and online without success.
I managed to fix it. I found the Mr. Fix It tool on the Microsoft Web site and who was running, and it worked. He fixed the corrupted registry file and allowed me to install the player. I had tried it once before, but it has not been successful. This time, it worked.

I get a stop ox0000007 (0xFFFFFADE5E0323C0, 0xFFFFFFFFC0000034, 0 x 0000000000000000, 0 x 0000000000000000)
Note: Make sure the virses on your computer. remove any installed hard drives or hard drive controllers newley. check the hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and completed. and restart your computer.
I've changed hard drives, re-formatted and partitioned each. Attempts to load XP always get these results. Win 7 loads without problem.
You really have a 64-bit version of XP?
The Windows XP installation CD does not recognize SATA drives. You must either have a SATA drive driver on a floppy disk (floppy drive) so that you can "press F6" during installation or (b) a slipstreamed XP install CD that incorporates the driver SATA or (c) temporarily change the BIOS in legacy IDE mode, install XP and then install the SATA drivers and SATA mode (this can be a bit complicated (: link1, Link2).

any help would be appreciated - we could even make it through the registration form if it would make it easier
You don't need to install 98 98SE then XP! Just start with XP and when he wants to for validation qualification just previous OS Exchange temporarily the XP for the 98 or 98SE CD-ROM and then swap back the XP disc to continue. You can also do the same thing with the ISO Images as well.

We have two computers on a home network: I had built in 2008 with Windows XP and then I bought a HP on shelf with Vista for my children. I connected them together; the XP pc is connected to the ADSL and the Vista pc gets access to the internet through the network as well as access to a wireless network laser printer. I'm looking to upgrade to Windows 7. I would like my own upgrade to Windows 7 Professional for my XP programs, etc. are always usable/accessible. What I need to upgrade the computer Vista business, too, or can I just switch to the Home version, while keeping our network?
You will need to buy two separate editions of Windows 7. You'll have to do a custom installation of Windows XP without worrying, there is no way to upgrade Windows XP to Windows 7.
According to the edition of Windows Vista you have, you can do an upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7.
The upgrade to Windows XP?
Please read these instructions carefully and completely before you begin installing Windows 7: there are important steps that you must follow to upgrade your PC from Windows XP to Windows 7 in order to preserve your files and settings.
Before you begin, you'll need to backup all your data to an external storage device, and you will need all the installation discs for the programs that you want to keep. Please make sure that you have an external hard drive (see details below).
More detailed instructions are available at windows.microsoft.com/upgrade-windows-xp. Here are the basic steps.
1. start Windows Upgrade Advisor (windows.microsoft.com/upgradeadvisor) to see if there are known issues that may affect the installation and the question of whether you should install the version of 32 or 64 bit Windows 7.
2 back up your files and settings on an external hard drive using Windows Easy Transfer (windows.microsoft.com/windows-easy-transfer). If you do not have an external hard drive, you will not be able to use Windows Easy Transfer. Alternatively, you can copy the files you want to keep on a USB stick, CD or DVD.
3. you will need to manually reinstall your programs, such as Microsoft Office, after I installed Windows 7. Gather the installation for your programs and all partner/license product key discs. You may be able to download programs from the Internet. For example, Windows Live Messenger can be installed from the download.live.com/messenger.
4. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in your PC. When asked "which type of installation you want. Click on "Custom (advanced)."
5. when Windows 7 is installed, use Windows Easy Transfer to restore your files and settings.
If you are not comfortable Windows 7 installation, check with a local retail or the services of the PC company store to see if they offer upgrade services.

The upgrade of Windows Vista?
When important changes to your computer, for example an upgrade, it is always recommended that you back up your system before installing a new version of Windows. In your case, you can upgrade to Windows 7 depending on the edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you have installed. If you are running a 32-bit version of Vista and upgrade to a 64-bit (Windows 7 edition) version, you'll have a pure make install, it is the opposite case.
If you are using Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium consumer editions, you can only upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate. In addition, you can make downgrades, which means, if you are running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition now, you cannot downgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. You perform logical upgrades:
Windows Vista Home Basic > Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Edition Home Premium > Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Enterprise
Windows Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 Ultimate.

I does not, but I got the problem fixed. I've downgraded to an older version of Thunderbird and then improved. He has not done since.

What is the difference between upgrade repair on-site and anytime upgrade to Windows 7?
What is the diffenence between repair in-Place Upgrade to Windows 7 and upgrade to Windows 7?
An upgrade of the repair is the simple process to install a new version over the existing installation of Windows 7 using your installation DVD. What it does is to replace the files of operating system broken while preserving your personal files, settings and installed applications.
http://notebooks.com/2011/08/30/how-to-do-a-Windows-7-repair-upgrade/
Upgrade upgrades an existing edition of Windows 7 to a higher edition, for example, Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Ultimate. An Anytime Upgrade can't upgrade from earlier versions of Windows such as Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Looking for help to find articles or resources to learn more about how to migrate to a new computer and also upgrade CS5 to CC at the same time. Should I migrate and upgrade?
You don't want to think in terms of migration when it comes to Adobe software. You must install using installation files. There is no need to have installed CS5 unless you plan to use it. There is no way to upgrade of CS5 at CC, there is a reduced plan should soon be interrupted. You get the first annual subscription for almost half of the normal price.
