After crossing the section software & drivers on your Web site, only the full features software is shown when this model is selected, with a note saying that if you only want the print driver, it is available as a separate download named "HP Deskjet basic driver".   I went on the site and checked. You are right.

  Curiously, there is no reference to this "Deskjet basic Driver.

  I don't think there is such a driver.

  Your post indicates that you are running windows 8.1. It should have the Deskjet D1460 as a class pre installed driver.

  Try to use the Add Printer Wizard to install the printer.

  If it is always to give you a problem, try to use the driver of class deskjet 9800.

  For windows 7 32-bit:
  Open the file devices and printers via the Start Menu
  * Select Add a printer
  * Select Add a local printer
  * Select the USB port on the printer connected to it in the list of existing ports
  * Click next and this should get you to the driver selection screen
  * At the bottom of the driver selection screen, select Windows Update (this can take a few minutes)
  * After the Windows Update, browse the manufacturer list until you find HP
  * Scroll the list until you find the HP Deskjet 990c driver
  * Click next
  Printer name and click Next

  If I'm going to see what of printing and go to properties, tell it to print a test page, it seems

  Thank you Tom for trying to help, I had been there and done that, I talked to HP and Microsoft, NO HELP customer support!

  I found a solution, last night I tried the drivers for all versions of Windows, as a last resort, I tried Win 95 and for my
  surprise, it worked.

  Recently was given a HP deskjet 990cxi printer, connected to the PC with USB.  It prints perfectly all computerized docs and images such as Word documents, but when I try to print from Web sites such as shipping labels, invoices, identified Bank, etc. printing is screwed like this:

  to find and solve any problem, but he says that everything is working properly.  I switched browsers, and as a first step, which seemed to work - it print my shipping labels correctly when I printed of IE.  But, after a few prints, he has started to print also biased.  I changed browsers again with the same result. I have cleared the cache, I did everything I can think of, but it still won't print anything a website properly.  (Meanwhile, I went through a black ink cartridges set already.)  Any suggestions?

  Rats.  He was a long shot and not do all that much sense in any case because it was just a feeling.

  If there is a driver for this printer program, I would ask you to reinstall.  There is no software driver for Windows 8.  All you have are the base drivers built into the Windows operating system - and if something goes wrong: Poof!  You are on a stream without paddles.

  It might be about time to consider a nice, new range of HP printers.

  • When you decide that it is nearly time, make sure you consider whether you want a printer that prints borderless photos - some printers have margin restrictions and cannot print "edge to edge"
  • Reflect on ink cartridges and how much you want to buy - some printers use five cartridges because they print pictures fantasies: they use Photo black black in more ordinary.
  • Think whether you need ePrint - do you want to print pictures from the Internet and mobile devices.
  • Still deciding if you want to ONLY wireless or a printer which can be wireless and still be connected by Ethernet or maybe USB - you must check because not every printer connects all the senses.

  I switched to Windows 7 64 bit and my HP 9650 does not work.  Onlline HP asked me to download driver for Deskjet 9800.  It still does not - it can print a photo and then just spits out the paper without printing.  I downloaded the player for 9800 several times and installed several times - no luck.  Then, I downloaded the latest HP Diagnostics (08/03/11) tool.  He said everything was fine EXCEPT the pilot - instructed me to download the latest driver, I've done many times before.  Need help - love the photos it prints!

  I followed on the specific page for this driver and found the same thing - my apologies that there is not a link on this page for basic training.  I did a search on the site hp.com for this text and it took me to a page that has the base driver... • HP Deskjet 1000 printer J110a: download printer drivers

  I quite accidentally deleted the driver for my printer.  Repeated attempts to download a new driver from the HP website have failed.  As far as I can tell it is saying that it only works for Windows 7 and more.  Apparently, I have but can't find out what Windows I have other than Vista.  I can't find any disk that could be with the printer when it was purchased several years ago.

  Please help me find my printer use.  The program on my computer to make documents seens someone else has (Microsoft Works word processor), it seems that I can't take my documents to be printed anywhere.  A place called save them in pdf format, but is not an option my computer gives.  I considered buying a different document program but I don't know that this portable 8-year-old is to put $65 in new software.  I have also considered buying a bu new printer that I have worked very well until I lost the drivers.  Help!

  I managed to make it work.  I went into system preferences and deleted and then added the printer.  He now uses a generic driver.

  HP Deskjet 990cxi had for many years with no problems.  Once the color has begun to come out in pink, I replaced the cartridge from the printer and now it does not print in black and faded rose.  I replaced the cartridge with an another new and still the same results.

• Photosmart HP 7520: continues to receive downloads driver for a printer that I did more.

  How to stop obtaining HP drive downloads for an old printer.  I used to own a HP Photosmart 7520 printer but I replaced it with a printer HP Office Jet Pro 8710 2 months ago. I deleted all the HP programs related to the old printer and remove the printer from my list of Windows 10 printers and removed from the HP Support Assistant.

  However, I still repeatedly get updated driver for printer 7520 and it freezes the computer.

  It's very interesting, but my Windows 7 64-bit system does not list any driver printer tor the 710C.  Printer drivers are for the 450, 460, then 5100.  If the 710c driver is not available, including available pilots would argue the DeskJet 712C printer?

  The drivers are sent through Windows Update.  Try the following: click Start, devices and printers, add a printer.  When the list of printers, click Windows Update.  Wait a few minutes to fill out the list, and then select HP for the manufacturer and HP Deskjet 710C.  For the x 64 version of Windows 7, you must apply the patch after you install the driver.  [Edit - patch is available here.]
