  • I have an external optical drive, but it does allow me to play my DVD because I need to download a decoder. Where can I get the free download decoder so I can playback on player Win medial?

Yes, I own the optical drive SDRW and manages my music tasks perfectly.  But it does not play DVD because I do not have a decoder installed.

It will only allow me to windows Media Player and that where it ends.  I have a HP Mini as a portable laptop, I had to purchase an external optical drive.  I am a satisfied customer and would like to get a decoder free download because I use many Windows applications.

    Thank you

  • Tecra A2: No DVD decoder

I have a laptop Tecra A2 which has been upgraded to Windows XP, all drivers are up to date except when I try to play a DVD in Media Player pop - up appears saying no compatible DVD decoder is installed on this computer.

Is this a driver problem and can I have this free issue?

    Any help well :)

    Hello

I think that you need to install a right codec pack.
I guess you didn't install a MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 codec and therefore it of not possible to play DVDs using the window medial player.

Personally, I prefer the K-Lite Codec Pack Full.
This codec package contains everything that is needed.
Google of this package if you want to download it.

In addition I advise to use free VLC Player.
This player is a free, downloadable tool on the internet.
He plays most of the files and it of really, really great.

  • Media Player11 will not play video (DVD disc). The sound is fine and a DVD decoder was installed.

Where to start... After you download the necessary drivers and also I was able to get my sound work. Then, I bought and downloaded the dvd decoder, InterVideo DVD XPack. When I put a DVD in the drive, Media Player appears and I press play and I hear the sound but I do not see any video!

I tried to download and use other video players, but none have worked so far. Everyone give me reasons why they can not read/play the disc or separate errors. Some have suggested that I change my screen resolution or color quality. I have and nothing makes a difference. Only, I can choose between 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 (16-bit or 32-bit).

  • Dx7500 No. DVD decoding program

    Hello

I ordered 26 HP dx7500 microtours and began to perform a unboxing them conversion.  I work in a library, and some of the staff asked me on DVD playback on computers since the drive supports.  I have released the computers after you restore Windows XP Professional SP3 computers, but noticed that Windows Media Player 11 complains that there is no DVD decoder installed on the computer.  After some research, I noticed a lot of computers with programs of decoder dvd such as Intervideo WinDVD, PowerDVD or something like that.

I looked through all the discs I received (Roxio Creator Business 10 DVD, the HP/Compaq Documentation and Diagnostics DVD, OS of Windows Vista Business SP1 DVD 1 and 2 DVD, DVD, HP restore longer than the Windows XP Professional SP2 operating system!) Restore DVD and the DVD of Office 2007 software) and has not found a DVD decoding program.

Then, the dx7500 comes with the DVD playback software? I had to install a third-party software (VLC Player) in order for DVD playback working, but would rather have something less complex personnel could use / know (PowerDVD, WinDVD, etc.).

    Thank you

  • I accidentally deleted the preinstalled dvd decoder that came with my computer/windows media player. Can I get that back without buying it for a price?

I accidentally deleted all the time and downloaded a free player to replace temporarily called VLC Media Player. Dvd decoder (codec, I think his name...) I don't know, I'm not a computer wiz) has been called something like "Windvd".

System Restore does not all documents.  This will not affect things like the IE Favorites, unless it brings changes to IE itself.

You can always reverse a system restore if you want after the fact.
