Download Firefox contaminated by Artemis Trojan horse! B512E6316312CA8

McKafee don't let me download Firefox from the official site because of this Trojan horse. As part of the download, I also had an analysis of registry (that I didn't ask for) and a program other than the name which I forgot. is this load of shit downloaded as part of the official download of firefox, and that Artemis is really a Trojan horse? If this is the case, then the site of Firefox is not sure.

I suspect that supposed only occurs with the stub Installer Trojan horse detection.

Have you tried to download the full Offline Installer?

  • I received an email to update Firefox and trying to download my McAfee security it was a Trojan horse and stopped downloading

I received an email saying to use the link to update Firefox, on this operation my McAfee security said it was a Trojan horse and stopped the download. I deleted the email, but I just got a second one on. Is it an email address, I can send it to so you can check.

Mozilla do not send email about updated Firefox from a link in the email. Someone is trying to trick you into installing Malware or a virus on your PC under the guise of an update of Firefox.

  • I downloaded Firefox 3.6 on a vista 64-bit computer and got a Trojan horse with the download.

Downloaded firefox 3.6 on a Vista 64 bit machine. Once downloaded, I started having viruses pop up (third party) caveats of protection. Windows defender and IE open and lock-up. It returns a warning whenever I run an application and prevents the execution of most of the programs. Never had this problem with the Mozilla software before. Just curious if anyone else has had a similar problem.

First of all, go to http://www.avg.com/us-en/avg-rescue-cd-download and download the rescue CD. Follow the instructions to create the disc/usb. Then go to the web site of Firefox and download the installation files. Don't go to other sites to get the files.
In Control Panel, choose to uninstall Firefox. Once the uninstall is complete, place AVG Rescue disk in the drive and restart, making sure that the PC boots to the CD/USB. Once the rescue is complete, restart and install Firefox. Make sure you have the latest version of the anti-virus software and firewall running. AVG, Norton and Panda is among the best. I had this problem when I clicked on the link for some antivirus England. It unnamed took over the system and would not let me do anything. I could only get them online by starting in safe mode with internet connection.
    Good luck.

  • Thunderbird is download Trojan horses to \AppData\Local\Temp\nsmail.tmp?

I use Thunderbird on Win 8.1, 64 bit, Windows Defender and EMET. When I'm mischievous looking for emails (some with attachments) I do not open, but transmit to us - cert.gov and UCE.GOV reports e-mail addresses. I am emails in the mode display only text. I run a virus scan afterwards and detection has been coming for Trojan horses in container file C:\Users\ < username > \AppData\Local\Temp\nsmail.tmp, usually with a .scr extension file (as shown in the output of information Defender). An infected file is downloaded on my computer for the operations of Thunderbird? Is - this benign file until the opening? I was under the impression that it's just passed the folder from the server. Can anyone tell/explain about this? Thank you in advance!

SCR files are Windows screensavers. Them are executable files and run and are processed by Windows exactly one. EXE file.

The only risk they represent for you is if you actually run the attachment (Thunderbird cannot do it alone)

The location of the file is where emails are assembled in an e-mail to be sent. The same location and name is used for each mail.

There is no point sending such things for the U.S. Government or anyone else, unless they specifically ask for it. I'm sure you've heard of made massive data capture the NSA. They probably already have your email address, but more to the point, Government and business of cyber security as symantec, kaspersky labs, eset and the folk music of more black hat is all skimming data flowing around the internet. This is how they seem to be able to issue a definition of virus before getting a sample.

  • Security.exe popup windows said I had to download the program to remove 3 Trojan horses

    original title: Windows Security.exe

I was recently surfing the web. I hit a Chinese website. An immediately jumped to the top box. Security.exe Windows. He said that I had 3 Trojan horses and viruses. In order to get rid of them I had to download the program Windows Security.exe. I don't have. Instead, I deleted all the unnecessary files and ran both the program Kaspersky anti-virus on my computer and did a full scan of Windows Defender. Without the horses of Trojan or viruses have been detected. What is the program Windows Security.exe?

Most probably one of these fake programs that are unnecessary.
A scam to get you to buy something (as useless) home.

Never fall for these fake warnings.
Only trust your own security you have installed program.
You have made the right choice.

  • Norton says thunderbird is dangerous to download and used to let me do it. Another security program said it has a Trojan horse and won't let me download it.

I used Thunderbird for at least 10 years and it downloaded many times on different computers. After a computer crash, I'm trying to download it, but 2 programs of security would not let me do. I just downloaded Firefox without problem. I see that others have had this problem, but have so far not found a solution.

    You download from here:

  • Firefox installer detected as Trojan Dropper.Generic8.BMWS by AVG when moving folder

I was cleaning up my office moving my unused files to organized folders, for example, OriginalGameName, slipped into the games. and I happened to have an antivirus AVG scan running in the background at the same time. I created a folder named installers and dragged in Firefox_Setup.exe first. AVG has immediately launched a warning window saying that it was a Trojan horse and give me an option to remove.

Of course, why would the installer of my favourite internet browser include a Trojan Horse? I mean, my Firefox browser works fine and I also just so happen to be posting this on Firefox.

I was instantly suspicious and open SpyBot Search & Destroy and scanned. No result, then the AVG window seemed safe. I clicked on the option in the AVG window to remove the alleged Trojan, then scanned with SpyBot again to ensure that it was not the type of fake AVG caveat of the window that installs a Trojan horse once an option is selected.

So yes, I'm sure that I haven't gotten a fake AVG warning. And yes, I downloaded the installer from the site.

I am also quite paranoid about the virus and I have two different antivirus that I scan with each time I visit an unknown Web site or download anything and I am generally suspicious when you browse the internet.
I know that I gave a large amount of information, but I'm trying to avoid having 1 million on the information that I've left questions. I know there is a similar to this post, but I think that the other post includes enough information leading to unsatisfactory answers. Info dump on.

Yes, you must immediately update your Firefox to 23. This is crucial.

It sounds like you have a virus struck on a former installer you had sitting around? If you have downloaded this installer to a server of mozilla.org , so this is a false positive. They occur from time to time, various anti-virus will occasionally report a Firefox file as a virus when it is not really. Normally it clears up quickly. You can delete this former Installer, update of Firefox and be good to go.

  • unidentified possible Trojan horse

I think that my computer is infected with some sort of Trojan. I bought this MacBook Air in October and it worked perfectly until today. I tried to read a Web site and page could not finish loading and it kept opening other tabs very suspicious. When I visited perfectly firefox regularly guarded site redirecting them to pages like this:

And there's always a pop up window asking me to download MacKeeper (I didn't download it!). The same thing happens when I use Safari.

I checked the Add-ons, and I don't know what could cause me (even if I don't know what these modules are Flash and Java). I read that Java can cause Trojans and I installed it recently. But it was earlier this week and I did not notice something different.

Then I not unhooked firefox and installed again, but nothing has changed. I googled and found that trojans and malware can be in the library, and then I found this:

What should I remove without damaging my brand new computer? One of them may be the Trojan horse that I'm looking for? Besides that I also found a local.cfg in Macintosh HD, is that suspicious?

I've updated to El Capitan earlier this week, and that's all right. A day earlier, I installed Adobe Illustrator and it required me to install Java, I don't like at all about Java. But as I said before this computer started showing this odd behavior today. Yesterday, I tried to download a pdf file from a Web site with a lot of pop ups, that could be the cause. But what can I do? I searched a lot of common trojans and found nothing.

I have a friend suggested that I should download Malwarebytes and run tests. But is it safe?

It's a scam jump upward. Do not call or click on anything either that it asks you. If you use Safari, force quit Safari then all by pressing and holding SHIFT restart Safari.

    MalwareBytes is safe.

  • Trojan horse on my mac!

I ran the Bitdefender anti-virus on my MacBook Pro and it is Trojan.JS.RAN and I was surprised that I'm always careful what to download and install!

I removed it, but now I'm not sure that this Trojan horse on my computer? and what should I do to make sure that there are more malware/virus on my computer? and what is the best antivirus/antimalware should I use in the future?

NB: I've always updated my Mac every time that one updates see the place!

    Thank you

Probably a false positive. Google has shown just this and a site similar listing Trojan.JS.RAN.  "Anti" software for mac not cause often false positive.
