Basic function of download for firefox still works (I can download things), he used to work for the attachments in yahoo email, but now for the last 2 days I cannot download attachments from yahoo mail (used to have no problems with yahoo mail). If I go back to IE, I can download attachments from yahoo mail. have not added new programs etc so don't know why it just started hating yahoo mail.

He has not fixed it. Download required attachment scanning is actually the scan of Norton of Yahoo.

Study the behavior more closely, I noticed a difference in what appears in Chrome when I go on the 'save to My Computer' fast.

    This is Chrome

Us-MG6.mail.Yahoo.com/neo/launch?.RAND= (and then a string of alphanumeric characters that I think are my id)

    Here's Firefox

We,mg5.yahoo.com/dc/launch# (the end, as in no id, etc.).

I had been using a bookmark saved to launch Yahoo in Firefox in Chrome, I've been Googling for the url to Yahoo Mail and I didn't notice that they were different, so far.

I used the same url in Firefox to launch Yahoo as I did in Chrome and voila! It works!

Yes, Microsoft Office Word is responsible.

Save it in a folder of your choice. See if you can open it.
If you are able to open it this way, then you need this:

OK, now, they show. I restarted my computer again and they are showing now.

  • Cannot open attachments in Windows Mail

Can not open attachments [such as wmv.] in Windows Mail
Unless I first save the attachment and then open it from the location of the saved file. After that attachments can be opened in WM until the next time I start the PC. Then I do the routine save - open again.
    Help, please
    Thank you

Try this, instead of open Windows Mail on the part of the shortcuts to quick launch or desktop, or in the Start Menu, start it from "start |" All programs | Windows Mail' and see if your attachments open.  There is a recurring problem between Internet Explorer 8 and Windows Mail that causes this and many people have been able to resolve the question drinking from Windows Mail in this way.  These discussions have a lot more information:

Vista, IE8, Windows Mail, can not open attachments
    Microsoft Word attachments to e-mail
Windows Mail does not open attachments, cannot open the PDF, JPEG...

  • Why can't I open attachments by e-mail .wmv?

Since the installation of Office 2010 (perhaps a little before...) I don't remember) I can't open attachments by e-mail with .wmv that I use for attachments, I think and I would be able to use it.  I went to create a folder, but it was already listed as one, so that will not solve the problem.  Anyone else having this problem?  How to fix?
    Thank you!

When you tried to open wmv attachments and has not, have you an error message?
If Yes, please post the message in its entirety... vrbatim please.

Meanwhile, check to see if you have Windows Media Player, defined as a program to open the wmv files...

Start > Default programs > associate a type of file or Protocol with a specific program > wait loading > under name, scroll to .wmv, click on it > look everywhere, under Default Current, it shoud say Windows Media Player...
otherwise > click Change top program > scroll to find Windows Media Player and select it > click OK when finished. For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.
