Original title: transfer emails to new computer
Pls is it possible to somehow retrieve the emails from an Outlook Express account on a broken computer to transfer to my new computer which runs Windows Live Mail or do I need to get the old computer fixed? Thank you very much
You are welcome. If you can get the files from hard drive accessible, here's what you need to know.Transfer of data from Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail:
For Messages:Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx must be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.
V-2011/2012: Menu button. Import Messages. Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.
Location of OE message store:
In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
In Windows XP the OE User (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

I can't download WinHlp32.exe on my new computer with windows7.
I can't download WinHlp32.exe on my new computer with windows7. I have followed http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917607 but can't be long in circles. Cannot download the WGA validation tool as it is no longer supported. I found the validation code using the alternative method, but when I enter it a new page opens that gives information to purchase. I spent many hours on it. Any help?
Thank you very much for your answer. I decided that this problem is a sign that I need to replace my really old programs. I just realized that they are 13 years and survived 2 computers! Thank you once again.

I bought a new computer with Windows 7 free upgrade. We also have another office.
I bought a new computer with Windows 7 free upgrade. We also have another desktop computer. My son has paid and downloaded Windows 7 Home Premium on this computer (Asus), not knowing that I had the free update. ASUS sent me free upgrade disks. Can I use these on another desktop computer? Or I can download Windows on another desktop computer and transfer my registration to it, and then use the Asus drives on this computer?
Your question has nothing to do with the functionality of Windows Update (vs Windows upgrade), Jan.
That being said, Asus only can answer your specific question. Good luck!

Transfer of Windows XP on a new computer with Windows 7 so that I can upgrade.
I have a Dell Dimension L433c with Windows XP loaded on and I always use it for now (I will throw it away as soon as I can do this transfer). I want to transfer programs from Windows XP and my Word and Excel files in addition to the other programs stored on the Dell on my new computer with Windows 7 Premium Home 32 bit on it and then update the programs.
My problem is that I can't save on Dell's CD drive and USB port is broken. I have connectivity to the internet and would like to send me the program and then save it to my new computer. I tried without success. Is there a list of guidelines that can guide me through this until I receive a call from home professional? It is not possible to transfer programs from one computer to the other. You will need to install the programs on the new computer, using the original installation CD or the installation files that you downloaded from the Internet.
When you get the new computer, you can transfer your files (Word, Excel, photos, music, Favorites, etc) to the new computer via a network connection to help Windows Easy Transfer in Windows 7 program.

I'm considering buying a computer with Windows 7. Is there a driver for my Canon Multipass F50 printer? I have Office Professional for XP - can I load office software on the new computer with Windows 7?
Page drivers Canon MultiPASS F50 & the downloads shows nothing for Windows 7 (or even for Vista), so I doubt that it works.
Microsoft Office XP is not compatible with Windows 7. Office 2003 and Office 2007 are.
I wish I had better news for you. :-(
