Drive external DRIVE does not appear on my PC
I have the old HDD on my PC that I put in an envelope so that I can get my old files and data of it. It appears nowhere on my PC (and I tried all 6 USB port) but will show and work very well on my small 80 GB Dell Latitude D630. The PC didn't it in Explorer, Device Management, disk management, or anywhere else that I can think to look for him.
The scroll wheel is my printer. Thing is it works perfectly if connected to my small Dell Latitude D630. However, I can't use that to transfer files, because it is only 80 GB and less than 1 GB of available. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just please don't forget when you give advice I'm 62 and computer illiterate!
Just for that I'm sure I understand you, if you connect this drive to its external case to another computer, it is recognized and you can read/write in it. Fix?
The external enclosure has a power or it depends on the car on the USB port for power?
When you connect or disconnect the drive, you can hear the Windows USB connect/disconnect sound?
Disconnect all USB devices from your computer except a mouse and a keyboard. Remove the CD from your CD player.
Restart the computer.
Connect the external hard drive. Have you heard the sound of USB connection? Any pop-up window appears? If so, what was the message.
Open Device Manager (click the start ORB, type "devmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and press enter).
- Scroll through ALL the entries. If there is NO entry showing a warning symbol, please provide the name of the device, and then double-click it and point out the text in the box under "device status".
- Expand the 'Readers' section by clicking on the arrow next to him. Please list the entries in this section.
- Expand the 'USB Bus controllers' section. Confirm that there is no element with warning icons (if the list there please say so.) There is an entry named "USB Mass Storage Device"?
- Is there a category named 'unknown devices '?
Click on the start ORB, then click "devices and printers".
- What items are in the top category (Smart Devices)?
- Are there subjects described as "unknown"?
When you click on the link in the "Method 1" from Sondhi Ashishearlier post, you should see this:
If you saw that and clicked the button 'Run now', you should have then seen this page:
Assuming you've got until now, click on the link "Problems with devices and equipment" (or one of the problems with the devices and printers; I think that they do roughly the same thing). Run the troubleshooter.

My CD drive does not appear in my computer and no longer works
Help, please!
Thank you
Hi denis,.
It appears perhaps with yellow exclamation point in Device Manager? With the code 19 error? I ask this question because I founded this interesting article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314060In addition, it would be interesting to know if the drive is seen in BIOS or not because in the worst case, need to replace the disk.

Satellite A100: CD/DVD drive does not appear in the Manager of peripherals and BIOS
The CD/DVD drive does not appear in the window manager and I can't incert CD
The BIOS displays "none" instead of "optical device".This means that the CD device is dead?
Hey Micky,
Unfortunately it's probably :-(. You can try to remove the optical drive and then reinsert it into Notepad, and then marketing and see if it is recognized as a new device.
Check also that it is not displayed in Device Manager and if it is remove before trying the above.

The combo DVD/CD on my laptop drive isn't in Device Manager or Windows Explorer. The door is not ejected. You must use a paperclip, poking into the hole to open it. I also re - it sitting, but it changed nothing. We had this laptop for 1.5 years and the disk worked great until yesterday when trying to install Starcraft II. Installation failed and it has messed up also the DVD/CD drive.
We read some other difficulty advice and tried the upper and lower filters in the registry, but there was no entires of upper and lower filters in the key.

Drive external hard drive does not appear under "devices."
Hello
I just updated my OS to Sierra of MacOS. I have connected my external hard drive (HDD) and it does not appear under "Devices" in my Finder window. It worked fine before the update.
I use a MacBook Pro (end of 2013), currently running MacOS Sierra (Version 10.12). My external HARD drive is a SeaGate Slim SL Media (500 GB).
The external HARD disk appears in disk utility application. He also appears on the about this Mac > system report > USB. I don't know what the problem is, the external HARD disk is identified but does not appear for use in the Finder window.
I read that it could possibly be in mode 'sleep' and putting the MacBook to sleep (while it is plugged into the external HARD drive) and it to wake up again should solve the problem. However, it did not work. No more restarting my MacBook. It was mentioned in another post that it may require extra power, so I attached power adapter and again, without success.
I do not want to clear the contents of the external HARD drive.
Is there a way to get my external HARD drive works as expected with my MacBook?
Thank you much in advance.
I also have this problem.
My camera is Macbook Pro 13 "retina 2015 and Seagate Backup more 1 TB (NTFS - Paragon NTFS)
* Edit *.
My HDD show in report system > hardware > USB
but it does not show in Finder or Desktop.

Drive external DRIVE does not appear in my computer

Original title:
Everything was fine until yesterday. Juice now, when I plugged the external HD into the USB port it does not appear in the 'my computer' window. It is recognized by the computer as it is present on the list of the "Disk Clean Up" and it also appears when I click on ' Safe Remove Hardware ' on the taskbar. But if she does not appear in the 'my computer' window I can't work with it or don't even know what it I have arquived in it.
Trying to find a solution, I realized that same 'information system' to 'System tools' is also not available. Pops up a window saying that "Windows cannot open help and Support because a system service is not ongoing enforcement. " To resolve this problem, start the service named help and Support '. OK, I tried to open 'Help and Support' ' Start Menu ' and the same window appeared again to "not have a system service that runs". I don't know what her soul precisely and I have not the slightest idea of what I need to do to correct this 'disappearance' of Service 'system '. There is nothing without the appearance of HD in the window of thw work? Everything else works fine and the calculation is virus-free. What should I do?
