Drive update HP Pavilion dv6189eu

I want to spend my old laptop drive. It employs 120 GB 5400 RPM SAMSUNG HM120JI SCSI Disk Device (according to Vista Device Manager). I was wondering-can I upgrade my old hard drive with 500 GB 7200 RPM peripheral disk SATA SEAGATE MOMENTUS 7200.4 (ST9500420AS). Thanks for your help.

No doubt. There is no logical reason for it, but some users have reported problems in this series with all the disks 7200 RPM and all 500 GB drives. For maximum compatibility, I recommend a 320 GB 5400 RPM drive. However, I think as there are about 90% chance the drive that you put on would work fine.

What is the reason for this discrepancy? Do both adapters use the same driver or is this just a mistake - and in this case, where is the Radeon driver?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi @jlb21,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

I understand that you upgraded your system to Windows 10 now looking a driver updated for the AMD Radeon 8670 M and there is not a list on the page of software and the driver for your model.

If this does not work, you can try to install a driver on the AMD website, but can find that you do not get the same options as before.

    Hi Charles,

If you do not have a discrete video card, then try the suggestion below.

Restart your PC. Remember that you are logged in as system administrator. Right mouse click the HP driver and select run as administrator.

If the above fails, then try the following command from the window RUN:

    cmd

sfc / scannow---> it will scan your critical system files and try to repair if necessary.

The last thing to try is to uninstall the Intel driver and then start and let Windows reinstall the driver.

  • 15 Pavilion: Pavilion Windows 10 Driver Update quick access keys

    Hi people!

The "SHORTCUT KEY" that towers power button has a small RED led installed which is supposed to light up when you press on to show that the speakers are turned off, however after an update of the Lord knows what, like Microsoft to preserve 'secret' is now to win 10 updates and get it if you want it or not, the RED Led has stopped working which I hope is a software problem that can be solved by installing the latest version of the driver HOT KEYS so...

Using the "HP Support System" the "Robot" told me to go on the Support Page, get my model of laptop recognized then choose updated driver and select "HOT KEYS", except when you get to the drivers there is nothing that looks remotely "HOT KEYS DRIVER" in the list of all driver updates.

Does anyone know where this "object", or what I should expect for HP Support human out of bed on Monday morning and answer the question?

I hope the people of HP who put the "How To" pages would check them until they commit to their Web pages!

    Hi again,

After completing the steps gave you me and the Chipset driver and then, installation by running the installation Realtek in Administrator Mode. For some reason, I found myself with a Microsoft HD Audio Driver installed, which do not operate the RED Led!

Then back through everything in your instructions for the second time, but the Chipset driver is back with an intallation error, so I just ran the Realtek sp73189.exe.

For some reason that gave me a message telling me when I had done was no installed Audio driver!

I then ran it again and after re-boot Led RED rest would not work, so I went into Device Manager and see "Update Drivers" offered that I stressed the Realtek HD Audio, and I was rather surprised to see that there is an update as of 26/01/2016 6.0.1.7730 driver Version.

It was automatically installed and left for a few minutes, then low and here are the RED Led which is now "glowing" Fortunately started working again.

Know not why the first two 'impossible' attempts or if the Realtek sp73189.exe had been replaced by yet another update, but at least now everything is going well until Microsoft eventually make another 'Dump for update' secret and screw something else!

  • Pavilion dv7-4270us: dv7-4270us bluetooth does not work after driver update

I recently updated my drivers from the HP website.  Now, I know it was a mistake that bluetooth has not been installed correctly.    And there is no option "driver restore.  I tried several times sp50180, according to the HP website and also tried the old version listed (sp49153).   They old version did not install correctly and a new seemed especially, but none of my Bluetooth devices that used to work to do now.   I can 'connect to' some devices but they cannot transfer photos, connect to the audio, etc.  Some devices that are used to work can still be seen when I say "add a bluetooth device".  After installation, in the Device Manager, I find the following:

The radio Bluetooth: Bluetooth Broadcom 2070 and Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator (both working properly)

Human Interface Device: Bluetooth Remote Control (works)

Modem: Modem Standard via a Bluetooth #2 link (works)

    Network cards (all working correctly):

    Device Bluetooth (personal area network)

(Heading RFCOMM Protocol TDI) Bluetooth device

(and my other network devices, all functioning properly also)

Other devices: this is the problem area.  After installation and reboot, I always find myself with 10 entries "Bluetooth Peripheral Device", all with a yellow exclaimation mark and all say real estate "Other devices", "unknown" (GSM) and the location is "on Microsft Bluetooth enumerator". "."

I tried right click and uninstall it, but when I reboot they come back to the top, search windows update, but can not find a driver and go straight to the "other devices".  I also tried to uninstall the "Broadcom 2070 Bluetooth 3.0" 'Programs and features' and right-click to delete each listed above bluetooth driver and then run the sp50180 again and it will install without error and find the same above drivers that work and leave the same 10 does not.  And my Bluetooth headphones (two different ones) is more work (or can be seen) and my Bluetooth phone can be 'connected' but any attempt to transfer fails.

I've exhausted all ideas on the web, I could find, and none have helped.  I tried to load a restore point, but after having so many pilot facilities, there is no point of restoration with the appropriate driver.  A full backup of the system on another drive, but much changed the applications and data files so I cannot restore it.  Unless someone knows how to use a full backup of the Windows 7 system to restore only the Bluetooth driver.

Another idea is that the driver update that messed up things maybe changed some other file or a registry setting that is not corrected by sp50180, but that seems unlikely.

Is it possible to manually install each of the 10 'other devices' drivers?  If I right click on a defective device and select "update driver software" no matter if I select the drive C:\ or F:\ (my driver and software download drive) or automatic search (including online) - it does not find the driver files.  I also tried to select properties and 'put to day driver' but the same results.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found a solution. I received a call of support in Mumbai.  HP gave me a free call because they were not able to set a guarantee repair questions, so gave me the free support call.  I took an hour, but ended up the solution was very simple.

    There were these problems:

    1) 10 'other devices' in device with the exclamation points Manager can be uninstalled, but still were automatically reinstalled with the same exclamation point.  No pilot was available to the public for them.

    (2) my phone under Bluetooth devices could connect but would not photos transfer.

    (3) neither my helmet Bluetooth would not work.

The solution was simply to go to 'Show Bluetooth devices' and right-click on each and select 'Delete device' (even if dimmed they might still be revoked).  After all have been abducted there were no "other devices" in Device Manager.  I then added each Bluetooth device again.  This was very well all work.  I also noticed my phone was five drivers "Bluetooth Device" was so 5 of the 10 exclamation points himself.

For some reason, deletion of the driver in the Device Manager has not deleted the list "Bluetooth Device".  And by uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, it does not work.

If the answer is simple.  Before removing the drivers Bluetooth first remove all Bluetooth devices.

  • HP Pavilion x 360 Convertible: the Intel HD graphics driver update fails to install

    Hello

I got my new laptop for Christmas and a few days ago, HP support assistant told me that there was a Version "Intel high definition (HD) Graphics Driver Update": 10.18.15.4281Ep3. I downloaded the updated, but after that 4 attempts trying to install via HP support assistant I kept getting the same message "installation failed." Then, I went to my downloads through Explorer of files and found the downloaded file. When I click on the file it takes me to the Setup Wizard and I can start the installation, but about 2/3 of the way if the installation I get the same message "the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process" and then the installation completes without completing. I'm not sure how to find out which process is using the file or how to do the complete installation so I would really appreciate your help.

    Thank you very much, Rich

    Hello

Follow the steps below to uninstall the driver:

    1. Press the Windows key + R
    2. Type devmgmt.msc
    3. Press Ok
    4. Right-click on the graphics card and select Uninstall
    5. Restart the computer

After the computer restarts, run the Windows Update and the last update will be installed.

  • Pavilion g6-2002au: USB driver update failed

I did a periodic update of the system on the laptop drivers.  The last time, I remember it was almost 2 years ago.  And this time I encountered problems.

This topic follows my request on this thread about SafeMode start/restore after a driver update failed:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-boot-and-lockup/booting-safe-mode-on-HP-G6-2002au/m-p/5690028/...

And as I said it I begam making one an update to pinpoint what caused the original problem with the bulk update.  After 7 by an updated driver, I found the (or, at least) a cause of the problem.  The following image, 2 PCI to USB host drivers caused an error message from windows after the update.

There are 6 USB drivers linked to this very old/aged list and clear terms the number of items of equipment installed on the laptop.  See this screen shot of the Device Manager list:

Drivers USB 6 update, I have taken these 2 items to be updated first because 1) they seemed to be the oldest (replacements were dated in 2010), and 2) if I understand technology, these bits connect the processor to host chip and the actual hub bus.

I chose just these 2 PCI-drivers for update (unchecked the selection for all other boxes in the recall list) and proceeded.  When the installation has ended a windows message box reported an error of windows to one of the devices (one, not declared or referenced by a number).  Considering that the originals had worked for years without apparent problems, I started a process of restoration.  It worked, and restored 'very old' pilots work again without any error boxes, while the most recent have not.

This is a screenshot of the restored Details of driver (work), which seem to be the original objects from Microsoft for XP3. Vista and windows 7

Any ideas why this (the driver update failure) happens?

  • Adding a 3rd HARD drive to my Pavilion elite m9150f

It has Vista Home Premium 32-bit running 2 HARD sata drive seagate 360 with a partion recovery and 2 CD/DVD players. I would add a Seagate 2 TB sata as main drive (C) both a bigger partion (posibly update of OS in the future) 20 to 25 GB for recovery (D) copied to starting from the origanal and reformat it as a temp for videos, etc. I can do this by moving the SATAS after the cloneing and move the optical drives and see MOBO them without having to make all kinds of changes to the BIOS. Thanks for any advice in doing so.

    Hello

If you have already two drives hard and two optical drives, then you will have a hard time to find a place inside the PC to secure the third hard disk.

You could try to use a 5.25 "to 3.5 adapter railsand then fix them and the hard drive down inside the PC. Another option would be to expand the two ports of the vacant motherboard to the I/O back plateand use a drive external eSATA dockthat could accommodate two hard disks that are either 2.5 "or 3.5" or a combination. That would give you great flexibility for the exchange of different hard drives while appearing that they are installed in their own country.

You should be able to use a hard drive imaging product to the new hard drive the current boot drive. If you use VISTA then I would avoid using a disc hard format model advanced unless you know for sure that the disc produced Imaging align correctly partitions. In any case, if you use VISTA then upgrade to service pack 2 and run this update Intel utility before you install the new hard drive. Utility update driver Intel Intel Driver Update Utility level Bios 5.43is the latest bios for your PC.

I use Paragon Hard Disk Manager Suite(eval copy) to make the imagery of my hard drive, but there are other products available. Macrium Reflectand Acronis are also good products.

  • CCC and AMD graphics card failed after the driver update

    I have a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop 6 c-32eg.

I recently tried to update my GPU driver, as was necessary to run a particular program (oclHashcat, if you're interested). I downloaded the installer from hereand he ran. It looks good, but after the required reboot, the screen resolution has been set at 800 x 600, instead of the usual 1366 x 768. Then, I got an error message saying something in the sense of "your AMD driver could not be installed because you do not have the required equipment. In Device Manager the GPU was something like "usinig windows has stopped this device because it has reported an error."

If I try to open the CCC, the program runs for several minutes, with a relatively high CPU usage in the Task Manager, then the message "' Catalyst Control Center: the host Application has stopped working". "

I have now tried different ways to solve this problem, which none have worked. Try to download a driver on the AMD website did not work, because the site said that the pilot was not appropriate for a computer with switchable graphics.

My laptop doesn't seem to be using the AMD GPU as you try to run games as a test done drip slowly and with a minimum resolution.

My laptop has doubled (switchable CCC) graphics:

-AMD Radeon HD 7690 M XT card, with a 8.882.2.3000 driver version and date 30/09/2011.

-And Intel HD Graphics Family, with, apparently, the same driver version and date as shown above. I can't know exactly what kind of GPU Intel it is.

I also tried to update the graphic driver Intel, to see if that would fix the problem at all, but it made it worse: the screen become very red and low resolution. I fixed that by returning to a point just before performed system restore. Unfortunately, I don't think to do this before initially updated drivers.

So, my question is: how to I find the full use of two graphics cards?

    Hello

There may be a 3rd option left that you can try for one more set to gpu driver updates, but I would first get your system to a State where the switchable graphics work correctly.

    Try restoring the system first.

If this does not work, the driver package AMD (containing two gpu drivers) you need can be downloaded from HP on the following link.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp55001-55500/sp55092.exe

In this case being able to find a game more set to driver updates, many people with your type of switchable graphics succeeded with the offers on the 3rd party site - I strongly recommend to read the Manual to get an understanding of how it works and why driver signature enforcement must be disabled in order to load these drivers.

  • Compatibility of the Intel HD Graphics Driver for HP Pavilion p6330f

To run Movie Maker 2 software Microsoft, he need the Version of the graphics driver Intel HD 8.15.10.2555 , released October 19, 2011.  My Pavilion p6330f is a Nr AY022AA #ABA and serial number is {deleted personal information}.  The vehicle has currently released 8.15.10.2119 Intel HD Graphics driver April 21, 2010 installed.

My question is whether or not this driver update would be compatible in my p6330f which has 6 GB of RAM and a 1 GB system drive.

The main features of this driver are:

    1. it is compatible with the Intel Core i3 processor

    2. the B43 Intel G41, G43 and G45 Chipsets

    3. it requires at least 1 GB of RAM

I believe that my system meets all of these requirements but specific Intel that HP may have made a few changes that would make this driver does not work.

What's the verdict?  Can I use this driver to launch Movie Maker 2 on my p6330f?

    Thank you.

    Hello:

You will immediately know if it works or not, because when you run it, it will install either or you will get an error of incompatibility, and the installation will stop.

However, according to the specifications of the chipset of the motherboard of your PC, the driver will have to work on the Intel H57 Express chipset.

Therefore, if it is for Intel B43, G41, G43, and G45 chipsets, it won't be compatible with H57 chipset.

You can try this driver from a business PC with the same chipset as yours and hope it works.

If this is not the case, try the Intel one directly from Intel.

  • HP Driver updates will not install

I have a HP Pavilion 500-056 I bought a refurbished deal from Best Buy.  It came with Widnows 8 and I did the upgrade to 8.1.  The HP Support Assistant utility, said that the driver for my Bluetooth RT3290 must be udpated.  He has downaloded the pilot, but failed during installation.

I have a similar problem with the graphics driver update the sp64084.exe file I downloaded manually on the HP site for this particular computer.  When I run the program it comes up with the dialog box installation then do nothing else.

I looked in the logs and I don't see anything here that mgiht be casuing a problem or escape to a probklem with anythign of HP.

While I'm not worried about the Bluetooth driver because I don't use it, I don't want the updated graphics driver so I can get some resoltuions of screen that will support a format 16 x 9.  The only 16 x 9 aspect that is loaded with the Windows base driver is 1600 x 900, but when I choose, it actually defines the to1280 x 960 monitor.  I expected at 1920 x 1080, whatever, that the monitor does not support.  I'm fairly certain that this graphics chip should supprot than resolutiuon.

I buy a DVI - D to HDMI cable and installed and now we are getting somewhere.  In this way, it does not identify the screen as a LD-2240 and I get 1920 x 1080, although the picture is grainy compared to what I had with the FX5200 who was in my other machine.  So I guess that it apeparfs be the GPU on this motherboard is either faulty side VGA, or he is basically a pice of junk that HP put on a motherboard.

I'll have to pay the sum of $50 and get Radeon 6200 and forget internet GPU.

Thanks for your help and I'll close this as resolved.
