DRIVER DVD or PROBLEM of DECODER MPEG 2
Please can someone advise me? Packard Bell iStart 1359 Office wife has just been re-set up the (a refresh/re-uninstall-back Windows so that from the first use). Now, I find that some DVD will not play in his DVD player. On checking, the MS tool tells me that there is no MPEG-2 decoder installed. I think it was there originally - given that all DVD already appeared to play without any problems. How/where this can be restored - or do we need to buy a plug-in? Note - We are technically not too much mind so please keep any response/VERY simple instructions! Thank you.
Dave_At_No69.
Not the 'mirror' would not work either one last try, if that does not work then I tried everything I could think of. I'm sorry I couldn't help you out while.
Good luck! Please rate me upward if you find my post helpful. Thank you!

where can I find driver DVD digital copy protection, decoder, card vidio
When I try to play a vidio on windows media player, I get an error message that I need to update my DVD decoder, digital copy protection and vidio card. I don't know how to do this.
Hello
I suggest you follow the troubleshooting steps form the article and check if it helps.
How to troubleshoot problems that occur when you play a DVD in Windows XP
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/308012
To prevent the illegal creation of digital copies of DVD, information on most of the DVDs are blurred. Your DVD decoder and Windows Media Player have software to copy protection that decodes the information on the DVD just before posting. If this software does not start successfully, you may receive this error. Remove the DVD in the DVD drive and then reinsert. This will force the copy protection software to reset.
While the DVD is out the disk, make sure that your DVD is clean. If your DVD is scratched or dirty, the DVD player may not be able to read it correctly, and you may receive this error.
If this does not work, try the following:
one)
If you have been able to play DVDs on your computer before and you receive this error message, you may be able to solve the problem by restarting your computer or Windows Media Player.
(b)
If you receive this error message the first time you try to play a DVD, you're not a DVD decoder installed, or your decoding software may need to be updated. In addition to your DVD - ROM drive and playback software, you must have a software or hardware decoder to play DVD decoders. devices and their drivers are available from third-party manufacturers. For more information on the software decoders, see decoder DVD plug-in. If you have a plu decoder installed, contact the manufacturer of the decoder to obtain an updated version that is compatible with the operating systems Microsoft Windows and Windows Media Player.

Please help - driver for the module Insp 8600 DVD + RW problem
I hope someone can help with this... it left me speechless. Slim in my Inspiron 8600 DVD + RW drive module will no longer work. It does not appear in my computer folder. If I insert a CD or a DVD in there, it takes in and I can hear it roar, but nothing else happens. I tried the following:
- Type d: / RUN... but it says there is no such drive
- Exit the module and then put it back in, in case it was a problem of the seating. No change.
- Ran scans antivirus and antispyware - nothing.
- I checked the Device Manager and there are two drivers for the DVD drive - HL-DT-ST DVD + RW GCA-4040N is called and the other is a Generic DVD-ROM SCSI CDROM Device ( where the hell does he?). Both of them have yellow exclamation points on them. I uninstalled both, hoping that the replacement driver solve the problem after XP replaced. No luck - the 'new' drivers always have yellow exclamation points on them.
- I also tried to uninstall these drivers and then installing a GWA-4040N driver; the message that came was something about Setup not being not not able to find anything to install or being not able to find the drive.
As a side note, probably related, I tried to connect an external hard drive to the 8600 with a USB cord, but this player will also not appear / is not recognized.
Can anyone offer any advice or solutions? I feel I've hit the wall. Not being not able to connect to a DVD player is a killer, because it is used for many things, including the loading of the software.
Thank you all.

Drive DVD - RW does not properly on the Satellite A40-702
It's on my lap top of Toshiba Satellite SA-40-702. Five years ago.
Hi, I have looked at the wires for this problem and have not been able to identify a similar thread yet.My dvd - rw play a purchased audio music cd and it will also work with disks that came with the laptop. S something works well... However, recently I tried to burn a piece of music (from i-tunes) and he showed in white, but strangeley the cd did play the piece of music OK in a machine at work. I tried now to show some other discs that I recorded on this laptop in January, and they now show that the discs and I cannot see their content (they were photos and text documents). They worked before.
I have this weekend made many attempts of 30 photos of burn, and I tried two different brands of dvd discs blank, but even if the laptop says 'burning to disc' etc when I try to view the burned disc, there is nothing on it!
I wonder if anyone has any suggestions please. I tried to clean the blue eye with a brush hairs inside the drawer of the dvd, that's why I expect that the next step may be just to buy a few more recent records?

Hello
My personal opinion is; the reader cannot process the community burned due to the stressed out laser lens. It turns out that your laptop and the drive is older than 5 years.
I put t know how the drive has been used in recent years, but due to the long period of possible use of s that the lens cannot read data from the CD/DVD now. This is not unusual. My brother s book can not read the CD/DVD that were burned a year ago, I presume that it of the same reason the s drive laser lens problem
Hmm you don t have many possibilities, you can try to burn these discs with another computer/laptop and then could check if you red the data.
The last option would replace the drive -
Satellite P300 19 p - CD/DVD burning problem
Hi, I'm new to the forum and I hope somone will be able to help.
I have DVD burning problems. When I use software engraving the image is usually copied ok and then the burning process starts, which usually lasts only a few moments, then the machine spits out the disc burnt and wasted.
I usually use Corel DVD Copy 6, but have you tried TOSHIBA and other programs such as NERO. With the help of Corel VideoStudio, it burns discs with a success rate of 90%, but the problem comes when you try to copy my own created disks.
I tried different types of discs (that is to say + R and - R), and I also tried burning speeds.
Anbody else suffers from this problem?
I have managed to find an error code 06077-26 - 2A 040902, made this average anyhting for anyone?
TEMPRO alerts appear to have provided updates firmware for a number of other DVD players, but not for my machine? Maybe it's due a? All the drivers are up to date.
Thanks for listening and the anybodies help is more than welcome.
See you soon.
In my opinion, you should not think about buying replacements. If you think that the drive does not properly contact service. If necessary the reader will be replaced free of charge.

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burn
and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
do it right.Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.
Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always problematic.
CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.Several good info here:

a shot.Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue

Recently, I noticed that my CD/DVD stopped working. He turns, but nothing happens; the disc is not read.
I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit on an HP Touchsmart tx2z.I ran the Microsoft FixIt program through http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116 and it has identified the following problem: 'HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20L periph. CdRom SATA has a driver problem. The driver faces a problem of Plug-and-Play device. »
However, FixIt said that he was unable to solve the problem and discs are still read.
I manually uninstalled the driver in Device Manager and then scanned for the hardware changes. The driver was reinstalled, but with the same problems as before.
Any ideas?
Thank you!
Also, try following the steps for Windows Vista, which should also work in Windows 7, in the MS KB article:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/982116
These measures, to remove the UpperFilters and LowerFilters, values if they exist, in the registry key named can help.
Create a System Restore Point beforehand and restart the computer later.

The correct driver for your laptop running Wnidows 2000 should be version 3.0.8.0 and is available for download from the Web from Toshiba website.
