  • Windows 7 will not recognize driver for HP Scanjet 5370c scanner

I was not able to get Windows 7 to recognize the driver for my HP Scanjet scanner on my new HP Pavilion Elite a9200z desktop computer.  I tried to install the original driver delivered with the software that not only failed, but it was necessary to do a system restore to an earlier date.  After downloading the software update and the driver on the HP website (for the XP operating system. (No), the software successfully installed but Device Manager said there is no driver installed.  I tried Udating driver in Device Manager, but none were found on the system.  I'm afraid that because the driver is not signed by HP, this is perhaps the reason that the system will not recognize it.  I do not receive a message about the driver being made and has been disabled.

Where would the driver have been installed under Windows and what would be the name of the file?  Is it possible to install a driver that has not been signed on Windows 7, even though I know that it comes directly from the manufacturer.  I came on this forum that says HP email support is no longer in effect for this scanner.  Scanner was working fine under Windows XP.  Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Thank you for your response.  I posted the same question to the Board of Directors Microsoft as well.  One of the technicians gave me a link to a website that has software in support of scanners which pilots the manufacturer has not, for some reason, took worth to upgrade to Windows Vista or Windows 7.  I installed Vuescan driver bundled with the program which works perfectly, and my scanner HP Scanjet scanner 5370c is upward and great in Windows 7.  They have a list of more than 100 scanners supported by the program.  So, anyone interested should check the list before you buy the program.  No, the program is not free, but it is much cheaper ($39.95) that pitching on a scanner perfectly ideal of work and having to buy a new one.    Anyway, if anyone is interested in the possibility of using their scanner ' is no longer supported "with Windows 7, the website below might help.

  • Is there a driver for HP Scanjet 5370C that works for Windows 7?

I have upgeaded from Win XP to Windows 7 and HP scanner does not work. HP doesn't have a driver to Win 7 support.

After double checking of this list, you are right in saying that there is no Win 7 drivers.   On a better note, it had a link to third-party software solutions scan on the HP website. Try these drivers, they might work for you.

I'm upgrading to OS 10.4 to 10.8 and the latest driver for the Scanjet 7400c is dated 2004, the same software that came with the scanner when buying?  I doubt that it runs with Mountain Lion?  Any ideas?

    Hello

If you prefer to use the scanner, another idea, sort of try is the 3rd party Vuescan which seems to support the 7400c and application compatible with Mountain Lion:

  • Need driver for scanner HP Scanjet 5400c using Windows 7

HI: I just bought a new computer and was dismayed to find that HP does not provide drivers for my 5400c Scanjet. I read another post referring to a member of this forum on the site of VueScan for 3 third-party drivers, but I don't see my scanner model specific it. I see 5300C and 5370c listed.  Does anyone know if the driver or the other of these would work for the 5400 c?

And someone has other ideas for this problem? This seems to be a large problem of customer service that HP should be confronted. I really love my scanner and hate having to shell out $ grave on top of the $ I spent on the computer itself.

    Thanks for all the answers.

    Paul Miller

Windows 7 was not able to find the driver for this scanner.

I downloaded the following driver from the HP Web site (which is for XP and windows 2000)

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=SJ-21893-1&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&OS=228&product=59064

After the installation of this driver, I reconnected my scanner to the computer. This time, windows 7 are driver and installed.

I installed and then started HP Scan Pro 3.1 by using "Run as Administrator". Run normal gave me error but this way it worked perfectly for me.  I use 32 bit Windows 7.

Hope that it wroks for you as well.

    JMG01, welcome to the forum.

  • Other driver for support of hp scanjet 3570c to Windows 7 Home premium

Is there a driver or another driver that can be used for hp scanjet 3570c for use on my laptop with Windows 7 Home premium operating system?

The best you'll be able to manage for your scanjet is to allow Windows 7 to find the driver. HP ended support of the drivers for your scanjet to Windows Vista.

Connect the scanjet to your PC and use of devices and the "Add a device" Wizard printer. If Windows 7 has a fantastic integrated driver, otherwise, you may be out of luck. Maybe it's time for you to consider looking for a replacement all-in-one multifunction printer. Microsoft has recently retired hardware Windows 7 Compatibility Center who took decisions on older devices simple generation and Windows 7.

  • Lack of availability of software driver for ScanJet 3300, WHY?

Why Microsoft has not published software driver for Win 7 compatible with the ScanJet 3300 being...?
Is this a ploy to force consumers to the perfectly material trash to work for love to upgrade your operating system or what...? Please, can someone there answer for me...? I'm stumped...

    Very simple to answer:
Microsoft does not support your Hewlett Packard ScanJet 3300 C.  The fact of Hewlett Packard.  If Hewlett-Packard does not release a driver for one of their products for a given operating system (or even a level of service pack of the operating system) is the choice of their (Hewlett).

Microsoft does not have the drivers for * any * Unit of material that they do not manufacture.  It is in the millions of devices and not a very wise decision from ANY point of view.  Support for your hardware devices in * any * widely used operating system is the manufacturer of the material - they are the only ones with a vested interest in your use of their product over another happens to support the operating system, you have chosen to run.

Just to make sure that the lack of support in Windows 7 is interpreted as a problem of "lack of support from hardware manufacturer" as opposed to something else... I decided to quickly do a simple search for your product in reference to Windows 7:
    "Windows 7" ScanJet 3300

And the first thing I found was the following:
Report of the Compatibility Center Windows 7 for HP ScanJet 3300
(You can also see the 32-bit version by clicking on the web page tab).

Who says exactly what I have:
"The device manufacturer stated that this product is not compatible.

If you go to the HP web page for the product: Driver & Software Downloads - HP Scanjet 3300 c Scanner
.. the first thing you see is that HP did not provide drivers beyond Windows XP (click on the drop down menu to select your operating system), nor for Macintosh or * nix.  There is a link on the page we can fly over who asks, "I don't see my operating system?" and answers, "If your operating system is not listed, HP has no software or driver downloads available for this product in that operating system."

You can also see the queries on the HP ScanJet 3300 in the Microsoft Answers forum which shows the circumvention of some people in an attempt to stretch the life of this product (the State that and support which is something that Hewlett Packard decided to their product).

Yep - that's the way it has always been.  You buy something and sooner or later, if this product works in conjunction with other products, that you upgrade one or more tof products to work with you will need to upgrade the original product too * if * you want to keep the functionality of this product gives you.

This product (the HP ScanJet 3300) is old and outdated technology.  Quality, it can give you compares even with cheap (and I mean cheap - cheap) scanners that can be built in the more generic off-brand inkjet all-in-one on the market today (where ink will cost you more than a month given 6 period that initially the printer.)

Looking at the Specifications for the HP ScanJet 3300 it is obvious that there are much better products out there in a size of comapact more and more features.  It is time to replace this equipment.

  • hp scanjet 3500c driver for WINDOWS 7

    HY,
can you help me with the driver for my HP SCANJET 3500c scanner. I have microsoft XP and it works fine, but now I have WINDOWS 7 and my scanjet will not work...
Can you send me the link for the software for windows 7 or the application of pilot... And if it does not you can send me why?

    Thank you

It is not the responsibility of Microsoft to write drivers for other manufacturers ' products, but the manufacturer; and in your case it would be that HP is to write a new driver for Windows 7 for this model scanjet, which of course, they did not choose to do so - they may believe that the product is beyond its life cycle, maybe something else.

As a possible workaround, if they list a driver for Windows Vista (and the correct version of bits, that is, 32-bit or 64-bit) I'd give a try (after creating a new restore point). Once again, it is what I would try, proceed at your own risk.

    Kind regards

  • Need a driver software and scanjet HP Laserjet 3150 for Win7-64

I'm trying to migrate my all-in-one HP LaserJet 3150 printer to my new Win7 64-bit Home Premium system. The Center of Support of HP and Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility Center say "this product installs automatically without extra software" the driver does not appear in the list add local printers, even after I clicked on "Windows Update". I can't find any download driver for this printer HP or Microsoft and Googling forums user says does not exist.

Anyone know how I can find the drivers and Scanjet get this printer and its software to scan running on Win7?

It seems that the device would not be identified as Win7 compatible, if these driver and software Scanjet did not exist.

    I appreciate your help.

  • HP scanjet 3400C - no driver for Vista

HP have - in general! -do not highlighted a driver for Vista for my scanner - I guess that it is in the logic of the "If you have more than 3 years, you should change" - However, this scanner worked fine until I got my new PC and Vista.  Can anyone help with this?
I think Microsoft have a moral obligation to produce the pilots of these machines, because it's their OS that messed up things in the first place, but the fact remains that I have to use my scanner and I need help setting up.  I tried to run the software as an administrator and enabled the option "Run in xp mode" but that no longer works.

    Help, please!

    You answered your own question.

HP has not written the Vista compatible drivers for your scanner model.

And it is the responsibility of HP to write the drivers, because it is their product, not a Microsoft Product...

I agree with you; they are a disposable society.

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it.

New models supposed to have more features and better.

where is the link to download the driver for windows 7 (64 bit)?

On the HPs website - you know - those people who make and support the product.  ;-)  (IF they have decided to support this specific product under any operating system you chose to run, you'll find it here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=73497&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us)

And they are not - it seems.  Order in Windows Vista.

You may be able to use the Vista x 64 driver.
