During a recent update to the 2016 office, I had a blue screen and an error message that a failure of State driver had taken place and the computer needed to restart. After a few moments, the computer restarted and I was able to complete the installation of Office 2016. I remember getting this error during upgrade to Windows 10. Recently, while watching a YouTube video, the Tablet locked up and I got the blue screen again, with the same "Driver Power State Failure" error again. I check the Device Manager and noticed that in the "system devices" all of the "Intel platform dynamics and thermal framework (DPTF)" associates pilots had yellow flags indicating that the drivers did not work properly. When I tried to update the drivers I get a message that the latest drivers are installed.

  Someone at - it recommendations to solve this problem? Should I uninstalled all the drivers DPTF and reinstall? Thank you.

  Update: I drove all DPTF drivers in back to version 6.2.9200.30457 Device Manager and then restarted the computer. I tested the computer to see if I could cause a BSOD pilot State failure occurred earlier today and it does not happen again. I hope that this solves the problem. Thank you.

  Not very well why the battery status shows that 98% of load, but AFAIK new battery needs to be calibrated first.
  Calibration means that the battery must be charged and discharged several times in line.
  The battery must be completely empty and discharged before you would reconnect the AC adapter.

  I meet regularly with BSOD on my T430s / Win7 when switching mode standby (Fn + F4). The error message is driver_power_state_failure. This happens almost every day. Driving me crazy!

  I know it's a common problem (I also had with a former T500, but not on T420). After Googling around, I discovered WinDBG and how to identify the faulty driver that is causing the problem.

  However, I could not install the tool - or debuggers package (referenced on windbg.org), nor the tool set + a .NET framework from the Microsoft Web site. The old guard quit the installer with no message (although the Remove Programs dialog shows the thing installed, it seems to be no program to run), the latter does install without no diagnosis (installation only, tried the debugging tools tried to install the complete package - same result).

  So, can someone please help to analyze the memory dump and to identify the faulty driver? What file is needed for this - the memory full image (from folder/Windows /, ~ 500 MB in size) or the minidump file (from/Windows Minidump file / / /, ~ 700 KB in size)? Or both?

  Think it might be Firefox that uses the hard drive much - checked, uses the hd a little, but not more than usual, but I can still hear the hard drive clicking suite. So I close Firefox. Still ongoing.

  Tried to switch browsers Chrome, and even has a lot more use of the disk by cycle Firefox did. But no matter whether Chrome is open or not, I can still hear the beating of hard drive.

I tried then to resource monitor and 'System' appears at the top of the list of processes sorted by use of the disk.   I disabled the process that has been suggested on the forums, without any change in the use of Windows Media network share drive.

  Then I saw a thread in which someone talked about disabling Marvell / RAID drivers remains other manufacturers (where the system has no installed RAID array) slow down its use of the disk.

  I have no RAID array on my PC either and noticed a Marvell driver under the heading 'System' using SysInternals Process Explorer.

  Restarted in safe mode (without network) and entered the resource (part of Windows 7) monitor and SysInternals Process Explorer (in Microsoft TechNet) to see if I could pinpoint the problem.

  I started first of all resource monitor and saw that the 'system' with the PID of 4 remained the more intensive process of disk. Using the disc went from 100 KB/s to 1 MB/s as before when you are connected to Windows 7 normally.

  I closed the resource monitor shot to the top of Process Explorer and found some weird-looking process:

  Under wmiprvsv.exe, there was a file called locale.nls, with no manufacturer name/description (unlike some other services/sys files having a "Microsoft Corporation" as their name)

  Under each of the svchost.exe process, out of all the files that have name descriptors (Microsoft Corporation), there was a little without name descriptors that caught my attention:

  A file that found in Windows/Globalization/Sorting/Sortdefault.nls

  A file called locale.nls (sorry don't remember the location of the file)

  A file that found in Windows/Registration/R00000000000.clb

  A file that found in Windows/System32/C_28591.nls

  All the files above with the exception of the R000000.clb one found in svchost, lsass and csrss.

  The R00000.clb file was found only in svchost.

  I noticed these files because they had no name description next to them - could all of the files I mentioned contribute to the problem of the use of disc?

  I have my own PC and use an administrator account (not the default "Administrator" account, but my own account with administrator privileges).

  It was actually the power supply fan making a rattling noise that resembled the disk hard grinding/fly. This problem is solved. Thanks to all, especially to André, for your help.

  I have a 17 "middle MBP 2010 and in the process of conversion of SSD HARD drive.  I use the latest version of Mac OS X.  What program is recommended to mirror, for the SSD HARD drive image before installing? Or should I simply to reinstall all the programs instead, and then add the data?  A problem, I think that I have on this last approach is that I have many books in iBooks who came not through iTunes, and I see no way to export the data.  Are there times or saving strategies that I use in this business, the question of iBooks and the whole process of frustration?

  To install an SSD in a MBP is fundamentally no different from a HARD classic disc.  Format the SSD drive in disk utility > erase to Mac OS extended (journaled) and then copy the HDD to the SSD.  I recommend to use Carbon Copy Cloner for data transfer.  It copies everything. including the OSX and the recovery partition.
