Driver SATA?

Hi, I'm trying to install XP on a new hard drive for this computer

Product: ThinkCentre M51 8143-34U

HD is a Western digital 160 GB SATA wd1600aajs

The computer has a virus that I can't get rid of. The hard drive was quite small anyway we have a new.

I can't seem to find a SATA driver for this computer anywhere, matter that has any suggestions? I don't have any disc of original driver for the computer.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions

He's certainly looking for the SATA driver for use during the reinstallion of the op. But its really the Serial controller driver ATA and its recommend a treatment that we tΘlΘcharger the controller or the website of the manufacturer of motherboard if possible.

So the question is, where the Lenovos site. I couldn't find one.

In addition, Intel provides a program that will extract the necessary files and make a floppy (or other) for use during the installation of the OS (where it asks the F6 option). Try here:

In this case the GPU ATI driver contains the chipset and SATA drivers.
This means that we must look in the folder of the graphics card to a compatible SATA driver driver.

    Hello

Don t know how you tried to install the SATA drivers, but this must be done without a doubt before, you are going to install the XP operating system.
During the installation process you must press the F6 key to include the drivers of external USB FDD.
I you don t have an external USB FDD drive and then use the 3rd party software called nLite to create a new XP CD and include the SATA drivers.

Driver SATA can be found in the Intel Matrix Storage Manager which can also be downloaded from the Intel page.

    Hi, Andi:

There are only two ways to install sata drivers when using XP... using a floppy drive then select the driver you need, or "slipstreaming" drivers.

Here is the link to find out how to integrate the drivers.  See amd and then read the downloadable PDF for "slipstreaming" all pilots.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-and-software/SATA-drivers-for-XP-solution-on-0x0000007B-BSOD/m-p/114120#M17758

I have attached the XP drivers, you need to use.  They will need to be decompressed.

As you can see on the copy and paste of the setup information file, the hardware ID for the controller sata to your laptop is supported by this driver.

  • HP Pavilion G7-1328dx: basis of slow AMD driver Sata on AMD HP G7-1328dx

We have two laptops HP Pavilion:

    (1) HP G6-1328dx with Intel i3 and Intel chipset and controller Sata Intel running a Samsung SSD 840 very well with high expected random read/write time.

    and

    (2) HP-G7-1328 x with AMD Llano A6 - 3420 M procvessor with a built-in AMD chipset and a controller Sata AMD running a Samsung 850 EVO SSD in much slower times of random read/write - way below the Samsung should both read/write random.  50 to 60% slower.

Both laptops G6 and G7 have 3 Sata hard drives, AHCI is enabled on both, and both are running as Windows 7 SP1 64 bit OS.

So the problem is why the Samsung 850 EVO runs slower on the G7 countries than the base model Samsung 840 runs on the laptop G6?

Y at - it a update controller driver Sata AMD that will solve this problem or another solution that will do?

Configurations on the settings and software for the two laptops are almost identical in all other respects.

Sorry for the delay.  After having just tried with the Sata Driverss AMD and the AMD Catalyst drivers from HP and direct AMD regret to inform that the results are much the same.

Also online and found a user with a similar motherboard AMD based running a comparable SSD.  He was asked to compare how fast sound SSD race with mine and compared both with how fast SSD manufacturers say the random read/write time should be.

The line at the bottom is the user that had the same experience I did, I found.  Both of us see the read/write random times on our SSD, which is much slower than what we get on motherboards Intel based with the chipsets Intel and Intel Sata AHCI controllers.

Guess that's just the way it is.

This is my opinion only. Someone else may have different results.

  • Vista does not recognize my drive sata hard.

    • I have a Sony Vaio and this laptop is running Vista on a drive sata hard and the hard drive failed, I am trying to load Vista on a clean hard disk SATA of Toshiba. Vista does not see the hard disk and can not find the drivers for the SATA hard drive. I called Toshiba and they said that the hard drive is plug-and-play this is why there is no drivers and asked me to call Sony to the motherboard drivers. Sony said that you need for the Vaio recovery disc. I ordered the recovery disks and still have the same result. I have checked the BIOS and can not see anywhere to set up a sata drive. What can I do to fix this?

    Hi Dl54,

    A. is the hard drive is detected in the BIOS?

    B. what happens when you restart the computer?

    C. you get errors?

    D. What is the exact error message that you receive?

You can check if the drive is detected in the BIOS, but will not all SATA configuration option in the BIOS.

I suggest you to download the SATA drivers on the Sony site on a flash drive and load it during the installation.

After that you start from the vista DVD, follow the instructions on the screen to install vista. You will see a screen where you choose the partition to install vista. You will find an option to load a driver on the same screen to the bottom of the left hand of the window.

Click load a driver > Browse to the location of the drivers and start installing the drivers.

    Please answer in return.

  • Satellite Pro S200 - need driver SATA for installation of WXP

I'm trying to load a portable Satellite S200 with WinXP Pro.

It doesn't have a floppy drive and I have no idea how to access the BIOS or driver load in my WinXP custom disc so that I can load windows.
Please help as it is constantly with no hard drives have been found

You need the Intel Storage Manager. This package contains the SATA drivers to use the AHCI mode which has better performance than the compatible mode.

The drivers, you can integrate with nLite ([www.nliteos.com]). It of pretty easy to use and I have good experience with this tool.

If you have further questions, you can also read the discussions here in the forum because this procedure is on each identical laptop.

  • Can Equium L40 - I change hard drive SATA to AHCI Mode?

    Hello

Anyone know if it is possible to change the hard drive to SATA AHCI (or same IDE) mode in the BIOS?

I see the hard drive in the BIOS but I can't select to make changes as long as it is "gray".

I installed the latest version of the BIOS, but that made no difference.
    Thank you very much.

I put t have this model of laptop, but usually the controller SATA in BIOS mode options are AHCI or compatibility.
I presume that it is set to AHCI.

Your laptop's SATA HDD so I put t understand why you want to change anything. Using the AHCI mode HARD drive can operate at full speed.

  • Need driver SATA XP for Satellite Pro L300

    Hello

    I have a Satellite Pro L300 Vista.
If I have problems of major incompatibility with Vista I can swap the readers so I want to set up a second hard drive running on XP Pro.

When I try to set up the XP he sees not the SATA hard drive. I know that it's because XP does not contain the SATA drivers. Couple of questions

    (1) I saw a comment that recommendsto change the BIOS for SATA setting to "Compatibility" and this should work. I tried this but did not find it worked - everyone find it works?

    (2) where can I find the XP SATA driver? I crossed the XP drivers for Satellite Pro L300 Toshiba's web site, but could not see any SATA driver.

    Thank you

    Hello

    As to the question;

    (1) some notebook models containing this function in the BIOS and some don t BIOS that SATA option. If the BIOS has this option, you should be able to put AHCI Compatible mode. Then a SATA driver won't be necessary but also your SATA function would be disabled and HARD drive might work more slowly. So I recommend to set to AHCI, and then reinstall the SATA driver.

    (2) the SATA driver is part of the Intel Matrix Storage Manger. You can include the SATA drivers using nLite software. The necessary files of the SATA driver can be downloaded from Intel here page:

  • Should Satellite Pro M70 driver SATA?

Satellite Pro M70 must SATA driver for HARD drive?
If yes where can I find it?

    Hello

Hmm. Satellite Pro M70 is a bit older, but it supports the SATA HDD controller and usually the SATA drivers should be included.

As far as I know that Windows XP should include SP2! This is important.
In addition, you must include the driver AHCI (Intel SATA AHCI Controller V5.1.0.1022) for Win XP.

Usually, this driver should be required to get the XP working on the M70.
Just Google for this Intel SATA AHCI Controller driver
Page Intel should also provide this driver too

  • Long shot - driver SATA for Pavilion 15-n048ca

    Hello

Here's a question long shot re drivers.

I recently bought a HP Pavilion 15-n048ca that came with 8 Win. I have a material more elder who has no new drivers for this OS. And win 8 does not come with an XP as Win 7 compatibility mode.

So I try to install XP Pro in another partition on the same system (multiboot).

(Yes, I know that XP is about to be "end-of-life" and will not get updates in the future, etc, etc, etc. - been thru all this.) Where my rush to try to get a stable installation before the 8 Apr.)

As you probably know, XP does not know about the AHCI SATA drivers (even though I think that if I had bought an XP with SP3 installation disc, it could have on it, but still not be compatible with my h/w). But my original XP disk doesn't know anything about. And the BIOS is not an option to change the HARD drive in the UEFI IDE compatibility mode, but it does not allow the boot Legacy mode - very limited.

I can create a new "slipstreaming" of the OS installation disc, the SP3 and the new drivers - if I can find something suitable.

    The AMD hardware ID are:

    PCI\\VEN_1022 & DEV7804 & SUBSYS_216B103C & REV_00

    PCI\\VEN_1022 & DEV7804 & SUBSYS_216B103C

    PCI\\VEN_1022 & DEV7804 & CC_010601

    PCI\\VEN_1022 & DEV7804 & CC_0106

I know there is no XP drivers for this hardware. But AMD has in common in a generation (or two) of material, which CAN (and it's a pretty big "IF") allow the use of another pilot, because there's a version of XP.

Is there something that can work for this system?

CPU_Z reports of material such as:

    CPU/APU: A8 - 5545M with Radeon HD 8510 G graphics card

    Motherboard HP: 216 b

Chipset: AMD K15 BMI Rev 00

    Southbridge: AMD A55/A60M Rev 11

I know that another option is to create a virtual machine and install XP it contains. I do not know the h/s that I want to connect will work, but I'll also give that a try using VirtualBox.

I'd appreciate any help you can provide.

    see you soon

    Any type of CPU is the computer, which is used to create the XP SP3 slipstreamed CD. With the help of nLite, all you have to do is;

    (1) make an ISO of Windows XP CD and place it on the desktop.

    (2) download Windows XP SP3.

    (3) download and extract the AMD SATA / RAID drivers according to the instructions of Daniel.

    (4) run nLite and integrate the SP3 and AMD drivers.

    (5) create the new ISO.

    (6) burn the new CD of Windows XP SP3.

Based on Windows and GPT FAQ, it is unlikely that XP will be installed on a GPT disk. Most likely, you will need to partition the drive in the MBR before installing XP. This means that you must also reinstall Windows 8, but you will not be able to use the support of HP recovery, you have created.

    Microsoft requires the leading manufacturers quantify and integrate the product key Windows 8 in the BIOS/CMOS. It's called a digital product key (DPK). You can try this download of Windows 8 OEM;

    http://www.Google.com/URL?SA=t & RCT = j & q = en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.ISO & source = Web & CD = 1 & CAD = AJLN SQI = 2...

It is a copy of Windows 8 OEM officially licensed and will also install Windows 8 Pro OEM. Download this file, burn it to a DVD, the start of this drive and install Windows 8. It should register as an official copy and use the key embedded in the BIOS.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Please click the 'Thumbs Up' white LAURELS to show your appreciation

  • Noisy dvd/cdrw drive Sat Pro A100

    Hello

Ive just got my new laptop A100 Sat Pro and check that everything works
I noticed that when accessing a dvd in the dvd/cdrw Mat * one player combo UJDA770
He is much stronger with pronounced sounds/cries as he accessed but subsequently, he
can play a movie dvd without much noise. Including these noises ar not when a cd is
    in the drive.

I am new to laptops, and I don't know if this is normal because the disk is so small?

You could someon please let me know if this is normal or not?

    Thank you

    Kevin

    Hey Kevin,

As you can imagine, it's not easy trying to diagnose noises without being able to hear, but there are various noises emanating from the optical drives depending on what they are doing both.

These sounds are usually a slight noise whirring when the disc actually rotates. applied by a series of light clicks as the lens unit is positioned to read the titles of the index. Once this has been done the unit should return to its noise whirring normal light as the disc is read progressively.

However, some drives, including the data (games or software) will produce more evidnet clicking and rattling from the unit of the lens are having to constantly reposition themselves in various locations on the drive.

In addition to the above, some discs are not quite concentric and this can set up a slight oscillation of the disc as it spins. This will be evident by a distinct rumbling noise as the disc rotates.

If the device emits a loud noise then it will normally indicate a contact between the disc and a part of the possible training of the lens or the drive nut. This is definitely not normal and if this occurs several times and on different disks, then I'd have the optical drive, checked by a Toshiba ASP.

    Kind regards
