• Toshiba Satellite S50 - A - is dead HARD drive?

  Hello.. I hope I can get some answers from other owners of S50 - A or least maybe a tech?... are these discs defective or only supposed to last two years so you get out of your wallet again so Toshiba infiltrates the money from you?

  My father bought this laptop for me for the College and school so I can work and play at the same time it's about 2 years old...

  Model of care &: S50 - A Satellite, model # PSKKEC - 00G 007 - Intel i5 - Geforce GTX A 740 m - to-SATA 1.

  2 years... Since purchasing computers laptops are pretty perfect, I have done regular upward Dungeon defragments hard-ware/anti virus scans and every quarter I ran across a sweep of care system advanced... everything was fine.

  The only games I play quite a lot on this laptop is counter-strike Global Offensive by H1Z1... a week ago, I was on teamspeak and it said that I had a driver error and tells me to restart, I did... and that's where it went all down hill...

  I had a lot of mistakes, lack of funds etc., tried to do a reset from the pc, is not called zero also tried to try a restore of the system without success... hard disk started vibrating and making a 'written' sound (as the disc has been actively writing incredibly fast..) it was so distorted, I couldn't save any recent stuff... (last back up I did was about 3-4 months before)... no all my photos & academic materials are uploaded to servers online, so I was Biggie don't like meh, whatever... I listen to music on spotify so care to lose all that.

  My only option was to format the disk and do a clean install... what worked for one week... was able to update all my drivers download/install geforce experience and my anti virus program, log in to my school credentials and downloaded steam... everything was going a lot and yesterday after a session of one hour of h1z1 I quit the game and when I tried to open my browser google chrome that nothing answered, the button start to reset would not answer the computer literally just does not react anymore than all...

  Forced a restart and got bsod - unmountable_boot_volume - entered the command... prompt he says pretty well sound replacing each bad cluster known to man... nothing was fixed/repaired... do you have a chkdsk c:/r/f and got this - an unspecified error 766f6c756d652e63 3f1

  I am ready to throw in the towel on this... I guess that Toshiba gives a 1 year warranty on all hardware related Articles?... so there is no point in calling me to and ship unless I want to pay an arm and one leg for another 1 TB sata-one that will only last another 2 years?... or should I go to some place local tech and get them to install a crucial 2.5 "500 GB SSD?

  People of any options?... I am open for them.

  HARD drive seems defective.
  SSD is a good choice, but avoid those that use a starforce controller, since they have more problems than others.
  The Intel and Samsung SSD seem to be the most compatible.

  It is a known issue between the Starforce Protection and Microsoft Vista operating system.

  The Starforce driver that is located on your CD/DVD is not compatible with Windows Vista.

  You must find a compatible driver Vista Star-Force.

Uninstalled game and update drivers, sniper also has this security starforce, no help from each supplier and its not the games because all of my old call of duty and medal of honor games play flawless, so not play this game so conditioned with other games that used to play witn Win7, all ideas been around for 3 days now {web sites} I give up for now, everyone.

• When I deleted a picture of my MacBook, why it also remove the external hard drive?

  So I tried to help my wife to free up space on his MacBook Pro by putting all of his photos on an external hard drive. After iPhoto slide the hard disk and wait 40 minutes so that he could transfer, I wanted to make sure it worked. I ejected the disk and then plugged in. Of course, all iphotos were still there. Just to be sure, I deleted one file in the folder on the computer's iphoto. I went to my shock and horror, the external hard drive, that it has been deleted it too! How is that possible? I've been scouring the Internet trying to retrieve this file with no luck. It was not in the trash. There is a tab "recently deleted". Time machine was not turned on. iCloud shows nothing.   How to use an SSD with your HARD drive If you want to use an SSD as boot with your existing HARD disk drive, as the disk 'data', here is what you can do. After installing the SSD, you need to partition and format the SSD using disc utility disc. Then install OS X on the SSD. Once installed OSX boot from SSD. Startup disk preferences to set up the SSD as the boot volume. Open the preferences users and groups. Click the lock and authenticate you. Or CTRL - RIGHT click on your username account list in the sidebar and select Advanced Options in the context menu. You will see a field called "Home dir: ' on the far right, you will see an Edit button. Click on it. In the file dialog box, navigate to the location in house now located on the HARD disk (disk HARD/users/user_name /.) Select the folder, click the Open button. Restart the computer, as shown. When the computer starts, it will now use the home located on the HARD drive folder. Another more technical method involving the Terminal and the alias is discussed in depth here: using OS X with a SSD and HDD - Matt Gemmell configuration. It's my preferred approach because I can choose which records of the House, I want to on the HARD drive and I don't want to. For example, I like to keep Documents and library files on the SSD because I frequently access their content. Make sure that you keep the bootable system entirely on your HARD drive where you need it.

• My hp LaserJet 1022nw fails to analyze the download of the printer driver after that macOS Sierra upgraded.

  Recently I bought a Portable Seagate 2 TB external hard drive for my MacBook Air. I put all my movies, music, ext documents on my hard drive with my important homework. Also sang the first aid option in "disk utility" with no other results. I have contacted apple support and found out it was the external hard drive with the problem, so they couldn't help me. They then redirected me to Seagate Support, and I had already tried the methods they gave me (see list above). I was wondering if anyone here on communities of Apple has experienced the same problem as me, it would be that much appreciated advice you may have. I have important files that I need to recover.

  Had a similar problem with external hard drive WD also on model MBA early 2015. Found if I disconnect the external hard drive restart MBA and then reconnect the external hard drive it was working normally again.

  Another thing I tried was still unplug HD plugin MBA on sector and re - a SMC.

• Google Drive moves items to the trash in the Sierra.

  Someone else had a strange behavior of Google Drive under Sierra?

  I installed the Google Reader (which I used without problem for years).

  I dragged files in there and let him sit and synchronization from one day to the next.

  Two things to check...

  1 make sure you have Google installed 1.32 Drive.

  2. make sure that you have not exceeded your storage limit.

• Sierra of MacOS - iCloud Drive Documents & Desktop keeps Getting Stuck download

  as stated in the header after activating the iCloud Drive to include Documents and desktop download stuck guard.

  Since almost 2 weeks I started the task mean to ask iCloud to include above mentioned files. Total quantity was about 100 GB download. I have 1 TB of storage for iCloud. iCloud is always download and always get stuck after about 10 to 30 minutes to download. Then I have to restart after that it starts to load only from getting stuck again.

  I was on the phone with Apple Care who had no idea of what might happen. They Said and I quote "we have no problem with iCloud download and your problem has not yet been recreated by others."

  I find it very hard to believe that I can repro this problem on 3 different systems.

  I have Cable speed of 400 Mbps downstream a 25mbit upstream. I have zero upstream of questions to dropbox or Spideroak at an astonishing speed. ICloud is the slowest I've ever known in my life but as I said after 14 days, it has yet to fill about 40 GB. This is ridiculous IMO.

  If anyone has any ideas on what is once again wrong with iCloud, I would of course tips

  Try to go into System Preferences/iCloud and stop synchronization. Wait a few minutes, then recheck the timing.

  Have you tried the signature to iCloud and then reconnect?

  As far as I know, you can not download files to iCloud by car.  It must be made individually... once again not sure...

  We understand your question that you have a new external hard drive, a backup Slim Seagate, which does not appear when you connect to your MacBook Pro.

• Backup of two mac mini hard drives

  I have a Mac Mini 2011 with two 500 GB hard drives.  I have apps and General things about hard drive #1 and #2 only has pictures and videos.  Will be Time Machine backs up both drives to my external hard drive as one or two separate back ups?  I see files of backup HD #1, but not sure if the HD #2 files are also there.  I can't find an answer in the support documents.  Ideas?

  Open the Time Machine system preferences pane, click Options, and check if the disks are in the exclusion list.
