  Welcome to the HP Forum.

  The invitation to upgrade to 8.1 Windows comes from Microsoft.  Unfortunately, Windows 8.1 does not care what happens in your software brand in the upgrade process.  This is not limited to laptops HP - computers and desktops other brands may suffer the same consequences.

  You've probably discovered since your initial post you will need to return to your backups of Windows 8 to reinstall all personal files.

  You may need to install all the programs you have installed previously from original source.

  To install programs may include (and are not confined to the):

  • Browser (s) and/or bookmarks
  • Personal programs - Office games, you bought or downloaded from the Internet, e-mail programs
  • Purchased or downloaded from the store of Windows applications

  The upgrade process was able to destroy your Recovery Manager - that being the case, you will have to wear a support driver your computer Web pages look to see if you can find all the missing drivers.

  HP, software brand may be missing - and probably won't be available in the Support pages.  This includes software that may have been added to your computer as promotional or trial.

  Looks like you want to control the programs that run at startup, right? It is always a good thing to do. You can run MSCONFIG (type in the search window on the start menu).  See the "Startup" tab  So, you can use other applications to display the same information. For example, CCleaner has a 'tool' that does the same thing.  NirSoft does: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/what_run_in_startup.html

  Browse the list of questions, and if you decide all. For example many applications load stub apps to speed up their startup. If you do not use all the days of the app, uncheck the box and it does not load.  If you do not recognize, this is often the case, track the location of path or to register 'Command' to try to understand what program it is for.  Use google to search for file names.   XPS 1645 370 BT driver Win 10. > I had the same problem and what I found was that I needed to go into Add/Remove programs and uninstall the Broadcom of Windows 7 driver software. Once I did I then used the Broadcom drivers for Windows 10 provided by Lenovo (which is identical to Broadcoms but the works of the Installer). Lenovo Broadcom driver version can be found on the link below. (if the link is broken just get Lenovo Broadcom Bluetooth Windows 10).  Another issue that needs resolved is garbled audio via BT and which can be solved by downloading the audio codec Realtek HD 10 Windows. I hope this information is useful to anyone who has faced the same problem. Personally, I know that I spent many hours with Dell and Microsoft is desperately trying to get this resolved. Luckily I have just given and plugged away to my own research and managed to get the issue resolved. It took me about 3 hours of research and five minutes to actually get it going (including reboot and device pairing). So happy that I got this solved... good luck.
