  • Click Start
  • Click on run
  • Type msinfo32.exe and press enter
  • Enlarge (click on +) the components section

  Windows 10 being an upgrade of your existing operating system, it would be absolutely not delete or edit your files, settings, programs, etc. Your PC after the upgrade to windows 10 would be same.
  However if you choose a clean installation, the contents of your drive where is installed earlier OS might be deleted if you format.

  The answer to your question is given by Windows 10 App itself. To check compatibility:

  • Open Windows 10 booking App.
  • at the top left, click on the Menu (3 vertical lines)
  • Click on the control of your PC.
  • It will show if there are problems with compatibility.

  Yesterday, my laptop Toshiba Satellite C850D with Windows 8.1 made an update when I turned it on, it took a while and once he got 100% he says he encountered a problem and needed to restart which he did with no problem.
