  I just installed Windows 2000 on my satellite 1800-514 because with Windows XP, it's so horrible slow and I hope that goes better with win2000.

  then I tried to install the drivers of my cd but then after restarting, I got a blue screen. so I guess that the pilots were not compatible with Windows 2000.
  im looking for the correct drivers, but in the section download toshiba is now no Posibility to select the 1800 series. So where can I get them.

  I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A135 S2386 originally shipped with windows vista Basic, but he now has windows xp professional installed and there are 2 unknown pilots missing in Device Manager.  I think we're the bluetooth driver and the other unknown device is probably for the media programme. There are 4 buttons on the Panel of this laptop the cd rom. dvd 1-button control is a button of media, but toshiba Web site has only driver for windows vista and windows 7, I can't find these drivers for the program media and bluetooth for windows xp professional.   Devices that have a problem with the drivers should be listed under problem devices in msinfo32...

  • Click Start
  • Click on run
  • Type msinfo32.exe and press enter
  • Enlarge (click on +) the components section
  • Expand devices problem

  Each issue must have an entry that looks like the format that...

  This can direct you to a place where you can get the drivers. After being on a similar route for someone else with a Tosh, I'm afraid you're out of luck.

  Are you aware that XP will end of life in less than a year? Probably not a smart move to go back to XP in the long term.

  I remember that USB 1.0 specifications are 150 USB 2.0 and for mAh 500 mAh.
  A laptop usually provides enough power for an external 2.5 "HARD drive, but not for a 3.5" external HARD drive. Disks 3.5 "are equipped with an additional power supply.
  Some USB hubs offer a power outlet in order to increase the maximum current available on each port (i.e. If you connect 2 external HARD drive or a HARD drive on a 2.5 USB1.0 port ")

  Make sure you buy a 'box' that comes with an external power supply or is less with a second USB cable to connect a second USB port available just for more power.

  Remember that external hard drives draw a LOT of energy out of the laptop that runs on batteries... In order to choose the correct POWER option than the second cable.

  BTW, the USB port is protected for current requirements extended... it will just hang your PC, stop, or simply not work at all (you'll notice the disk HARD drives which will be very low on disk).

  I found this site with the motherboard for a Satellite 3000 series but it seems that the Satellite 3000 514 is not listed.

  I m not 100% sure, but I think that the 3000 series was delivered with the same motherboard.
  But before you buy anything, you should ask Toshiba authorized service partner for a more details. Guys should be able to also order a compatible Board directly from Toshiba.

  I think you're on the good side, if you ask the opinion of the service provider.

  But as you can see the motherboard is expensive and eventually you might find a second-hand surfboard.

  This laptop is old so that the drivers have been moved to the archive area.

  Hi all

  I recently bought a used Toshiba Satellite A30-514.
  I checked and got everything works except the sound and wireless WLAN. I learned that with the wireless, there is no card so that I hope that the problem has been resolved.

  Now to the sound issue.
  I checked all the way through the sound settings, try the things usual e.g uninstall Realtec AC97 audio and sourcing the driver on the Toshiba site and install again, although when 80% through it causes an error while it just goes right to 100%.
  In the Device Manager it happens now with the yellow exclamation point and the properties now show that this device cannot start (code 10) location: PCI bus 0, device 31, function 5.
  It comes up with no device in the sounds and audio devices.
  I tried upgrading the bios (already the most recent) and tried to uninstall and reinstall, but does not work on anything!

  Please someone help ive spend a whole day faced with my brain, but nothing helps, I hope that someone had the same problem and knows more to help, I will be much appreciated if you can help.

• Satellite 1800-514-display is off every few seconds

  Yesterday, I have a Toshiba Satellite S1800-514. I have install the OS (Windows XP Home) again.
  Laptop screen turns off every few seconds. When I press the small button above the power switch (sensor for portable fence) there is a beep and the screen wakes up again.
  Same procedure again after a few seconds (5-50 sec).

  Is there someone who can explain what happened and how to fix this?
  The problem exists in all modes (Setup/bios dialogue, BACK, starting of WinXP, running current WinXP command prompt).

  It's not easy to say what is causing the problem, it could be the inverter FL, chip graphic, LCD display...

  In your case, you should first test an external monitor. If the external monitor doesn't work properly, it s a problem with the graphics chip or motherboard. If the monitor does not work this is a problem of the FL inverter or LCD.

  My Toshiba Satellite 3000 514 starts each others time and gives me the following beep code: 1-1-1-1 (4 short beeps) and a black screen.

  The beep code appears especially if the POSITION cannot be passed correctly.
  If the problem is detected until the BIOS initialize the video card and the code cannot be displayed on the screen of the BIOS will play several beeps.
  Each BIOS supports the meanings of the own beep codes. For example BIOS Toshiba beep code is not the same thing as "beep code" Phoenix BIOS.
