Drives mapped network needed a deleted windows 7 profile
I needed to recreate the windows profile to resolve lync where he would not change the State based on their outlook calendar, but I did take note of the network drives mapped statically to the user. So, when I deleted the user profile I lost what it had mapped statically. Is there a way to restore the user's profile or find a place at all anyway to see what mapped network drives that had it before? Any kind of connections stored in the registry or perhaps the security logs? Where to look in the registry or this what should I filter in security logs, or are there other options?

No driver controller network for Portege R500 (Windows XP)
Hello
I don't understand why Toshiba does not have the drivers needed to make a new Portege R500 WLAN works. I have absolutely no ability to wireless networking, as if the switch is off, and I have a yellow question mark in Device Manager of Windows ("other devices", "Network controller"). Windows can't find a driver on the restoration of two CDs and trying to install all of http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads doesn't help either.
Someone manages to find the drivers to fix this 'Network controller' for a R500 Windows XP? Maybe that my device has a hardware defect, because I can't believe this WLAN for XP support is not provided, out of the box or at least by downloading files on the Toshiba support site
Thank you
OlivierHello
It is strange for me to read your ad one thing. Can you explain what you mean with: Windows can't find a driver on the restoration of two CDs.?
As much I know restore CD/DVD is not a kind of collection driver but the recovery image that you can use to clean operating system installation. Can you please tell me what restoration (recovery) CD you have? Are two of them for an operating system, or you have one for Vista and one for Windows XP Home edition.
I checked Toshiba's support page and it has a WLAN driver version 11.5.0.32 / 9.0.4.37. Download and unzip the driver files and before you start installing check readme.txt file first.
Moreover, for the installation of Windows XP Home edition please use the Instructions of facilities document and follow order listed facilities.

Host of hard drive is full - need to delete snapshots
Hello
I try to help someone who has a Mac running Windows 7 64 bit Pro using VMware Fusion 5.0.3. They have a hard disk of 1 TB but now only 725 MB of free space!
I checked the settings of VMware and they had AutoProtect Snapshots on 1 dollar a day, and set "maximum number of snapshots to keep: ' 3.
When you view the instant history, it shows that there are 51 snapshots with the first (oldest) being 55.4 GB, GB 8.7 second and third 958,3 MB. There is also a second tree that has only one sheet about 20 shots later.
What is the best way to remove these pictures I saw barley have any storage space.
I also don't mind not completely destroy all snapshots and new.
Thanks in advance!
haachee wrote: I'm not afraid also completely destroy all snapshots and new.
What do you mean exactly by that?
What is the best way to remove these pictures I saw barley have any storage space.
With this little space it is really not that you can do with this package of Virtual Machine on this disk is almost full for correctly * clean. * Properly, i.e. delete snapshots via the Snapshot Manager. You must either release the right amount of space needed to accomplish the task or temporarily move the package of Virtual Machine to another disk that has the amount of space needed for the appropriate task.
There are other options, but I guess that when you answer the question I asked can I give more details.
BTW DO NOT try a whole instant deletion via the snapshot to manage with so littk of free space on the disk of the host that you will break it doing!

I went to the HELP of mozilla, and it is said to remove or rename the file. This action will not end as I asked.
Hi sonnywill2,
Please take care.
Note the removal of Firefox profiles is not usually recommended, there are other methods that are often better for troubleshooting. Such as the reset or refresh.Deleting a profile will result in loss of data, including bookmarks and passwords.
Please try to give more detail on what you're trying to do and a link to the article help you watch.

Adobe Acrobat Reader Installation Error 1327: invalid drive mapped to a user folder
Try to install Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows 8 so that I can make the PDF Renseignez form (which doesn't seem to work with the default player Win8 app). I get the following error in the installation of Adobe:
Error 1327.Invalid Drive: P:\ mapped to a user folder. The drive does not exist or could not be connected. You can disconnect the drive or reassign the drive letter. For more information, see http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404946.html
I have P:\ drive mapped to a folder on my corporate network offline indeed. Following the instructions on the web site indicated always is not allow installation.
Any ideas?
David
I know this post is very old, but it is the top google result when searching on this question, so I thought that a useful response would be in order. I also had this problem, but I discovered the problem in the way I had my place set for My Documents, my pictures, etc..
Short answer, you must use UNC paths for mapping.
Longer answer - like you, I have a House (in my case sup) drive connected to my network of the company. So, I can navigate to U:\Documents. I had put the location of my documents (and other user files) to U:\Documents, well it worked most of the time it's really not the right way to do it. If you open your drive mapped in file Explorer, the window title bar will show you the UNC patch. It will look something like this: yourUsername (\\servername\home$). Set the location of your My Documents, etc. to match - for example, to \\servername\home$\yourUsername\Documents
Note that you can not change just the My Documents - you must fix all of your user files that point to a network drive letter (C:\Users\blah bla... is fine) in the format of a UNC path instead. Then re-run the installation of acrobat and you should be golden. If the foregoing makes no sense to you, or you do not have the required privileges on your workstation, talk to your resource and they will be able to sort it out for you.

I need to reinstall Windows Vista to do a reinstall of Windows 7 upgrade?
I have an Alienware Area 51 750i. He is initially provided with windows Vista but had a free upgrade to windows 7. My hard drive has acted lately and I think to replace. I have to buy a new drive for windows 7 or I can use my old copy and install it on the new hard drive. The computer came with a Windows Vista recovery disk and also the disk to upgrade to windows 7. Thank you
You can reuse your Windows 7 license on the new hard drive. You need to reinstall Windows Vista on the new hard drive, and then perform a custom installation of Windows 7 during installation of Windows Vista. You may need to reactivate by phone:
How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)
1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
(2) press the ENTER"" key.
(3) select your "country" in the list.
(4) choose the option "activate phone".
(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.
(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

Hello
you have a problem with my Windows laptop that left me speechless.
I would really appreciate if someone could provide a solution or any ideas where to start fixing this, as I get close to return to the previous backup full system, but reluctant to do so as I have never done it before so I'm worried if it really works as supposed (Macrium and Ping).
1. description of the problem
All users of Windows XP (SP3) restricted accounts open all of a sudden 'Map network drive' by clicking on the desktop and the "research" by clicking on any folder, including My Documents.
However, all accounts administrator work as before and also user accounts work like so usual, they are included in the Administrators group, with respect to the clicks of the workstation and records.
In addition, the correct icons for 'Drive' and 'Record' are visible when connected as long as administrator but lacking when logged as long as user restricted when you check the file associations by "open the folder and then click on Folder Options in the Tools menu.» Click the registry file types list. »
2 solution unsuccessful attempts
2. google and tried the solution to manually change the registry entries from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321186
"
Start the editor of the register (Regedt32.exe).
Look for, and then click the default value under the following registry keys if this problem occurs with folders:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
If this problem occurs with drives:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
Click on edit in the Edit menu.
Type 0 in the value data box, and then click OK.
Exit the registry editor.
"(Fixit associated meanings has also not working for some reason, says that the Windows Installer does not run, don't know if the same problem...)
2B. and then also tried the fix "regsvr32 /i shell32.dll" at http://blog.chron.com/helpline/2005/10/double-click-opens-search-instead-of-folder/.
After these steps, the registry under "Drive" and "Directory" information are as attaché at the end read somewhere there should be a "find" under lock and key, as I have, but don't know if the subkeys under 'Search' are what causes weird behavior.
If anyone knows and could provide what the values for the registry values must be in a system that works, would be nice to compare to possible problems.
Unsuccessfully, with what precedes, to solve the problem, but noticed through that:
2 c. When you are logged in as administrator, I am able to see and modify the registry keys concerned with regedit, considering that when logged in as a regular user, I get an error that translates roughly as "the key could not be opened [consultation]?.» Error in opening the key. "for"Default icon"and subkeys 'shell' to 'Drive' and some subkeys under"shellex ".
Oddly enough, this is also the case even if I "Run with" regedit as a user belonging to the Administrators group when logged in as a limited user. Could be the mechanism of Windows registry access.
Noticed that the small group 'Users' did not have access to "Drive". Grant read access, even as the "directory" and other registry keys next to them, for "users".
Now see the values of registry as a limited user, but the problem persists. Do you really know what to try next, after spending hours Googling for answers.
3 computer laptop environment and other factors
3. don't know if it's related, but perhaps that coincides the time and the possible reason of sage:
I had the problem two days ago described in "account Administor doesn't have access to some files and registry entries" to http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microsoft_Operating_Systems/Windows/XP/Q_27415496.html.
Zone alarm free firewall prevented changing the key of HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microdsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
Which was fixed as in the article above tweaking of Zonealarm settings so that changes are allowed.
3. the environment of the laptop:
Acer Travelmate 8204 laptop
Windows XP SP3 with virtually all updates of installed Microsoft.
Recent issues (related?) with the .NET Framework 4 updates and the repair facility. FixIt against MS to install MS Update and the Application works and reveals no problems, but the settings from-> Panel-> Add or Remove Applications said that it cannot change or delete NET Framework 4.
ZoneAlarm Free Firewall version: 11.0.000.057, prevented possible culprit get earlier access to the registry, uninstall?
Norton Antivirus version recently installed 20.3.1.22, possibly in conflict with ZA or bug?

@=""It seems that I managed to solve the problem on my own. Did two things:
1 set the registry keys determine programs associated objects 'Répertoire', 'Drive' and 'File' to the default values by using the settings found here: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\2. If you want to have permissions for group 'Users' to read all these keys in the registry. For some reason any access worked only partly for standard users.
Not sure who finally solved this problem, but after I had finished 1. and 2. for the purpose of 'Record', by clicking on 'My computer' and any folder works normally for all users of the computer.
I suspect that some recent installation of program which adds actions associated with these objects messed up the registry. Suspects are Norton Antivirus and dbPowerAmp.
Thanks for the suggestions for this problem!

I constantly tried to use the "NET USE" syntax to get a Windows XP Home system to keep & share mapped network drive on a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit of the system and nothing I tried or worked on ANY blog. I can map the current network through made normal drive right click on 'My computer' and then provide a designation of drive letter with the correct path and have had great success using the function "connect using a different user name." However, even with the box checked to re-connect to the opening of the service is WORTHLESS! I made a lot of attempts to use the Net use syntax to create a batch file to overcome this non-functional raw application. I would really appreciate someone who actually had this issue resolved and work. I have looked at all the Windows files on the XP machine, searched the registry about a possible switch, which could make the necessary changes and have made all necessary changes on the Windows 7 system to accept the mapped network share. Help!
Hello
Since you have a network with different OS' I hope that Win 7 is configured to run on asnetwork work.
If evry thing is configured properly it can be a problem of how your router keep information network. With the help of Staic DHCP or IP static on computers could help solve the problem.
Just in case you need to reconfigure your network.
---------------
Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.
Group residential network = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.
Working network = fundamentally similar to previous methods of sharing that allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.
Public share = network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks. For the best newspaper of the results of each computer screen system and together all computers on a network of the same name, while each computer has its own unique name.

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions
General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall isactive .Since you have a network with Win 7 and the other version of Windows, you must configure Windows 7 as work network.
In the center of the network, by clicking on the type of network opens the window to the right.
Choose your network type. Note the check box at the bottom and check/uncheck depending on your needs.

Windows 7 x 64-network drives mapped disappeared following updates
Since this morning, all network drives mapped our Organization have disappeared. More than 85 users being affected. By a process of elimination, we have reduced the problem to local machines running Windows 7 x 64. We have also several PCs 10 Windows which are not affected. We have also two PC of Windows 7 that have not activated the Windows updates, and both have no problems with the drive mappings.
We go through the deletion process of upgrades that were completed this morning (03:00). I will provide an update as soon as we find the root cause.
Can we get some guidance as to a specific update that can affect the drive mappings?
UPDATE 2 *.
We have solved this problem by uninstalling the following Windows updates:
Update for Microsoft Windows (KB3139923)
Update for Microsoft Windows (KB3140245)
Update for Microsoft Windows (KB3162835)
Update of security for Microsoft Windows (KB3159398)
Update of security for Microsoft Windows (KB3161561)(After removing these updates and reboot, it should also ask users to close the session and sign in again until the mapped drives returns.)
REF. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3163622
"Symptoms."
All the user group policy, including those that have been filtered on security groups or user accounts, or both, security may not apply on computers joined to a domain. This problem may occur if the Group Policy object has the read permissions for the authenticated users group or if you use security filtering and lack read permissions for the domain computers group.
Resolution
To resolve this problem, use the GPMC Group Policy (GPMC. MSC) and follow one of the following steps:
- Add the authenticated users group with the permissions to read on the Group Policy object (GPO).
- If you use security filtering, add the computers group to the domain with the read permission. »

We solved this by adding authenticated users to the scope of the Group Policy object.
(KB3159398 seemed to be that the cause)

Can't map network drives via a RDP to Windows Server 2012 connection
I have yet to find a definite answer on this topic, so I hope that someone will have encountered it here.
Access us an application on a remote server of 2012 hosted through RDP connections in two different sites. This application outputs files in a folder that I need mapped to Windows 7 PC local. After the RDP connection, I go to Windows Explorer and you try to map a network drive using a UNC name, for example: \\IP address\D$ \folder name and check the box "use different credentials.
At this point, what happens depends on what profile of I use. If I use the profile that was created when installing Windows Server (admin profile) it works fine. If I use any other profile, or another admin profile, it does not work, and I can't understand why?
During the inspection, the two profiles admin seem to be the same!
I know that I can map drives the other direction (take my drives mapped with me RDP) but this is not acceptable because several PC (on different sites) will be locally run software that needs a path set for the location of the files, that creates the remote app.
Any advice will be appreciated.

How to map network drives for all Windows 7 users
I'm trying to map network drives in Windows 7. I did it by the usual method, but readers of network appear only for a single user (Administrator) and they do not appear for other users. Is it possible to map these drives as an administrator so that all users can see them (instead of each user maps itself)?
Thanks for your help!
Hi may 1
There is no possibility to map the network drive for all users at once.
However, you can access the mapped network drive other user accounts by using the credentials.
To access the mapped network drive.
1. click Start , then computer.
2. click on map network drive.
3. now, make a check mark in connect using different credentials.
4. click on Finish.
Thank you, and in what concerns:
