DRM for digital copy movie

I am trying to download a digital copy of a movie that was recently PURCHASED. It says I need to update security for Windows Media and sends me to a link of Windows. The "update" button is not available to click. How do I put security update then?

NOTE: We consider the free trial Norton is NOT already expired by the time wherever you installed AVG Free!

Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are notorious for not to uninstall (or upgraded) themselves.

1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

3. If the Tea Timer of Spybot is enabled, temporarily disable & leave this option disabled until I tell you otherwise. See http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=32409

NOTE: If you don't fully understand what Tea Timer does and how it does, let him permanently disabled.

4 uninstall all Norton software (including LiveUpdate and everything Norton Add ons) via Control Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view).

5. right click on the file that you saved in #1 above and select run as administrator to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

6. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 & run the difficulty.

7. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & enforcement that fix in modes AGGRESSIVE then by DEFAULT. [1]

8 restart a last time & test.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1] full Disclosure: the difficulty operating in AGGRESSIVE mode will remove your update history but not the list of installed updates.
  • When Windows Media Player is available for Surface RT so that I can play my Disney movies to the digital copy are a format WMV DRM?
    I have dozens and dozens of Disney films to digital copy in DRM'd WMV format that I downloaded from the packs of Disney DVD/Blu Ray / Digital Download that I bought.  They play fine on Windows Media Player on Windows 8 Pro.  But there is no media player everywhere where they will play on the Surface RT. I think it was very bad judgment and taste do not include Windows Media Player with Windows RT.  Before purchasing a program to remove the DRM and convert the file format, I have no way to watch the movies I paid for and legitimately possess as digital copies on my RT of Surface. The #1 reason why I bought a Surface RT was so that we can watch movies on the go. I'm really disappointed in the experience of the RT and the value for money. When Microsoft released Windows Media Player for Windows RT to correct this gross oversight?
    Hey there,
    The short answer is probably never. Surface RT doesn't have a license to play DRM content, so unless Microsoft Gets a license, you will not be able to play your DRM WMV files... or can you?
    Follow the steps in this link:
    http://www.surfaceforums.NET/forum/Pavtube-software-Studio/2397-transfer-play-digital-copy-movies-surface-RT-tablet.html
    Basically, you need to download a DRM remover, run it and transfer it to the surface. It explains how to convert the format of WMV to mp4 say however, there are enough apps in the store play WMV files that you shouldn't have to be converted if you do not want. With respect to the transfer to the surface, personally, we use Skydrive, but you can use any method you want. In addition, you do not have to use the Remover suggested in the article, now that you know that they exist, you can search and find your own.
    I hope that helped!
  • Download a digital copy of DVD for laptop
    Hello
    I recently bought 2 movies who also have the digital copy so that I can put on the laptop and watch if I don't have to pack around the DVD. The problem I have is when I chose to transfer to Windows Media Player, it sends me to a window that wants me to 'Upgrade' of DRM. I'm not able to access the button "Upgrade". He clicks not on. For this reason, I am not able to download the digital copy. What should I do, or else to whom should I contact?
  • How do I copy movies from iTunes to a USB port so I can watch them on my TV
    Is there another way I can do this?
    You can not!  iTunes movies are DRM protected and can only be read
    through iTunes on a computer authorized Apple ID or an iDevice.
    This is somewhat true for any service of films and is part of licensing
    agreements with movie studios.
    I'm sorry.
    However, you can get some kind of cable adapter for your computer or your iDevice
    (depends on what you want to use and what your connection to) and connect it to the
    TV and reading through them.
  • Change the file format of digital copy Disney
    I downloaded a copy of the digital file of the movie Wall-E Disney to my computer some time ago. I had to choose a file format to save the portable version. As it was before I evenhad such a portable device, I selected just Windows Media Player. Some time later, I had an iPhone, I realized that I would need the version of iTunes to look on. Because the activation code runs once, is it possible to legally convert the portable digital copy Windows Media Player to an iTunes one?
    Sincerely, Danny
    Hello DanMat6288,
    There is no way to convert the format of file legally. That is, you can contact the seller who gave you the ability to download the movie in a different format. However, there are several third-party applications that give you an option to convert the file format. You can use your favorite search engine to search for applications.
  • Error Message - Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection
    I received the following message when trying to play a DVD:Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD drive decoder and video card protection. Try to install a driver available for your video card. I'm confused that nothing has been changed, added, or updated my system up-to-date. I am running Windows 7 Premium home 64-bit edition. DVD plays fine on my laptop with the same operating system.
    CORRECTION OF THE PROBLEM.
    I can confirm that it is a matter of the DVD CSS protection. MediaPlayer, being unable to decrypt the DVD protection.
    Googled around for "DVD43". The installation program will install a driver that will successfully decrypt DVD protection and will allow you to PLAY the DVD MOVIE ONCE AGAIN!
    Well, that's an alternative. All what I can say is that Microsoft Media Player is broken!
  • I can't play DVDs in Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7 Pro and get this error msg: Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD drive decoder and video card protection.
    Hello, thanks for reading and helping me.
    I try to play a legitimate, belonging to DVD, but Windows Media Player 12 will not play on my computer Windows 7 Professional.  The DVD worked a few days ago, but all of a sudden, I get the following error message:
    "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD player and the video card protection decoder. Try to install a driver available for your video card.
    I did a lot of research of these forums and on the ' net.  Here are the suggested steps I tried without success:
    • I tried VLC player.  This works.  However, rather than use this workaround, I wish to find a solution to my problem WMP/WMC.
    • I tried several DVD for years over the last decade.  These DVD works on my laptop, also running Windows 7 Professional and the shark 007 codec.
    • I uninstalled my Shark 007 codec
    • I tried other codecs (K-Lite)
    • I assured that the latest drivers are installed on my video card, XFX ATI Radeon 5850
    • I tried to uninstall Nero 9
    • I tried to use the Windows 7 troubleshooting options:
    • > Reading and burning CD, DVD and Blu - ray (no problem)
    • > Windows Media Player DVD (no problem)
    • > Windows Media Player Settings (detects a problem, wants to restore factory settings, every time, no matter what happens)
    • A system restore to a time when the DVD was working did not resolve the issue
    • The different links in Microsoft, I found in this forum about this problem do not seem to be useful.  There is a link that points to the set-top boxes, but this page just says: "Windows 7 comes with a decoder.
    • I assured the latest driver is available by going to "Device Manager", right click on the drive, then click on "update driver software".
    • I assured that the latest firmware is installed directly from the manufacturer's website.
    • I tried to reset my DRM by renaming the DRM under C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows folder and by going to this Web site to upgrade:http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp?force=1
    • I've uninstalled and reinstalled Windows Media Player 12 and Windows Media Center via the function "functionality in Windows.
    I would be very grateful if a Microsoft technology could chime.  Thanks for your help!
    Hi badbiosvictim,
    Thank you for your question, I understand that there are two problems with the copy and past feature of Firefox for Android. The first is that when you go to copy a selection that the screen move and if you try to move the tail or head of the selection does not move.
    Try this, take a finger and hold the beginning of the selection of a selection for a second and then move it to the left or the right, does that help?
    For the copy and paste, when the selection is correct to keep tap on the selection for two seconds. There will be a toolbar of the icon at the top that has copy and duplicate. They look like http://cdn.gottabemobile.com/wp-conte.../Screen-Shot-2014-01-15-at-11.04.10-AM.png
    When I try to play a vidio on windows media player, I get an error message that I need to update my DVD decoder, digital copy protection and vidio card. I don't know how to do this.
    Hello
    I suggest you follow the troubleshooting steps form the article and check if it helps.
    How to troubleshoot problems that occur when you play a DVD in Windows XP
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/308012
    To prevent the illegal creation of digital copies of DVD, information on most of the DVDs are blurred. Your DVD decoder and Windows Media Player have software to copy protection that decodes the information on the DVD just before posting. If this software does not start successfully, you may receive this error. Remove the DVD in the DVD drive and then reinsert. This will force the copy protection software to reset.
    While the DVD is out the disk, make sure that your DVD is clean. If your DVD is scratched or dirty, the DVD player may not be able to read it correctly, and you may receive this error.
    If this does not work, try the following:
    one)
    If you have been able to play DVDs on your computer before and you receive this error message, you may be able to solve the problem by restarting your computer or Windows Media Player.
    (b)
    If you receive this error message the first time you try to play a DVD, you're not a DVD decoder installed, or your decoding software may need to be updated. In addition to your DVD - ROM drive and playback software, you must have a software or hardware decoder to play DVD decoders. devices and their drivers are available from third-party manufacturers. For more information on the software decoders, see decoder DVD plug-in. If you have a plu decoder installed, contact the manufacturer of the decoder to obtain an updated version that is compatible with the operating systems Microsoft Windows and Windows Media Player.
