Droid: How can I get you (UN)?

When I'm done transferring files between my phone and your PC, it seems logical that I would not disable the USB storage (although maybe I'm not understand what that means).  I get a dialog box that says: "before turning off the USB storage device, remember to unmount the USB plug.  ' Select 'disable' to disable USB storage device.  I'm stumped:

1 should I disable the USB storage device?

2. If so, how can I (UN) before they hit the button "deactivate"?  I think that since I mount the USB storage by dragging the USB icon, I could slide it down to remove, but I get the dialog box above.

3. What is the difference between dismantling before turning off the storage?

In Windows you want to disassemble the Droid will have an icon in the notification area of the taskbar to remove the material.  If you right-click on this icon then you will rise a pop with an option in 'eject Motorola A855.  Now click on that and then go to your phone and pull down the notification bar, tap turn off USB storage and then press Turn off.  Now you can safely disconnect the USB cord.  I hope this helps.
