I installed this update from Microsoft (see below). Then, after you type the eight-digit code, I have increased the priority of drvinst.exe via the high Task Manager. It is installed.
I realized that windows was still looking for the driver library expired with the error.

SetupCopyOEMInf cannot create file/copy the .inf to System32\DriverStore\FileRepository files?
When you try to install any device (e.g. USB key) that I don't have a driver supplied, I get the following error message:
"Windows found driver software for your device, but has encountered an error trying to install it."

IF I create the folder and copy the .inf appropriate folder manually, through installation and device is correctly installed. This, however, is too demanding offer. I would like to know how to solve this problem (and maybe what caused it).
Here's what I do in fact (using this key USB for example - any other device that I have not yet installed as for example my old digital camera newly purchased USB hub root fails in the same way and the content of setupapi.dev.log is very similar to above):

- New hardware detected
- Locate and install driver software (recommended)
- .. Search on Windows Update...
- "Windows found driver software for your device, but encountered an error [blaa]...". »
- [Vista leaves the unit with the null driver]
To get the device works, check the log and create some Installer is looking for, repeat the steps above and the device is installed.
I think there could be something wrong with my DriverStore; Maybe access permissions (I put plenty of administrator, system and TrustedInstaller). Is it possible to reinstall completely/System32 DriverStore?

You can retry installing with the anti-virus disabled temporarily to see if it prevents the folder being created.
If this does not help, you can perform a clean boot to see if a startup program is causing a conflict:

I reformatted my system and reinstalled windows 7. At the beginning, I can able to download the updates. But its been so I can't download updates.

updating Win 7 home pre never returns
damaged my laptop so set up another and put my hard drive in it. crashed a lot then found it viper sw virus that was causing problems. Rights user to register with services and drivers problem
I have a computer with a permissions problem in the registry HKLM/SYSTEM. When I try to start some services I get error 5 - access denied. It is the same for the installation of a driver.
I tried to reset the permissions with subinacl to something like FULL - SYSTEM CREATOR OWNER - FULL, everyone - READ. I also tried secedit to restore default permissions. Seen such permissions in regedit seem compatible with an other computers running Win7. The only way to activate from the services was to set permissions on HKLM/SYSTEM to everyone - FULL. Then, the system can connect at least on the network.
The "Access denied" message when you install a driver rest again, when I use Process Monitor I can find some results ACCESS DENIED to create the new key in HKLM/SYSTEM/services for DrvInst.exe process. Process runs under NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM account and the level of integrity of system. I have also some ACCESS DENIED results for files in the WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore hierarchy.
If the problem has been resolved. The cause was the Aztec Media Settings Manager distributed with Softonic downloads malware. After removing this malware, everything works like a charm.

Printer appears in devices not specified
I connected a zebra printer to my Windows 7 machine via a USB port. The printer appears in the devices not specified.
I went there web site and got the latest drivers and install them. The printer appears in the printers section and works very well. However, the printer still appears also in devices not identified and there is no option to remove it. When the printer is turned off to it disappears to reappear when turned on again.
I saw another problem with several items of the same type, but no resolution has been published.I have the same thing with a HP printer that has no Windows 7 drivers. I can easily print using compatible device drivers. I think that if you really need follow this look down in the \windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log file and locate the section where the Plug and Play install fails. Then find a zebra driver that contains the same data HardwareID and install this driver. If the Zebra does not a driver that contains the HardwareID the device sends to the operating system, this device is in the correct state. You can still use the printer, because the spooler service does not require a HardwareID of the device while PnP requires the HardwareID match.

Best installation of the USB driver of practices for non-persistent clones

are there best practices using non-persistent clones and USB driver?
Client A connects to a linked clone and connects a drive USB flash or something else.
The installation of the driver is horrible slow on Windows 7:
- New device found...
- looking for a driver in driverstore...
- installing the driver software...
Tested now and it took more than 8mins.
After installation, the appliance is ready and can be used. But after disconnecting from the desktop computer updates and each driver installation must be run again at the next connection. We have disabled the Windows updates and specified do not search Windows Update for device driver locations. (Policies-> models-> system administration / Installation of devices-> search order specified for the device driver source locations).

Wednesday 16 December 2015 my AVG Internet Security scan weekly all computer has notified me that I had 2 horse of Trojan Inject3/SGL on C:\Users\Administrator\Dowloads. One was FirefoxPatch.exe and the other was FirefoxPatch (1) .exe. I noticed others have problems with the "patches". Please give me a detailed explanation of why it happened and how you ensure that I WON'T receive any Trojan infection in the future. We always clear history run a cleaning disc and run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. FYI, if the explanation is not satisfactory for me, my work, CIT, and my daughter-in-law who is the Cloud Manager Advanced Services of the Web host company; with the guarantee that this kind of problem is fixed or any patch of Firefox will not allow an incident of this magnitude happening again, I will look for a NEW provider of web browser.

Mozilla.org or the web browser Firefox has something to do with this false FirefoxPatch.exe, FAKE Yes.
Mozilla is alone in that Firefox updates internally in Firefox (using a file .mar) or download from www.mozilla.org and www.mozilla.org/firefox/all
Firefox is not only for Windows but also Mac OSX and Linux, so updates are not made through a .exe, especially not those served of sites chosen at random outside mozilla.org.
So-called FirefoxPatch .exe is recent (was showing upward for round 1 1/2 to 2 months now) crooks are used to feed less experienced Windows and or Firefox users to convince them it is an update for Firefox when it's really something that can install the nasty CryptoLocker under Windows if the person starts this fake firefoxpatch .exe.
If its possible you and or someone downloaded this file twice at some point and then forgot about if everything goes well and not actually run this .exe.

Every time I close Firefox 42.0 it leave a firefox.exe * 32 open process. If I open & close Firefox 10 times, I'll have 10 occurrences in the Windows Task Manager. They are always different sizes. Using Windows 7.
Solved. Free Download Manager extension is causing the problem. Disable it and not more than left - open Firefox process.

Firefox.exe APPCRASH associated ntdll.dll, even after clean install
Hello, I have problems with Firefox crashes immediately after clicking on its icon.
Firefox version is 41.0.2.5765, Windows exception code c0000005 (000497e8) the defective module ntdll.dll, version 6.3.9600.18007.
Safe mode, the profile manager crashes too. I tried to do a fresh install which did not help...
After that, I deleted my profile files, deleted temporary files, reinstalled Firefox, restarted the PC - problem persists.Unfortunately no newspaper is registered by Firefox.exe after the accident (folder/APPDATA/Roaming/Mozilla is empty).
PC works fine otherwise.Windows error message reads:

Firefox crash is caused by a problem of compatibility between Anti-Exploit Malwarebytes and Kaspersky Anti-virus. This problem has been resolved already my Malwarebytes sometime there are, but a recent update of Kaspersky AV brought. Can be solved by installing the latest beta version of Malwarebytes (1.08).

I used LizardTech DjVuBrowserPlugin50.exe on my old XP PC and recently tested on a laptop.
My new PC has 64-bit Firefox 41 and using 'install module file' produces a message saying
"This add-on has not been not installed because she seems to be corrupted.The answer is to put npdjvu.dll in the Mozilla Firefox plugins directory, then turn it back on. Open the menu (the right hand of the menu bar icon), and then select Add-ons. Scroll to Viewer DjVu Plugin and change the "Application activation" status to "always enable".
Have had no problems since, while I installed LizardTech Djvu Solo and DjVu Control, which contains DjVuViewer.exe -
