Dual Boot Windows 10 error

Greetings!

I have a MacBook Early 2015 Pro 13 "i5 2.7 GHz, 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB SSD.

I decided to dual boot my mac with Windows 64-bit 10 and I downloaded the file ISO 10 64-bit Windows, and when I tried to use the Bootcamp Assistant to install it, it gave me the following error message:

This is clearly an iso version beyond Windows 8, I'm stumped!

Thanks in advance for all comments and advice!

Can validate you your ISO for the size and MD5sum as shown, using OS x Terminal?

OpenSSL md5 Win10_1511_2_English_x64.iso

Will there be a completely safe way for a dual-boot Windows 8.1 and Linux on a Pavilion 17-e157eo?

I searched the dualboot topics, but solutions do not seem to apply in this case.  Secure boot has been disabled. Quick start has been disabled. In this PC disk partitions are not dynamic but simple.

Starting from a Live Linux DVD results in a blank screen even if the DVD player is clearly read something.  Is the problem due to the fact that this PC has the INTEL 4600 graphics chip and an AMD Radeon 8670 M?

A better solution would be to use VMware or VirtualBox, set up a Linux guest operating system, the host system is of course Windows 8.1?

No problem, glad I could help. If you could mark one of my posts with an acceptable Solution and congratulations if this information was useful, it would be much appreciated and it would be useful to other institutions. Thank you and have a great day!

  • Re: Tecra S11 - Dual boot Windows 7 and XP

I installed Windows 7 (from the hidden to the hardrive recovery section) on my new Tecra S11. I would like to know if I can use the Windows XP
recovery media provided by Toshiba to create a dual boot Windows 7/Windows XP rather than go back to XP?

    Hi dualboot.

As far as I know it of not possible to create a dual boot with XP and Windows 7 Toshiba Recovery disk. The problem is that the recovery disk erases the entire HARD disk, so there is no option to create a dual boot with another operating system.

If you want XP too you need to a normal XP installation disk Microsoft or you use virtualization of Windows 7 XP mode, if some n t applications run on Windows 7. ;)

  • How much better the partition of the HARD drive for dual boot: Windows 8 and Linux

    Hello

I am a newbie in Windows 8, linux, Partition...

I want to use my new laptop with windows 8 pre-installed on the following:

Create a Dual Boot Windows 8 / Ubuntu
Create on my drive C (single disk on my laptop):

    * a partition for the system
    * one for Windows 8
    * one for data and
    least for Ubuntu OS

    My goal is:

-to install VmWare on Windows 8 and run Splat Checkpoint with virtual machines to make the FCTC laboratories.

to install GNS3 on Ubuntu for CCNP Labs but with GNS3 to access the files in the data partition

I have a Toshiba Satellite with 750 GB and 8 GB of RAM.

According to you, what is the best size for my scores?
Is there a better way to partition my C drive on my goal?

    Best regards

I don't know if this is the right section, sorry for that. Feel free to move this thread in the appropriate section *.

I think the size of partitions depends of the you want to use and install other software.
So if you have a lot of software which runs under the Windows System I recommend to choose a larger size to win 8 partition.

However, given that you have a 750 GB HARD drive, you could take 200GB for Win 8, 100 GB to Linux and the rest of the HARD drive size, that you can use for data.

By the way: I found Nice YouTube video how to create a dual boot using 8 Win and Linux http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_Yd2jK-7Jg

Hello everyone.  My computer is adjustable having the dual boot with Windows 7 Pro on disk 0 (320 GB SATA Seagate Barracuda 7200.11) and XP Pro disk 1 (40 GB SATA Samsung SP0411C). As the two systems are available at the start but most all the time Windows 7 Pro would use. The computer is Compaq 7100, WCL PP255US, 3.2 GHZ Intel Pentium 4, 3 GB of ram, Council ch h 0968, bios HP 78 1 v01.05 16/06/2004, chip Intel 915 G Express.  According to the website of Seagate Barracuda 320 GB with (quote), ' he not there no master/slave because every player relationship is considered to be a master in a relationship from point to point.» If two drives are connected to a Serial ATA host adapter, the host operating system considers that the two devices as if they were the two "masters" on two ports separated. Both drives behave as if they were device 0 (master) devices.  On the drive Samsung (SP0411C) I put a jumper for master, it is connected to the motherboard instead of disk 1. Used rider illustrated for Samsung SP0411N since I did not see the SP0411C listed. When selecting information for Samsung Seagate site sometimes showed data for their readers. This is perhaps due to the recent acquisition of Samsung or maybe my mistake.  Tried swapping around wiring of each drive but that didn't work of course. Looked at the settings in the BIOS but did not see a way to create the dual boot.  Please let me know if you need more information. If you know how this can be done or have some suggestions, please let me hear it. As always, thank you very much for your comments.

    Oscar

Hello oscarmint, I checked the specifications of your system and it does not show the system supports two types of hard drives.

The system supports only Serial ATA (Sata) synchronous Maximum 150 MB/s transfer rate

You would need to make the jumper on the Seagate 320 GB Sata Drive pin, set at 150 MB/s.

You are right that the Seagate would not Cable Select or slave settings and it would be the master and only on cable.

If the 40 GB hard drive is a type of ATA (IDE), you'd better put as selection of cables (CS).

  • Remove dual-boot windows partitions 8

Hi, I have a Hp probook 4530 s with windows 7 64 bit and I want to dual-boot windows 8 but I have the authorized maximum of partitions and I bought the recovery disc for windows 7 so I don't no if I should remove the recovery partition or the tools of hp, hp is pretty much empty is only using 1 mb to 5 GB , but I've heard that there a few updates to the BIOS, so safely remove one of these parties (recovery, tools, or both) to dual-boot windows 8?

What I do is get a 3 TB external hard drive, or a size larger than your 500 GB. Create a widnows system repair disc 7. Use Macrium reflect free, all partitions (snapshot of the disk) backup, delete the ones that aren't needed. Tools and recovery are not necessary (but you should keep a copy so that you can go back to where you are now). The first partition contains startup information so don't get ride of that one. But even if you did and only restored the great OS partition, you could always use the system repair disc, do a startup repair and replace the boot on this single partition files and you're on your way again (it's just an extra step).

After you remove the 2 partitions have not yet enough space to install windows 8. Go to disk management in windows 7 and shrink the partition and create a new partition in the remaining space.

  • Dual Boot Windows?

I have a dual boot Windows 7 and Windows 8. I was wondering if I could increase the size of the space of hard disk for Windows 8?

There are 333 GB of space available for Windows 7 and 20.8 GB available for Windows 8.
I would like to know if its possible to increase space for Windows 8?

You must use a third-party tool such as Easeus Partition Master Home Edition - http://download.cnet.com/Easeus-Partition-Manager-Home-Edition/3000-2248_4-10863346.html

This will allow you to resize the boot partition by dragging the button to allocate the extra space for Windows 7 or Windows 8.

Attention, create a recovery for Windows 7 and Windows 8 disk before doing this:

  • After dual boot Windows 7 and Windows 8, get error 0xC004E003 and Windows are not authentic

Hi, can someone help me with this problem?

I bought a new laptop without an operating system installed. Then, I asked for a computer shop install Windows 7. In the properties of the computer system, he showed his & OEM Windows 7 has been activated. I could install Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Live Essentials, which indicates that Windows is authentic. But after that I installed Windows 8 dual-boot with Windows 7, Windows 7 not genuine. Office Tournai black screen and it says: "Windows is not genuine". I tried to download Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and installed. Windows transformed in real dos, but they gave me 30 days to activate Windows 7. The computer shop didn't give me a product key. I tried to find a product key with the product key finder applications. After you enter the product key, it said: "The Software Licensing Service reported that license assessment has failed." - error 0xC004E003.
    How should I do?

You use an Acer OEM slp key on a HP computer.that will not work.

You will need to purchase an authentic ultimate license and change your key or return to windows, your computer comes with that.
OEM SLP: This key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with the special instructions isn't on the hardware of this manufacturer. Then, when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP (in factory) Windows 7 key leans on the motherboard and he sees special instructions and activates
  • Dual-boot Windows and Linux, but Linux has calendar, TB 31.0

I'm using Linux Mint and Windows 7 dual-boot. I have TB 31.0 installed on each operating system. TB Linux has a capacity of calendar; in Windows, there is nothing (by nothing, I mean no calendars - I can't see their properties, for example, access somehow).

I should add that Windows and Linux TB programs share the same profile folder (located on a separate partition), therefore, all of the same modules, passwords, etc.

The error console records the following:

    Timestamp: 14/08/2014-18:41:33
    Error: Components.classes['@ [cid] is undefined
    Source file: resource://calendar/modules/calUtils.jsm-> file:///P:/PortableApps/ThunderbirdPortable/Data/profile/extensions/%7Be2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103%7D/calendar-js/calUtils.js
    Online: 17

There are a variety of flow on the errors related to this.

My apologies for posting this in this way; I intend to submit this via the crashreporter, but I can't get the program crash with this error earlier.

An answer to my own question: it turns out that, while sharing a profile works quite well for most of the cases, with lightning, he does not, like the extension has different versions of Linux and Windows. The problem is solved very simply: by not using is not the same profile for each version.

Glad to see that no one takes on this one (except me, of course).

  • HOW DUAL BOOT WINDOWS 8.1 AND WINDOWS 7 USING UEFI

My laptop model is HP PAVILION 15-n205tx

My laptop is installed with Windows 8.1 and I would be like Dual start with Windows 7 using a cd but when I try, there is an error saying that windows cannot be installed in the partitions selected as it is of GPT format.

Please help me dual boot my pc.

    Hello

I recently installed Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 (boot uefi) on a 17 want without any real problems, to verify the following.

    1. your use of a Windows 7 64-bit installation disc.

    2. in the start of installation, make sure that you select the CDROM (UEFI) as a boot device.  Note:  If you see the CDROM option, always turn off the laptop with Windows 7 inserted disc, start it and immediately typing away at f9 to launch the Start Menu and see if the CDROM (UEFI) option is now listed.

Once installed, you can check if your booting from firmware by opening a command prompt, type bcdedit/enum and press on enter – you should see .efi as a suffix for the startup path.

    Kind regards

  • HP dv6 - 2057cl dual-boot XP install error acpi.sys (alias I must be a fool)

This work bought me a brilliant new dv6 for... Well... work! Unfortunately, it has a 64-bit W7 Home Premium. Frankly, I could care what OS is on it. It's a laptop very well that I didn't have to pay for.

Unfortunately, the program I use 99% of the work day is written and distributed by a company that, for some reason, think the only OS that is used in the entire multiverse is 32-bit Windows XP. They neither acknowlegde that 64-bit OSs exist, that there are other versions of Windows, or that there are other companies that make SOAs. (Which makes me wonder how this business model will work in the future!)

No biggie. I'll just dual-boot XP, right? Use the side XP for work stuff and leave all the other benefits side W7 to play with when I don't work.

I'm just running into all kinds of issues when trying to install XP. Here's what I've done so far:

I shrunk (shrank?) that W7 is installed on and created a 20 GB partition to install XP on the volume.

    I use XP SP3 disc.

First try, I get a stop ACPI.sys error message.

The second attempt I wake drivers AMD SATA with nlite and it tells me that achi64.ini (or is it .sys... anyway...) and the installer fails.

I can get around ACPI by pressing F7 at the beginning of the installation process and I can all the way to choose a partition, but unfortunately the partition I created during the XP installation is not shown.

I'm really at a loss. I'm just being stupid and forget to do something? It is certainly a lot of hassle for a small program, but it's either I get this dual-boot working, or restore this laptop to 'factory' and get one with XP. (Which would be sort of stink.)

I searched a bit here and can't find a solution that fits.

    Any thoughts?

EDIT: When I integrate the AMD drivers with nLite, by thread stickied at the top of the forum I get this error:

    "The file ahcix64.sys is corrupt."

Edit2: Hardware IDS are as follows:

    PCI\VEN_1002 & DEV_4391 & SUBSYS_3635103C & REV_00
    PCI\VEN_1002 & DEV_4391 & SUBSYS_3635103C
    PCI\VEN_1002 & DEV_4391 & CC_010601
    PCI\VEN_1002 & DEV_4391 & CC_0106

After losing 10 CDs, I decided to use Virtualbox. Install XP, application, I need and hits the work test. It works fine, so I'm not bother with dual boot. Too much hassle with this lappy and I don't want to waste any more time on something related to the work for which I am not paid!

Thanks for the reply CherylG, I thank you for the help.
