Dual Core with 2 separate processors in a Satellite A100-599! ??

Hello

My Satellite A100-599 is a Core 2 Duo T7100 2 .00GHz.

In the Manager of peripheral devices, processors, I have 2 CPUs:

Intel Core 2 CPU T5500 @ 1.66 GHZ
Intel Core 2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00GHZ

Is this normal? I wouldn't not two seek T7200 @ 2.00GHZ?

Thank you.

Hello

This is only a bug of Vista ;)
You n t need to install anything from the Intel page.

Just remove the CPU entries from Device Manager and reboot the laptop.
Then the Vista should recognize and reinstall the software and should recognize the processor correctly!

It could be that useful ;)

Best regards

  • Is it possible to upgrade the processor of the Satellite A100-906?

Is it true that I can change my CPU in Satellite A100-906? For example, with Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16 Ghz processor?

    Hello

I think that what John wanted to say is: it is not possible because it s too expensive and you won´t win a really big speed. I Don t know where you read something, but I think that if you were a toshiba technician and would be familiar with electronics and machines, or especially with your machine you won´t have a problem to exchange it.

I already tried to perform this Exchange on my Satellite P20 a few months ago. I can really tell you: he didn t really brings me a speed or performance. By upgrading your RAM or your drive hard, but does not with the exchange of your CPU, you will gain more performance.

And it doesn´t matter what computer you have anyway if you have a Satellite, Satellite Pro, or a Tecra. The result is the same, because the models have all the same components (but not similar material :))

  • Linux distro with which it would work on Satellite A100?

    Hi guys,.
My laptop is Satellite A100-011 and im having problems to choose a working linux distribution. I tried SuSE 10.1, SuSE 9.3 and Knoppix 5.1.1 but none of them doesn't work. Respectively - the first takes too long scan the system, the second goes down while the installation program is running and the live cd knoppix couldn't even managed to load - an error (although I don't exactly know it)
    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

    Hello!

You can try Kubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn. Installation process is quiet easy (but be careful with partitioning, because the default schema can erase the disc). You will not have problems with wifi, because the distribution of a native Intel drivers for your card. If the sound card is compatible with SoundBlaster, must be nor any problem with this, and if not, there are some howtos to turn the sound on the wiki of Ubuntu (Kubuntu is exactly the same system as Ubuntu, but with KDE instead of Gnome preinstalled). Ubuntu repositories contain nVidia drivers too.

Oh, the installation of Kubuntu program sometimes has problems with partitioning manual, but installed on partitions already prepared (for example using another distribution Setup) is a nice solution for this.

    Good luck! :)

  • Cooling fan still works with an average speed on the Satellite A100-405

    Hello guys,.

If anyone can give me a reason why my satellite cooling fan is always running at speed average. I shot all the "Toshiba Power Saver Properties" settings, to "Battery Optimized" condition and so I took the battery, and the pleasure of cooling is still running and operating at average speed. I'm in a place of model (18 Aºc) without any direct exposure to the Sun or heat.

If you can help me about whether or not it is a normal condition. I think that it is not normal to have fun all the time for work. Runs normally for 2 minutes and stops during a similar period (used to be the case in other phones that I had in the past).

Maybe, I need to set or check adjustments internally or in the Bios. I really don't know and I'm really worried about it.

    Thanks guys... Please respond.

Laptop cooling depends on the use of laptops and the applications that run on the laptop.
Strong performance of the software is running on the laptop each part as CPU and GPU produce a lot of heat.
Have you tried to use a material like Speedfan monitoring tool.
SpeedFan is a freeware program that monitors voltages, fan speeds and temperatures in computers with hardware monitor chips

But back to the energy saver. In the eve of power configuration, you should try to the CPU for auto control method and try to change the processor, the speed of processing and cooling method.

Don't forget that there is enough free space around the laptop. It is important for the circulation of fresh air.

  • Dual Core processor problem

Hi, I have an Acer Aspire 5720Z computer ultralight laptop with dual core on windows Vista. By a stupid mistake, I stopped him while he was updating software, so now whenever I try to turn it on, the screen goes black and it does not start.

As it is a dual core, I keep all of my personal information in the D drive (+ photos, docs, etc.), so my question is: if I restore the operating system, are my deleted information even if it is registered in the D drive (not C)?

I hope you can help me! Thank you

    CR

    Hello

Dual-core refers to the processor on the motherboard, not to your problem or your disks.

C: and D: are two partitions on your hard drive Acer; D: as for data on an Acer Acer has a "hidden" recovery partition

And Yes; If you restore / recover (new) factory settings, you will lose all your data, such as C: and D: are removed and reinstalled like new during the recovery operation.

Try a system restore to before that the problem using the F8 method (put your Acer in time, NOT again by reinstalling the operating system) in Safe Mode:

The M60 have the i915 and this chipset is not support two hearts. But some sources on the internet say he's working with some motherboards. It depends of the
    Reference of the manufacturer (Toshiba).

    So... it does not work?

    Hi mate,

Unfortunately, it s does not not since the chipset in this specific machine is not able to manage a Dual-Core processor. A friend of mine has tried, but the didn t of the machine starts. After replacing the Dual-Core with the previous, the machine upward, but since that time the machine started to work unstable.

We don t know yet what could be the problem, but I recommend you do not replace.

The problem is that I have trouble to find this processor because I think it has been discontinued. I do not understand the processors who can I use to replace this one and need my laptop with urgency. Please can you help me?

OK firstly what makes you think that the processor needs to be replaced? Processors to come out once in a blue moon. It is much more common for the defective motherboard and it will often masquerade as a CPU problem.

If the CPU here is one on ebay:

  • Dual core proccessors count to the minimum specifications of Flash Player 11?

The minimum specifications for Adobe Flash Player 11 on a Windows computer, it takes a 2.33 GHz or more fast x 86-compatible processor.  The majoriity of our computers run dual core, or indeed Quad-processors, but each core is less than 2.33 Ghz.

My question is, does the minimum specification of 2.33 GHz apertain for each carrot or this is the total of all the nuclei that is a dual-core 2.25 Ghz = 4.5 GHz processing power, so a 2.25 GHz dual-core would meet the minimum specs?

Another question regarding the minimum specifications, the 128 MB memory graphics must be dedicated RAM or VRAM, or can it be shared RAM?

Works on an i5 at 2.27 GHz processor, try 11.1 on a computer and see how it works.  If it isn't, try the beta 11.2 which can carrots multithreaded.

    No, Yes.

I can't reboot my pc with the device, because I have a black screen. The hard drive does not work,
    and SO does not start.
SO, if I reboot reboot without device, start corretely.

Can you tell me why? and what I have to do?

    Thank you.

    Hello Pippo

I noticed the same thing. If the USB memory key is attached to the unit needs a lot of time to start. Once I wait about 20 minutes, but if I remove the key USB the unit will start immediately.

Believe me, that I tested it with four different Toshiba notebooks and everywhere that I got the same result. I put really know why this is happening but maybe you can try to use the USB hub with own power supply.

Satellite A100 is a fairly new unit and I don t think that there is a problem with the operating system. The fact is that all the USB ports don't external devices of t with the same power supply. Sometimes may happen this work one device on a port USB port but not if you are connecting to another.

As I said, you can try with USB hub.

  • What happens if there is multi-core or Dual-Core coupling processors to the top with Windows 7 Home Premium?

So if I have a Windows7 Home Premium 64 - bit operating system and I use a processor dual core (Intel Dual Core e5300 CPU) are fully compatible or how they work together, given the fact that Windows 7 recognizes that one of the two processors? Playback of the system is expressed in the fact that it has two current processors. Both processors work simultaneously to form a combined data stream is a dormant or they turn on and off opposing to another so that each works half the time? Many scenarios as possible, but I would like to know... the real answer as to what needs to be changed eventually to bring together a system more fluid? My main question is the operating system and the processor may be an incompatibility problem that has not yet been addressed? I can't find any answer in the Center Compatabiity of Windows 7 or anywhere else. Or is the limitation of windows 7 Home Premium and only be able to support an unfounded processor see the fact that there are many systems that are in work today with these components. ?

    Hey Randy,

If your system has two separate physical processors (not hearts) and you are running Windows 7 Home Premium, the second processor is completely ignored. It turns on and turn his fans, but it does not all rights for the computer. Windows 7 Home Premium will not take advantage of a single processor.

However, if you have a single physical processor with multiple cores, Windows 7 64-bit will benefit from up to 256 cores. It is very probably the type of machine that you have because it is quite rare to have multiple processors co-location in a workstation computer.

In this scenario, Windows will use two cores for separate tasks. Applications will be evenly distributed between the carrots, unless the application has been written to take advantage of multiple cores. The two hearts are turned on and both are used when the system is running.

You can check if Windows has recognized the two hearts looking Manager of the tasks of your system:

    1. Open the Task Manager by right-clicking the taskbar, and then click Start Task Manager.
    2. Click the performance tab.

The top two graphs show how much CPU is used, as well at the moment and for a few minutes. If the CPU usage history graph seems shared, your computer has multiple processors, a single dual-core CPU or both.

Windows 7 system requirements also go in a little more detail on how many windows cores/processors can take in charge:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/systemrequirements

Hope this helps to answer your question!

  • What drivers are needed for windows 7 recognize a system with 4 processors, dual-core?

I have a HP ProLiant DL580 G4 with the following CPU specifications:

Four dual-core processors Intel Xeon 7140 M. All of them identical, but the specifications can be found here

I'm running Windows 7 ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise, but the recognition of all the 4 physical processors is a MUST.

I can run windows on it very well, but he acknowledges that 2 of the 4 physical processors.

It seems it would be a driver issue, as Device Manager shows two devices having the status of 'unknown '.

If it is, in fact, a driver problem, does Microsoft have all the drivers available, or shall I seek third party?

I would appreciate any advice you can offer. Thank you!

I hope that someone will know better, but (from the search), so it seems that it only supports two:

    "Computers with multiple processors (CPU):
Commercial servers, workstations and other PC high-end may have multiple physical processors. Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise and integral allow two physical processors, offering the best performance on these computers. Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic and Home Premium edition recognizes only a single physical processor. "

However my AMD Dual - Core Processor E300 couldn't handle files, resulting in "choppy" playback I was wondering if my processor would be better manage your HD files if I the converted to another type of file, ideas or suggestions? And which converter I could use to keep the 1920 x 1080 HD quality? I can't upgrade my CPU, I tried

    I appreciate all suggestions.

This CPU is slower than molasses in winter, it marks a ugly 630 in the test CPU of the pass mark, where a decent CPU would score more 16 000.

Forget it. No way it will work, it's far too slow and underpowered. Get a new PC. It will be same triple DV material, not to mention the AVCHD material. It's like asking your grandma to carry a load of 20 tons up a steep hill, with his 50 year old bike. Can't do.
