Dual VGA-out on Dynadock DVI?

Hello

We recently got the DVI-VGA Dynadocks U10 and got all installed software
In the box has a note saying that with windows XP, it is not possible to define an external monitor to the main screen and then the laptop follow high school

That's fine, but I got a VGA and DVI monitor connected to the dynadock

Is it possible to have the screen of the laptop off and have as primary monitor VGA and DVI as the secondary?
Everything I've tried so far has failed

Have you tried setting to the top of the poster in the Advanced display settings?

I do not know what PC you have, but go to the nVidia/ATI/Intel Graphics Control Panel. You should be able to change the output screen here.

  • DynaDock DVI & recognition on the Qosmio G SOLVED series

I've seen a few threads posing with Dynadock DVI & difficulty. Therefore, what happened to me and how the problem was solved. The monitor in question a Viewsonic VX2262vm.

The Dynadock was a mission to install. Please note the following:

(* a) * on the first installation, Audio drivers failed to install, but the installer says eventually the Dynadock was installed successfully.

(* b) * in the condition above, a USB stick in the Dynadock has been recognized and a green light lit on the front of the station.

    * c) * in the above condition, the DVI port did not work and it was not possible to customize for the extra monitor.

(* d) * I did a complete reinstall. He removes himself, did a bit of re-booting, installs, this time successfully establishing the Audio drivers. Curiously, he asked "permission" to install the video drivers (for the so-called DisplayLink service)-which didn't happen last time.

    (* e) * I rebooted after successful installation - no DVI!

(* f) * I looked in the Task Manager to see if there's a service not started. This is - DISPLAYLINKSERVICE was in a SHUTDOWN State. I started the service manually (although its properties are for the automatic start) and then a lot of monitor flickering occurred. The attached external monitor has been seen (there is no bright front panel for this on the Dynadock) and looking at the Customization screen, he was already in extended mode the resolution of 1680 x 1050 desired.

It seems a bit poor for me I have to go into the Task Manager each time that I boot to start the service, but it's better than nothing.

If any brainio knows the way round this task manually start the DisplayLink Service, I would except that, I hope this note helps the next poor sod who must install the Dynadock.

Very nice post thanks for sharing this with us!

  • M70e Dual - VGA and DVI (Quadro FX380) display adapters

    Hello

Recently, my team received M70e SFF machines with two monitors to work on. These computers for some reason any, that all came with nVidia Quadro FX380 workstation GPU, I installed the drivers for nVidia cards and chips intel integrated (both work fine individually). My problem is that I can't run at the same time, I can only have a monitor works at any time.

Currently running Win7 Pro 32-bit on all machines and have checked the settings of the BIOS for the graphics cards, I get the following options:

IGD (which I suppose is the graphics card integrated due to its activation the VGA only)

PCI/IGD (integrated/regular PCI card, only the VGA monitor works)

    PEG/IGD (integrated/PCIe, only VGA works)

    PCI/IGD (PCI/integrated, only VGA works)

PCI/PEG (PCI/PCIe, only monitor connected to the quadro works)

PEG/IGD (PCIe/integrated, it's that I want to work, but only the quadro works on this one)

    PEG/PCI (PCI/PCIe, quadro only works)

I looked everywhere in the BIOS for all the other options which refer to the screen, but I had no chance.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I did not the ADD2 adapter that works very well alongside the integrated graphics card, may not try with the Quadro as there is only 1 slot PCIe.

It is not possible to have dual display where one view uses integrated Intel and other uses of the Nvidia card. Dual display on Lenovo computers is only possible with the card installed ADD2 (using Intel integrated graphics card), OR if a dual display capable graphics card is used. These dual cards usually have the DB-59 on the back connection and require a dongle to cut two monitors signals. Later maps of ADD - 2 (the one reference you at Compuvest) is capable of a signal only DVI, VGA screens do not work.

See this link HERE for more information. Lenovos of information available for the management of this function is sorely lacking.

  • Use of VGA output simultaneously with DVI output

My system as a Radeon X 1300 video card. By looking at system information shows a primary and a secondary exit. My screen is connected to the DVI output, which I assume is the main. The system seems to have output VGA, which I suppose is secondary. Does this mean that I can plug a VGa device activated in the VGA output and have works simultaneously with the monitor. The specific device that I'm considering is made by VRInsight GPS device for use with FSX Flight Simulator. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello:

You can as far as I know, because I'm doing it now.

I use a video card GeForce 6200 AGP, a 19 "monitor LCD Dell on DVI and a Dell LCD 17" running on the VGA port.

  • The DVI and VGA outputs are contradictory

    Output:

    VGA for monitor

    DVI to TV

Monitor works fine until the DVI cable is connected, then you lose image on the screen and it goes to peak w/out office icons.

    That's what I call starnge!

Try disconnecting the VGA monitor and plug only the DVI to HDTV. What is displayed on the screen?

Lose the image of the screen on the monitor when HDTV is connected should not happen. The image of the bureau only with no icons on the HDTV, indicates that HDTV displays an "extended desktop".

As already said, try to update the driver AMD Radeon HD 4000 Series.

    TlWilliams,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

Yes, that sounds like a video card problem.  Or it could just be a cable or in bulk.  Check the cable that goes from the video card to the monitor to make sure you it is connected at both ends, try change if it is editable, turn off your computer and reinstall your video card (take out and put back) If you are comfortable doing this, or contact who built to allow you to take a look.

  • U2415, a VGA and DVI video card?

    Hello

We recently bought 4 u2415 dell screens for our company's graphic design team, I am a manger IT to my company, but the screen was not given by me and we encountered a problem linking them. The video card has only 1 single VGA port and a DVI port and because of this, I bought several adapters and cables to try to connect these monitors but I still can't get no signal, please help, I'm a little before I sent monitors to the advertiser. For VGA, I bought an active adapter convert it that HDMI port, I connect via dp to hdmi cable and get still no signal. For DVI, I bought a dp cable dvi and im still getting no signal. Please tell me what is wrong and if have a little chance to connect these monitors today before im refer to them.

The cables you bought are designed to go to DP to HDMI or DVI monitor video card. You can't go back.

The U2415 of the maximum resolution is 1920 x 1200 60Hz.So forget using the U2415 DP or CDM. The cheapest solution is this =
Computer video card DVI out-->--> U2415 HDMI DVI to HDMI Cable to

  • Portege R500: unable to connect the remote DVI monitor via Dynadock

    Hello

I just connected Dynadock (DVI) with my Portege R500. The cell would be supported - according to Toshiba - but my experience confirms that Dynadock is not able to access the DVI ports. This implies, that Dynadock is nothing more than the USB HUB.

My setup: Vista 32 company b (CZE edition), the latest patches, Toshiba R500.

Software: latest dynadock software 2.3 c.

Symptom: I can't connect to the remote DVI monitor via the dynadock, there are only two external panels with 800 x 600, but Vista does not allow me to choose.

More information: software Dynadock requires to run without Microsoft Defender, otherwise it blocks the service: DisplayLinkService; file:C:\Program Files\DisplayLink base Software\DisplayLinkService.exe
If you turn off the MSDef, the "error 2738" message appears when you connect the dynadock and when Vista tries to install a missing drivers for you.
Yes, I know the VBS question and the problem is not caused by VisualBasic - VBS "Hello World" runs.

If you think always, Toshiba Dynadock is compatible with Toshiba R500, then press Fn + F5 and look at your logs and you should find something like:
In English: igfxext.exe throws an exception 0xc000000d, offset 0x0000f9f8.

I look forward to the comments, advice etc. If you are able to transmit this bug report to a responsible engineer, do please.

    Hello Leo

As far as I know, Toshiba has not designed for laptops models own only Dynadock and it can be used on every laptop or fixed. Because of this, I think that this statement about model of care is not so important for this problem.

Toshiba provides devices and software. To connect using the USB port, and these ports must each computer or laptop. I hope that you have installed the software by following the on-screen instructions (device of should not be connected to the start-up of the plant).

Is your Portege docked the host or you have connected Dynadock directly in Portege s USB port?

  • Can I connect a VGA cable simultaneously with a DVI cable to a monitor and use the source switch?

I found a similar, but not exact question and I was wondering if I could use the VGA cable AND cable DVI simultaneously on a HP 2159 m monitor and switch back and forth from analog and digital using the source switch on the screen? I noticed that some casual games such as found at BigFish and other gaming sites works best on VGA on DVI but I like to watch movies and other DVI instead of VGA?

I did two HP 2159 m monitor but it could in fact be wise space more convenient to just use the right now and switch from the analog to the digital format.

    Thanks for any response.

    Hello

You will need to edit the video in the monitor source selection when you want to switch.  Don't put it on AUTO.

For a test, connect two monitors and then configure your PC for two monitors. Then, remove the monitor as the secondary (VGA) and now connect the cable to the main monitor VGA port.  Now try the video source selection in the menu of the monitor.  I never tried it on my 2159 m but it can work.

Some monitors do not react to two active flows.

  • TV VGA port - port of the DVI - D computer - help!

I'm trying to connect my TV to my desktop computer. The TV has a VGA port (checked the works of port). The computer has a DVI - D port. I have a DVI - I to VGA cable and a DVI - I to DVI - D adapter. But the connection is not recognized by the computer.

3 possibilities. (1) connection is faulty; (2) DVI port is defective; or (3) DVI port is not enabled.

Asuming 1 & 2 discover fine options, how to activate the DVI port?

You're right... it has a HDMI port on the back labeled ""HDMI / DVI 1"... you must use this port." You must also use a stereo cable separated from 3.5 mm to the sound. If you please see this Insignia 32 '' HDTV manual of your TV. Pay attention to the instructions for DVI sat. TV - box on page 10 and DVD/BluRay on page 13. You want to use these instructions but apply them to your computer as shown on page 8.

"You can use the 1/DVI HDMI on your TV to connect a DVI device to your TV. You will need to attach a HDMI-DVI adapter at the end of the HDMI cable (or a HDMI-DVI cable-all-in-one) that will connect to the DVI device. "Precision added by me.
