  I'm not sure that this is possible and is the reason why I post this topic here (I hope I'm in the right place but I'm sorry if I'm not). My goal here is to improve the memory of the guest operating system from 1 GB to 4 GB and then schedule a reboot after hours before it takes effect on.   Before you begin to install Win7 create recovery (DVD or USB) media and backup recovery image. One day, if you want to have the factory settings once again you can use for installing Win8.1.

  I'm looking to get some practice with the Windows Server operating system (2008 or other).  I came across the downloadable 180 trial period, but I don't mean to create a true server temporarily.  I'm looking to be able to have a completely 'virtual world' where I can actually add devices and simulate connect with different computers, etc.  I want to create an environment of virtual server completely, not the 180-day trial period where I create an environment that can have real computers to connect to it.  Such a thing exists?
