  • Problem starting el capitan (sierra) - built-in keyboard and the mouse do not respond

    Hello

I have a 2015 macbook pro (SSD 256, 16 GB of RAM last el capitan updated) with a wired problem.

I use it mainly to a cinema monitor and I use wireless keyboard and mouse (office installation program), and of course as a stand-alone laptop when I'm not at my desk.

When I put the laptop to sleep, everything works fine when I wake up.

but, if I'm away from the office and I have to restart my laptop, here is the problem.

The boot process is very very slow, there is no edge, and when I finally have the screen to unlock the safe, the keyboard and the touchpad do not react. Actually, that's not exactly true, they are so slow that they are unusable and get caught quickly, all gel. So I can't unlock and complete the boot. My laptop is unusable ;-(

At this point, I get a message that if I forgot my password I just need to reboot by pressing the power button, and I'll be able to reset it.

When I do this and aprΦs the dΘmarrage that more slowly than usual but ok, I get another screen with several options of problem solving. One of them is "keyboard not responding do not. When choosing this one, it asks if you want to remove safe. I tried and everything was back to normal.

later, I delivered safe and I had the same problem again. I did the thing to be able to restart again and improved to sierra in the hope that it would disappear. However, the problem is still there.

I thought I could try to restart my office to see if my keyboard and wireless mouse would still work. Indeed, even if responsiveness was not normal, I could unlock and fill the chest.

I have the impression that my laptop always "believe" it is on my desk, linked to my screen (probably the reason why I don't hear the Bell) and to my wireless K & M.

It's really annoying and I hope someone has a solution.

    Thank you very much

    best,

    Alex

I'm having a similar problem with macOS Sierra which I didn't have with El Capitan.  I can possibly move the cursor on the power button and turn off (no), but I must be patient because the keyboard and trackpad are only for a fraction of a second, which only allows me to move the mouse slightly.  After he stop and start back up, everything is perfect until I tried another reboot, and then I'm back to the beginning.

I tried to reinstall the operating system, reset the SMC, resetting the NVRAM, reboot in SafeMode... nothing worked so far.

  • kernel_task takes too much memory on El Capitan

Hello, I own a MacBook Pro retina 13 inches beginning 2013 (MacBook Pro 10.2) with 8 GB RAM and El Capitan 10.11.6.

I noticed that I have a process in my activity monitor called kernel_task who gets in as 750 MB of my memory, sometimes of 1 GB. It's very embarrassing and I can't find a solution. I've read the 'tutorials' how to solve but is without limitation my CPU like crazy, it takes like 11%... or more (but not 600% as I've seen on other users). Is however very thirsty on memory and I can't kill him or identify the source of the problem. I rebooted my system does everything like in the book, no devices attached. I don't have a heating problem... or at least I don't think. My cooler starts when he needs too.

Also I noticed this process is written (the tab Disk Activity Monitor) as 13.6 Mb on 64-bit (like) and reads 716Kb. What the * happens?
I want that my memory at the back. Can anyone help?
    Thank you.

I say it's normal. kernel_task is the core of the operating system.

This is the Office Mac Pro forum. I asked that your post be moved to a proper forum, probably the EL Capitan forum

  • For 2011 27 "i5 iMac RAM upgrade

I am a professional photographer and maxed out my RAM slots in 2013 to recommended Apple 16 GB (4x4Go)

    Running:

    Mid 2011 iMac

    27 "i5

    4x4GB RAM

    El Capitan 10.11.5

I've seen improvements in high speed at the time, but now things are starting to slow down.

I run Lightroom almost every day, in numbers, reminders, Safari are open, and occasionally other programs like Pages, Filemaker or Photoshop.  I closed most nights of the week.  These last two weeks between the last updates of OS (El Capitan 10.11.5) and updates of Lightroom (6.6), things have been much slower, train and occasional crashes.

The other day I received a pop up on my memory being exceeded.  I emptied the trash, emptied the caches and restarted, but the system is still trolling.

I've read conflicting reports that my model should be able to take over 32 GB, but then I read that the i7 27 "models will support 32 GB.  I also read a swap on my SSD (which I am not qualified to) would thus improve speeds.

Thoughts?  Can I replace my 16GB with new 32 GB?  Just more fresh 4x4GB would do the trick?

Opt for the 32 GB. You can check that the CrucialAdvisory tool, or OWC. Two very reliable suppliers.

Also, download and run EtreCheck, created by one of his own assistants here in CSA. This will help you see if some software is gettingI in the way. It is a diagnostic tool that is very useful for us to find problems. It will also give us additional specifications on your Mac. After his execution after the logfile here. It will never contain any personal information.

  • A Mac Pro 2008 work well with El Capitan?

I found a xeon 2008 8 - core 2.8 GHz refurbished Mac Pro with 32 GB of ram and el capitan as, sold for 600 euros, my question is, if I buy it and put an SSD of 500 GB in it, how would that work? I could use it with a full hd screen? wouldn't be better than the MacBook Air or MacBook Pro 13 inch retina?

With the stock graphics card, 2008 would be poor in app related to graphic design as a recent MacBook Pro.  Difference in litter with a Mac Air.

The 2008 with original graphics card will support 2560 x 1600

Problem with the 2008 (and 2009), is that which concerns the mac Pro line, only the 2010 and later Sierra will run.

Also in 2006-2008 Mac Pro memory run hot and frequently fail with age.  The original of the graphics card, ATI 2600 XT also do either with time.

  • El Capitan forget password WiFi

I own a MacBook Pro 13 "retina early 2015 3.1 GHz i7 16 GB RAM running El Capitan 10.11.5 (currently the latest version).

The problem is that whenever I re - attach a known WiFi system forgets the password and asks me to re - enter manually.

Here is a more intriguing symptom: the issue is not with * every * known network. Just with those that I joined after initially, I transferred my data on this laptop from my Mac earlier, a MacBook Air mid-2012 Mavericks running. Those that were already stored on my previous mac work seamlessly.

"Networks do not forget that this computer has joined" are checked, and I can verify that the new networks are indeed remembered. Passwords are not well.

I tried a few non-destructive solutions, I found on these forums of discussion, such as checking the permissions of various files/Liberti/Preferences/SystemConfiguration .plist (all are root.wheel 644 and last modified dates of some files are right now, so I know that the system can write to these files) and delete and reset some of the stored WiFi networks. But no solution has worked so far. I'm not ready to delete the completely SystemConfiguration folder and the system of re - create from scratch, because my "WiFi" database now includes more than 100 WiFis that I use from time to time, so I don't want to go to the hassle of re - initialize them all again. I am willing to reset the PRAM or re-install the operating system.

I've read dozens of similar complaints, but none match my specific situation. I suspect a file that somewhere may have incorrect permissions, with these permissions are poorly defined by the migration program, but it's just a theory.

Finally, I used so far each MacOSX version and El Capitan is the first one who behaves in this way.

    By/Liberti/Preferences/SystemConfiguration, I meant/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration (automatic correctors, ha!)

  • additional hard drives will not be broadcast - MacPro

    My Mac pro:

    In early 2008

    4 GB of ram

    El Capitan

    2 x 2.8 GHz Quad - Core Intel Xeon

ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB

    500 GB SATA drive

I write this new cause I seem to have lost the original - post not found... Laughing out loud

I installed 2 HD to my PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8), G4 - AGP: 450: sawtooth: 2 GB ram: 2HD, I did as stated by opening the door, remove them, then you place them in the Mac Pro HD bays. Unfortunately neither one will be recognized. Has been used for storage, so there is no BONE inside, just files, but the other was / is a disc master so that's probably the reason why he clung to restart, he got confused about which lead to start with, old or new... there mount Lion

Additional discs for the Mac Pro will I be some kind, ATA disks that do not show.

Mac Pro drives are SATA drives and have a connector two distinctive parts which provides power on the side of 15 pins and data on side 7-pin:

    image of wikipedia

Have you used your Mac Pro sleds? you tighten the screws so that they were all "just tight" and slightly compress the washers? you took care to make sure that disks have been completely recessed in the bottom connectors of basket? Have you had problems to just close the door?

Finder cannot see them?  > > Use Finder preferences to display all readers.

.. .or even though they cannot be seen in disk utility?

  • During sleep and various panic kernel panic / restarts

    Hello world

I got an iMac 27-inch end of 2013 with an nVidia card and maximum 32 GB of RAM running El Capitan, and I had a few kernel panic/restart issues lately. It's not happened to me in some time, but this last kernel panic occurred while the machine was asleep. I had to reboot manually because she wouldn't wake sleep mode and produced this report on reboot:

In addition, I had a lot of problems with the machine crashing and restarting when using the graphically intensive plugins and effects in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere. I intend to contact Adobe on these questions, but I wonder if anyone can see a correlation in the above-mentioned report with some potential problems of graphics card. I'm afraid that my GPU is having problems or if my graphics card will need to be replaced.

    Thank you!

You have created a mess of your system by installing anti-virus software, contact AVG and uninstall their app by their directions. Antivirus, cleaning and other maintenance third party applications are completely unnecessary and tend to create more problems than they fix. OS X is extremely secure and so simply kept up-to-date will work well for years.

Then, ensure that the following requests that use:

    com.nvidia.CUDA 1.1.0

    com AmbrosiaSW.AudioSupport 4.1.4

    com.valvesoftware.SteamInput 3083.39.62

    com Cycling74.Driver.Soundflower 1.6.7

are up to date. If they are of the KP persist uninstall each one-by-by up to termination of the KP.

  • How fast your imac boots?

    Hi guys!

Just interested in how fast your iMac boots (as the minutes and seconds) until your first open application is fully sensitive? I end 2013 iMac 21.5 "2.7 GHz intel core i5, 8 GB of RAM, running El Capitan and it feels long enough. Also after the commissioning of the applications such as Chrome and utorrent open very slowly. After that, everything works fine.

I am curious and just started my Mac, a little old 21.5 inches mid-2010 i - Mac. I was curious because she feels slow to start sometimes, however, I was pleasantly surprised with the Dell laptop, my employer has provided me with (but it is bogged down with a lot of security software). The Mac has a 3.06 GHz core i3, 12 GB of RAM and runs OS X 10.11.6. It is a standard unit of an Apple store close to November 2010.  It took 88 seconds to load the office then another 8 seconds to load a web page. Then I opened the mail and I was 1 min 43 seconds by the mail of synchronized time. It doesn't have a HD 7200 RPM, which helps, but an SSD would be probably faster (I thought to start from an external SSD but the processor is getting pretty old, I can be close to need/want of a new machine). The Dell takes a little more than twice as long. Up to what speed (slow?) your machine starts?

  • mask option does not work in fcpx of color correction

The option of mask in the 10.2.3 fcpx color correction works only intermittently. When I add the color correction sometimes I can move my mouse over the color correction tab in the Inspector and the mask icon, sometimes it doesn't. If I closed and reopened fcpx he comes back for a while and works very well. Don't know what is happening with it.

In rare cases, you must reinstall the application to fix the weird interface glitches.

  • Safari crashes when launching. Immediately.

    Safari 9.1.2

Worked without problems for years. I have not installed the new extensions.

    • Tried a reboot

    • Attempted to launch Safari now SHIFT with the dock icon

    • Cannot keep Safari open long enough to open any menu options or preferences

    • There is no open pages.

    • I deleted the plist file

    • I deleted the cache/history

When it began on Friday, it wasn't quite an immediate fall. I received error messages from a site on "a slow loading flash animation" and "tips" online suggest that I have to uninstall and reinstall Flash. What I did. And, since then, accidents are virtually instantaneous at the launch of the app.

Ridiculous that I can't delete and reinstall only Safari, and I prefer not having to reinstall the entire operating system.

    Other options?

  • Purchase and installation of Logic Pro procedure?

Hi, am about to buy Logic Pro X.

What is the procedure please? I'm new on this!

I want it on my main computer and my laptop also.

    "My main computer: Macbook Pro15" 2015, 2.8 ghz. 1.7 image, 16gbRAM, memory Flash 512 El Capitan 10.11.3

    Laptop: Macbook Air 13 ", 2015, 2, dual-core 2 GHz 1.7, 8 GB of RAM, 256 El capitan 10.11.3 Flash memory

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

    1) connect to the AppStore with your AppleID

    (2) buy Logic Pro X

    (3) download the main application

    (4) when you run the first LPX he will insist on downloading some "core".

    (5) within the LPX, go to the menu of Logic Pro X > Sound Library. ' Either ' Download All Available sounds ' or 'Open sound libraries Manager' to manually select which is downloaded (about 50 GB total) and installed.

If it is possible to enter the installation programs before be unpacked, it is probably easier to simply repeat the process from step 3 on your second Mac.

  • Help! Staples freeze after export. DVD/Master file, that affected both.

    2013 iMAC 27 "o. 24 GB of RAM

    El Capitan 10.11.2 OSX

    FCPX 10.3.2

    Hi all! Help, please.

I'm working on an edit of long marriage. About 1.5 hours long. All clips will play back fine in my calendar. BUT when I export, a bunch of clips "freeze" (IE video stops, audio continues to play). I tried many possible solutions:

-creating new project and collage of clips inside

-creation of new project at a different pace (the images were shot in 29.97, tried exporting 29.97 and 23.98)

-delete the files again rendered rendering and export of projects

-DVD / master file of exports (h.264, ProRes LT) all the same problems of gel experience.

Footage replays in the browser calendar and event without ANY problem.

    Footage was shot on Canon 6 d @ 1080 / 30 fps IPB

Help, please! Thank you very much.

When you export to? Is it the same drive as your original media? How much free space on your system drive?

  • Hard drive to SSD/Fusion - a hard drive disk drive SSD/Fusion

Hello, I own a Mac Mini (end 2012) that to a 1 TB hard drive and 4 GB of RAM, under El Capitan. As you can understand, it begins to slow down... I wanted to know if it was possible to change the HDD pour a Fusion drive or an SSD (may Apple stores do?) or whether it is preferable to add RAM or both? Pour-ins information my computer mainly for watching movies (also by internet TV), text processing, spreadsheets make... Very little treatment of videos/pictures but I wish I could do easily if I need it. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I got a Mac Mini (end 2012) with a tough, 1 Tb, 4 GB of RAM, running El Capitan and it becomes slow... I wanted to know if it is possible to spend my Hard Drive disk Fusion or a SSD (and if the stores Apple could change?), or if the best thing to do would be to add more RAM or both HD editing and adding RAM? I use my Mac mainly to watch movies (and TV on the Internet), using Word/Excel... I don't use a lot of software like PhotoShop, etc, but I would use it without being stopped after every single when necessary change. Thanks in advance!

Thinking about getting more memory would be better 4 GB became slow for me with mtn lion upgrade helped a lot

  • Application/Machine speed

I have problems with 'speed' my computer. I have a Macbook Air (13 "early 2015) 4 gb/ram running El Capitan 10.11.5.

He is often accused. Especially when you use the safari browser (a test on the Internet speed was 7 Mbps down and upwards). If I try to open or close a valve. It takes a significant amount of time, often showing the spinning wheel. I also noticed delays in mouse keyboard and Magic (although minimal, significantly different from the one before) I have:

Downloaded: Bitdefender and Sophos; updated and ran the scan deep - nothing

Disk cleaner - cleaned about 2 gigs of 'tricks '.

I have 200 process that generally run 700 + and son with monitor just Finder and the activity being executed.

In addition, with just the Finder and the activity monitor in executing, the memory used = 2.50 GB of files updated in cache = 1.46 GB App = 1.68 GB wired 840 MB memory

I ran the first disk utility help.

My normal operating programs are Safari, the Pages and Spotify. I noticed when I opened the App Store is also takes more than 20 seconds to display anything. In addition, the App Store application usually I sign twice when I want to buy or upgrade.

These "quants" in normal working range whereas the processes that running Finder and activity monitor?  Are there any ideas you may have for me? Thanks in advance.

    Bechard says:

Using these apps will create more problems than they solve.  Go to the respective web sites of developer for the instructions to uninstall and remove all three of them.

Then download and view a report of Etrecheck.
