If you use Vista Movie Maker 6... It has a scenario...
Your music files will be added to the audio / music...
You can click or drag a file on top of the other to
create a fade.

In Windows Live Movie Maker... you would have to add

  • Cannot add music and narration in movie maker.

Original title: movie maker project on a stall

    good,

I have two projects develop photos and titles laid out with all the fade in/out choices and now I can't add my choice of music, a story and "finish the project" in order to change it.  I had Director 7 on my old laptop and no problems like that.  WHAT ME DO OR NOT DO?  Help!

    Hello

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing.

If you could answer a few questions that would help us resolve this problem:

    1. what version of Movie Maker is installed on the computer?

    2. What is the format of the music files you are trying to add?

    3. do you have a code error message when you try to add music and narration to the project?

    4. the problem occurs with all types of music files?

If music files are Digital Right Management protected, you will not be able to add to the Movie Maker. It might not have to do with the settings but the Movie Maker is not able to recognize the file format of music stored on your computer.

For information about adding narration to the project, you can follow the suggestions from this link:

How can I insert an MP3 of the music on Windows movie maker film?  I downloaded this song three times from Amazon.com... the file is fine.  Yet, when I'm in Windows Movie make and attempt to insert of the song, I get a message saying that the file is invalid or damaged.  The file is fine.  I'm able to import OTHER songs without problem to my film.  BUT I want this song in particular one and can't make it work.

Convert MP3 to WMA format before importing
in Movie Maker and you should have a better result.

There are many freeware converters available on
the net... the following examples may be worth a try:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your MP3 files on the main screen...

    Select "while"WMA"/ OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Here's another free download:

Restore point before installing software or updates)

    (2) Koyotesoft "Free MP3 WMA Converter".

(FWIW if you install the converter, you can
Uncheck offerings from Yahoo and Dealio) (also... you
may want to uncheck the CD Ripper and the Easy
    MP3 Cutter)

After installing the program... open and drag and drop
your audio files on the main screen...

Choose a backup folder (path of output). Or just leave...
"Save to the directory the file" checked and the new
files will be saved in the folder with the current files.

    Choose a format... WMA.

  • Impossible to import music files into wondows movie maker. Help!

Hi, im trying to import some .mp3 files in movie maker (with vista) and I get an error message saying that "it contains no valid audio data" and others that are important, I can't use as windows the song is more than 24 hours, when the song is actually 4 or 5 minutes. Why this is happening and how to fix it?

    Hi r.achtel,

What is the format of the file that is having problems with the length of the song? This only happens with this specific file format?

Please provide the complete error message you receive.

Step 1: You can follow the procedure presented by John Inzer, MVP Saturday, August 8, 2009 17:50 in the link below:

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/vistamedia/thread/8e6841de-4EDB-4AF6-B179-3498b2461f6d

Step 2: Run SFC (System File Checker) Scan

The System File Checker (SFC) utility allows administrators to perform an analysis of all protected resources to make sure they are the correct version. Whether SFC should find all incorrect versions in one of these protected resources, SFC will be replaced by the correct versions.

You can still run a SFC scan on the windows vista computer. To run a scan suite SFC as follows:

    (a) click Start and in the start search bar type cmd, right-click on the command prompt icon in the box programs and then click Run as administrator.

    (b) at the command prompt type sfc/scannow , and then press ENTER.

  • Codecs for Windows 7 Movie Maker and Media Player

Need the codec to read files mp4 WHICH ARE MADE on MY WINDOWS PHONE...

Can someone please direct me to a codec package that contains no software malware or Trojan virus.

    Hello

It's pretty good, BUT you have to look at what you install in relation to 3rd party programs:

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/k-Lite-full.html

    Read this from SnapFiles:

For info: During our review, we found that this program offers to install promotional, third party components. Installation of these components is optional, but you should pay attention during the installation. Read our policy.

    See you soon.

  • Convert files video .mov for use in Movie Maker - how?

I am trying to find a way to convert successfully to my camera .mov files in a format that Movie Maker will support and allow me to change. I found a way to convert a short excerpt of a .wmf (?), but it still does not work. Does anyone can help with an answer to how this can be done?

    Hi Phil!

  • Fake codec for in Windows Movie Maker .mpg

.mpg files import into Windows Movie Maker 5.1; message says I'm wrong codec; do .wmv files work

    • I have recently installed Windows Movie Maker
    • .Mpg files reside on an external hard disk while will be the work of the reader extgernal .wmv files
    • I installed the Microsoft codecs

Here is an article on the import of DVD into Windows Movie Maker: http://www.clone2go.com/tutorials/import-dvd-movie-into-windows-movie-maker.php.  Maybe you skipped a step in the process that may explain why it only works with wmv files.  What I've read, this is not a question of codecs.  WMM simply impossible to import MPG files - period.  You need to convert them to AVI or WMV to work (but I have seen that on a Microsoft site so I don't know how much it is true - but it explains your problem).

  • Movie Maker problem: music stops and the screen goes black

Have loaded slides and music for Windows Live Movie Maker and I'm reviewing before creating the movie.  At one point, the music stops playing, but still slides.  If I stop and move the cursor over a photo and continue to play... no music will play and darkens the display great movie on the left.  Pictures always appear on the right.  Any thoughts?

Maybe it's a compatibility issue with the format of the music file.

The project plays correctly if you delete the file from music/s?

  • "Random selection" for "Transitions" in Windows Movie Maker?

For all that I can tell, Windows Movie Maker doesn't have a 'Random' selection for transitions.  It is this true or am I missing where the selection within the program?

    Hello ugotano,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Forum!

If you are looking for the option on how to change or add the transition in Movie Maker, here are the steps:

    1. on the table of the storyboard / timeline, click the second of the two video clips, titles or images that you want to add a transition between.
    2. click on tools, then on Transitions.
    3. in the content pane, click the transition that you want to add. You can click Play under the monitor to see a preview of what looks like the transition.
    4. click on the Clip and then click Add to timeline or add to the storyboard table.

Here is an article you can do references who will give you information on the transitions:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/add-transitions-and-effects-to-pictures-and-video-in-Windows-Movie-Maker

By default, Windows Movie Maker does not include transitions random, pans and zooms.  Adding Pan/zooms and transitions must be picture.
You can apply the same transition to all the clamps at the same time:
    1. click on the 1st box of transition on the storyboard table (small box between the clips)
    2. do one of the following:
    3 Ctrl + A to select
4 shift-click on the last transition box to select everything in between
5 Ctrl-click the transitional areas to add them to the selection one by one.
    6. right click on the desired Transition and select "apply to the Storyboard object.

    I hope this information helps.
