  My best guess what happened was Thunderbird lost track of your profile (for some reason any) and started with a new clean profile.
  You could recover the existing profile, but since you already took the trouble to recreate your accounts, it is not necessary.

  It's the kind of thing that makes me want to destroy all the computers and go back to the 20th century. My computer is brand new. My virus protection, etc. works normally. I am a novice and do not want to do anything with my computer at all. But I have a collection of several thousand photos and I spend all my free time in order to get them. The order is in no way 'logic', there is no way to keep this collection except move carefully every image in one place. And now, whenever I turn on the computer, the photos appear in the same order and then scrambled a progress bar green that I've not seen before travel the length of the upper part of the screen and then the images become a garbled second order, which has also no connection with that I have established with months of work. What happens here? And how can I back order and avoid that it never happen again, assuming I ever force put in several additional months of work on this?

  Yes.  Open the Terminal app and type the following command followed by the Enter key or return:

  : write com.apple.Safari com.apple.Safari.ContentPageGroupIdentifier.WebKit2MinimumFontSize - int XX

  (triple click on the line to select it to copy and paste into the Terminal application).

  Change the XX to the font size you want as the minimum font by default.

  I'm trying to make the largest font in my list of incoming messages but can't seem to find out how. Can I change my policy of mail, but the button to select the message list is grayed.

  I use the latest version of the el captain on my mac air book.

  Very frustrating that when I make an update of the el Captain all my font size settings have disappeared. Now, can't seem to change it more.
