DV7-3010so BIOS support for 2nd HDD

I plan to install a second hdd in my PC for entertainment of W7 (1 320 GB SATA HARD drive) and I found a shopping cart, the drive I have is 9.5 mm thick and there is a unit of 750Go with the same thickness.

My question is: the BIOS will recognize a 750 GB drive?

Previous books I had been strangled so that it was not possible to install much larger disks.

Yes the BIOS will be no problem. The 750 GB drive will function as a treat. SATA drives are not BIOS limited size as we do with IDE drives. Your laptop last must have been at the time of Windows 2000 since XP Service Pack 2 and Pentium 4 processors (2002-3 or almost) even the IDE drives have used big block (48-bit) and it was not really a limit of size of hard drive, but I'm old enough to remember when 512 megs, and 8.4 GB then 32 concerts then 123 concerts was the insurmountable obstacle.

  • Inspiron N5110 Bios is not supported for Windows 10

I have a 3 years old Dell Inspiron N5110 i5 / 8GB ram/Nvidia with Windows home Premium. Very satisfied with its performance and quality. Today, I tried to book the copy of Windows 10 app Windows10 get. After struggling to make the visible icon in my toolbar, I clicked to the reserve and came up with this message...

I'm running on the last BIOS A11, recent windows updates and drivers and still get it. I have 2 older laptops to about 3-4 years of my Dell and both qualified for Windows 10. Is it me or are there other N5110 users get this? Is there any other BIOS fix for this? Is there an official solution from Dell on this problem? Is there a possibility Dell remedied before July 29?

    Hello

Thanks for joining us. Windows 10 is still in development stage, we ask you to wait for the official release. Make sure that your machine is up to date with Windows updates. We are looking in the message.

  • What hard drives are supported for Satellite 5100-201

    Hello!

My drive is making some strange noises, might he have one foot in the grave...
Have the latest bios 1.9. and the original at 30 GB disk.
Have a Hitachi 40 GB I tried with, but the laptop did not.
So I would like to know what drives and formats supported for this model.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Very strange did you use a compatible 40 GB HDD?
To my knowledge, the laptop must be able to recognize the 40 GB HARD drive.
As far as I know the 30 GB HARD drive that was installed is a Toshiba MK3017GAP and the computer supports a HDD of 20, 30, 40 or 60 GB.

I think that these disc HARD must be compatible:
Toshiba HDD2171B 40 GB HARD drive
HITACHI G8BC00009110 40 GB HARD DRIVE
    Toshiba HDD2183B 60GB

PS: The strange noise from the HARD drive could be the beginning of the end
So make a backup of the data.

  • How can I install the 2nd HDD on my Satellite P200 - 14H

    Hello
I want to know, how can I install the 2nd hard disk on my Satellite P200 - 14H and what I have to buy, because when I open the 2nd hdd slot, so I don't see anything about what I could add the 2nd disc

    Thanks, Filip

    Hello

Maybe you don't see the second HARD drive connectors because the phone does not support the 2nd HARD drive?
Not all laptops even if the 2nd HARD drive Bay is available, support two hard drives.
Laptops come with different hardware and different motherboards, but with the same coverage
So the bays for HARD drives are available, but the motherboard does not support the 2nd HARD drive interface.

    Welcome them

  • Can I install a 2nd HDD in my Satellite P200 - 10 c?

    Hello

I have a Satellite P200 - 10 c that I want to spend with a 2nd HARD drive. I called a Toshiba representative who told me that my model does not support another HARD disk. But then again, why she has a place at the back of the laptop for a 2nd one?

Could someone tell me if it can be used to host a 2nd HARD drive.

    Thanks in advance
    Gerardo

    Hello

What say if they said you model laptop does not support the second HDD while you can not improve with second HARD drive.
The user manual which can be downloaded from the Toshiba page says that this option is only available on several models of the p200 series. But it seems that your notebook does not support!

  • Extreme SSD 120GB - No. TRIM support for Linux later? $150 wasted?

I am a customer of Sandisk's long-term and generally been happy with their products.

My favorite and the only OS is Linux, like the millions of PC users, laptop, Tablet and smartphone world. I'm about to take delivery of a brand new Sandisk Extreme SSD 120 GB. This is my 2nd SSD (the other being of Kingston). I just found this review online (newegg.com) about current support for Sandisk Extreme SSD TRIM for Linux:

"Cannot support a topping on LINUX. I also use EXT4 throw tag in/etc/fstab and it does not work. I sent Sandisk. They said: "I understand that you were not able to activate the TRIM on your SSD 120 GB extreme linux system command. We are sorry for the inconvenience this problem may have caused. »

Then I remember seeing this in own of Sandisk SSD info online:

"Any operating system can be installed on an SSD. There is NO compatibility problem with regard to the operating system. Windows, Mac, Linux, Unix any version or BACK can be installed on an SSD.
Certain features such as the PLATE only are supported in mode native on the latest operating systems such as Windows 7 and Mac OS 10.6 and higher. »

I'm worried. First of all, I have always use the latest version of Linux, continually updated to day and make all the necessary preparations for the maximum performance of SSD (including changes to operating and fstab AHCI). Then my other SSD worked flawless since (installed 6 months ago) news including the TRIM under Linux.

Then I read elsewhere that Sandisk provides no SSD firmware still updates (?). Is this correct?

If so, then Houston, we have a (major) problem. Product not suitable to use? Misrepresentation of product? Inadequate technical support? Incomplete engineering front of dumping on the market?

I might be worrying unduly. Heck, I really hope someone can help me, clarity and TRIM unlimited direct. Can I use my new Sandisk Extreme SSD as my other player, without product development stressful of Sandisk. (Before I drop the fanboys Win7 and Mac, Linux is also valid in the real world like any OS corporate-drone. Heck one day you too could see the light...)

Good news all around. Extreme SSD arrived and installed without a hitch. Also received a number of useful answers E-mail of Support technical Sandisk (thanks, notably, spear, who approached the plate). In short, if you have a recent Linux kernel installed, opt for the filesystem ext4 on both / and / Home. But first of all to be absolutely sure that you have selected the AHCI option in the section of the BIOS of your motherboard SATA mode. (Flashing the latest mainboard BIOS should also help.) So to allow TOPPING Linux offers edit you your file/etc/fstab to include the "noatime" instructions and "throw" in the lines making reference to / and / Home. Save and you should be good to go. So to answer my own original doubts - TRIM is supported for latest Linux OS provided that you follow the installation process. I lose $150? Probably not, but only time and toggle NAND will tell!

  • Support for Satellite L850

    Hello
    Model Satellite L850-Y3110(PSKFWG-00F00C)
my laptop specs are i73630QM with 8 GB DDR3 Ramand Raedon HD7670M graphic 2 GB in 64-bit Windows 10 pro. When I bought it was installed with Win8.1 later I manuallyt updated to Win10.Everything was beautiful graphic is also correct.

Toshiba Web site, I found that my laptop is not up-dimmable to Windows 10. In any case I've updated and it has not come back.
So my drivers are now automatically updated with windows.

But to find the drivers from the Web site of my OEM I checked the Web sites of all the toshiba. But most of them does not recognize my model except this website.
In this site as I'm not getting all the drivers of Windows8.1.Only drivers for Windows 7 is available.

    (1) I would like to know where I can get these drivers. (Win 8.1)?

Please check with my model number before answering because I spent several days for this. Once again tOshiba-India Web site provides only drivers update of the bios for my version.
    (2) so I would know if the drivers of the other model L850 are compatible with my knees?

Now, I will come to the real problem.
IntelWeb site I am aware that my laptop's integrated graphics intel HD4000.
    (3) so, where is it?
But nowhere in my laptop I see this display adapter. I looked in the bios also to see if it is disabled in the bios.
And I found that there is no tab in the bios about the display/graphics.

I tried all the latest drivers from intel for HD4000 and AMD for Redon7670M pilots.
Installing the driver from intel whenever the installer fails. Add device method results in adapter intel HD does not not in the Panel.

    (4) how can I enable (if present) integrated graphics intel HD4000?

    Why I wanted this?
WiDi/Miracast is supported with IntelHD4000 (projecting to another screen)
    Mutiple views are possible.
Fast Sync can be enabled. Which allows a fast encoding of videos
    Switchable graphics can be activated.

Some advised me to try the modded bios.
but it may result in bricking of your device. These website I found that someone has enabled graphics options built into the bios with bios modded for my model. As this file is no longer available for download, I'm here.

  • Satellite C870 - 1 H 2 and support for virtualization

    Hello

    I am (was to) buy a Toshiba Satellite C870 - 1 H 2 (from amazon.co.uk).
The specifications look ideal for me, but at the last moment, I thought to check if VT - x extensions are supported.

I know that the processor supports extensions (as detailed here: [http://ark.intel.com/products/71465/]), but I know also that the extensions are often not enabled (or there is no option in the BIOS to enable them).

The expression "Virtualization Technology" (which is present on other pages of the specification) is clearly absent from the plug laptop here: [http://www.toshiba.co.uk/discontinued-products/satellite-c870-1h2/].
I saw some comments that suggest the Satellite * Pro * series usually provides the support for virtualization, but it always seems to be missing on many current models of Pro's specifications.

I don't know why the C870 would not support VT - x, when we know that his material, but the specifications indicate that this is the case. On the other hand, I found no references to people complaining about the lack of VT - x support.

So my question is, the Satellite C870 - 1 H 2 actually does support VT - x, or not?
(and if not, because it takes just a very small piece of code BIOS, why not?)

    Thank you

    > The same issue applies. These models are supported virtualization

VT support is always depends on the CPU built in Notepad. But you mentioned it in the first post.
According to the page of the Ark from Intel, the Intel Pentium 2020 M processor supports Intel Virtualization Technology (VT - x)
