DV7-4177nr: HP laptop dv7-4177nr Caps Lock flashing solid button wireless

This HP laptop was not start correctly. After some research, I came up on top of the problem LED blink/beep codes and was hoping to use this page.

The problem is, on my laptop, the Verr Maj light constantly blinks and doesn't stop, unlike on the problem page code where it says he should stop to give me an idea of what the problem is.

In addition, the LED light on the wireless key is a solid red color. After several attempts, I can't find anything about a flashing infinite caps lock and a solid red light.

I tried the hard reset, when I remove the battery and the AC adapter and press and hold the power button for a long period of time. I have also reinstalled the RAM sticks. I even took the CMOS battery and replaced.

If possible, would be just a system board/motheboard failure? I heard that if I take on the RAM and try to turn on/off the unit, the unit should beep at me because it does not recognize the RAM, but in my case, it is not a sound signal.

Any other ideas?

    Dear customer,

Welcome and thanks for posting your question on the Forum of Support HP

It seems that your laptop has a blank screen and a blinking/flashing CAPSLOCK all the time

If the Capslock LED flashes 3 times this means "Non-functional memory error", in order to solve the problem, replace the card memory

Note: If you are comfortable open Notepad, you can check how much you have memory module. If you have 2 sticks of memory, you can test one at a time on the two slots individually to check if the fault is with the module module slot or memory memory your laptop [repeat the same steps to test another memory module]

If you find the above steps difficult and that it is a hardware problem and I recommend you contact HP Support by phone for further assistance immediately to get your diagnostic Notebook and repaired by an authorized HP Certified Engineer

  • Pavilion G6 Caps lock flashes constantly but the laptop work.

    Hello!

I've owned my HP Pavilion g6-2292sa Notebook PC (running Windows 8) for about 4 months now and tonight, so I was watching just the net that I noticed that my Caps Lock led flashing continuously, a flash every second. My laptop works fine, and I rebooted to try to stop the flashing, but with no luck. I checked Flash and positions that average hot flashes but mine does not fit in all of this. It is starting, it is not beep just the caps lock flashes constantly. I checked my other lights and see no other spazzing out like that. I'm rather worried because I had to have a new motherboard and HARD drive in a month of purchase. I googled not materialized. Can someone help me please?

    Definitley weird!

Can you check the UEFI environment in F2? Let's see if it happens there inside and outside to win 8.

If it happens again, we can try a hard reset - remove the battery and AC and hold the market for 30 seconds, then plug back in. We can also try a BIOS flash - checks whether there is a newer version or re flash.

If the problem does not occur in BIOS - then you can try a Virus scan / update or restore possible system

  • HP envy 15 t-j100: screen went white and caps lock flashing after update bios!

Update my bios to the latest version via app HP support and after it restarted the screen are empty and the caps lock flashing! What can I do about it?

    Thank you for visiting @omidmiri.

Here on the Forums of HP's Support, you have access to many members of the community with solutions and suggestions to help. I understand that you have a problem with a black screen and the Caps Lock LED flashes after a BIOS update.

The led near the caps lock shift keys and numlock blinks if a fault is detected during the boot process. The LEDs flash multiple times in a sequence and then stops.

Please try to manually perform a BIOS recovery, as follows:

    1. Turn off the computer.

    2. Plug the laptop using the power adapter.

    3. When the computer is always off:

      1. Press on and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time and then press in and hold the power button on the laptop for a second.

      2. Release the power button and the keys.

By following these steps, the BIOS will reach the EFI partition in order to recover the BIOS to the latest known version of the BIOS from the hard drive.

If this does not work, please use the above original document to calculate the number of flashes and troubleshoot accordingly.

    Hi Steve,

Unfortunately, there are many possible causes for this problem, I mentioned the video chip as possible example given the symptoms you describe - you need get the machine examined to ensure.  Failure of a component is often extremely fast, insofar as it works one minute then is not the other.

  • G6 caps lock flashes continuously, nothing on the screen

Hi, I have a HP g6-1325sa had a problem which had to replace the fan.

However since then nothing appears on the screen F12 has an orange light and the caps lock continuously flashes every 2-3 seconds. This isn't a blinking code it does this constantly.
So far, I have tried blocking the vents and leaving the laptop that works for more than an hour, as I've heard can be caused by dry solder joints. I have also tried to replace the motherboard and twice managed to get a cursor blinking on the screen but niether of those moments a normal startup is possible that the HARD drive has been disconnected on both of these occasions, the first time that it happened, I had just disconnected power and battery and power and hold for 30 seconds I'm guessing it's a cmos reset.

the only cause I can think is that the processor is cooked when the fan has been replaced, but who had already paid for another motherboard I would like someone to confirm what it means when the caps lock flashes constantly and if there is another way to fix it.

Thank you very much in advance for any help

Solved this problem where everyone sees the same behavior.

CPU replaced and he started to ask right now, it seems that my predecessor Cook the processor when they changed it is fan.

  • Compaq Presario CQ62-412NR does not start. Caps lock flashes.

The LED caps lock flashes repidadly with long breaks between each blink, the wireless light and constant and the adapter LED is steady. I read blink codes and determined, he was the processor, but the problem persists after him substituting a known good. I finished the resets power to clear the bios before and after the change of the CPU. I also tried to replace the RAM. Anyone here have a clue whats going on?

This looks like a problem with the motherboard if you already replaced the CPU and RAM.

It would be probably cheaper to replace the unit at this time only so, fix it or replace the motherboard.

  • Shift caps lock flashing but the computer usually turn on g6

Just my computer stopped working. I turn it on and it acts like it will start but then nothing. The Caps light is on but nothing else, not to mention that the power button.  All of the suggestions. I took out the battery and you just plug it in and the same thing.

    Hi McGlen,

The caps lock and power button flashing is a way for your computer to tell you that something is from bad material, most likely serious.

Please find below the link to the description of the meaning for these blink error codes:

Please let me know what you find.

  • Laptop is not starting and CAPS LOCK flashing.

    Hello.

I use a laptop HP Pavilion 1125sw g6. The laptop is around the age of 5 months and 2 days ago something strange happened. Let me start from the beginning; I changed the graphic properties of a game and when I pressed 'Make changes', the screen went blank, but the computer still worked. So I turned off (until the battery) and started again, and he went as far as my wallpaper and I have been able to view my wallpaper and all for a minute about and then deleted again screen. I tried to use HP advanced diagnostic tools that arise only when you start, but even with that the screen went white.

The next day, that the laptop has no start, fans were still whirring, but not the BIOS screen came. The CAPS LOCK button flashes at intervals of two, the wireless button is orange, and that's all. Its been like that since. Any suggestions? Please, I beg you! T

    Thanks in advance.

  • Black screen, caps lock flashes on startup

Dear everybody. I know there are already a lot of similar topics, but none seem to portray exactly my situation, so I hope someone will be able to land a helpful hand.

Then. A few months ago I had to move to Japan in my country (Italy). The warranty on my HP dv7 6189 sl expired while I was here, but since my laptop was having really bad cooling problems, I have documented my self with videos and guides to the internet and everything I coul find and decided to take it apart myself. I cleaned all the dust from the fan, the basic form of thermal paste on the processor and the Ati HD 6770. Then again once, back to paying attention to put it all together as it was (HOPEFULLY). Anyway, when I tried to start on the laptop, I found it now black screen guard. The light F-12 (wlan connection) continues, keeps flashing orange (like no wi - fi connection) and the CAPS LOCK. It seems to me it blinks THREE times before stopping a few lil lil and then repeat the cycle again. Anyone know what can be the problem? I'm desperate... Thanks in advance...

    Hello

Based on the codes of following indicators:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01443366

    You must:

    (a) reinstall the memory.
    (b) If you continue to experience this error code after the reinstallation of the memory, the problem may be with the memory itself. Grab the new memory of the computer, put back original memory in the computer, and then test again it.

    Good luck.

  • Pavilion dv6t 7000: failure of the BIOS (Caps lock flashes twice a secone)

My laptop model number is Pavilion dv6t 7000. In recent days, he had a problem. When I turned off my laptop and put it off, the next day I find that is not starting. A black screen, caps lock shift is blicking twice and f12 key is red (WIFI). Nothigs happen. Then, I searched and came to know that it is the failure of the bios. Then I tried some way and nothings worked. ATLAST when I remove the cmos battery it set again after 2 or 1 minute its starts fine. Then againg I turn off the computer and its power day following again the same problem. I was to solve this problem by removing cmos battery and put it again for 4 or 5 days. But today this tip does not work. I tried so many method like (Windows key + B), (byholding down the power button for 1 minute), (Flash UEFI) etc. to solve the problem of failure of the bios, nothing worked at all. What is the problem?  Is this really a failure of the bios? How can solve this problem? What is a dangerous problem? There the chances that my laptop is completely exhausted?

    1. turn off your laptop
    2. Remove adapter a/c, battery and everything that is attached to your laptop.
    3. hold the 'POWER' button down on your laptop for about 10 seconds.

  • Compaq Presario CQ56 Caps Lock flashes

IM has videos in YouTube and its suddenly comed pump white screen and it doesn't have the same response to Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Then I stop it hold the power button / stop. Then tried to start, but then Compaq logo appeared and he reads everything normally press ESC to the start menu, then the following computer to start normally and there are startup of Windows and after a few minutes, the screen goes black and nothing happens. Then I tried to restart and tried to access BIOS and when I was in the BIOS, the screen go black again. Then tried to restart, and this time this lock shift keep flashing. LED blinks 2 times, then there is a small gap and then it flashes 2 times, and the same thing happens all the time. This means that there is a defect in the BIOS? Laptop is barely a few months old. I tried the hard reset, but the same thing happens, caps lock just keep flashing.

Edit: I just noticed there is sometimes not clear even in Caps Lock, just white screen, that's all, and sometimes, when I try to start it the caps lock shows just light, it doesn't blink or something, it's immediately. But usually he binks 2 times and then it is has little spaced and it's same all day. Is totally broken laptop or is there a way to fix it?

Edit 2: Now it is seeing Charlotte 1, then gap, then 1 led, and even continues

Oh my bad, I read wrong. I have read: try to remove the hard drive. In case of failure. But I tried the hard reset, which I said in the first post, and it did not work. But I've already sent my laptop shop where I buy and now it has been send to HP, so no more than problem. Just awaiting, it comes to HP.
