DVD does not recognize disk

I have a Dimension 8400.  The DVD burner is DVD - + RW Phillips 8631.  My computer is about 4 years old.  When I had problems earlier, I downloaded the GD30 firmware and have had no problems until recently.  Now, I get an error message saying for me to "Insert a disc into drive F" (which is my DVD drive) Windows check my say DVD that it works correctly.  The disk in drive F does not appear to be recognized.

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

    do it right.

  • Installation DVD does not recognize my internal HD on a 2008 iMac

I'm looking for suggestions here.  My 94 year old mother has used the iMac 2008 8.1 for internet e-mail.  We needed to upgrade its OS X 10.5 to be able to upgrade to a new version of safari to access some banking sites.  I upgraded the memory.  Sister has an iMac with OS X 10.6.2 Installation/restore dvd 2010.  I went to update.  I have caused the initial problem because after reading info seemed I could create a second partition on the hard drive of 250 GB and use Time Machine to back up before preceding.  See not all the warnings on the addition of the partition. (Yes, if I had not forgotten my external hard drive I should not try that, but I forgot it.)  Things seemed to make the partition, but time machine bogged down and hung up.  After trying many things, I found myself deleting and resetting on the internal extended (journaled) using HD, recreating a single partition using the guidelines GUID, thinking that I could just do a clean reinstall.  BUT, while I can check/fix delete etc the internal disk utility when HD started from my external hard drive so I boot from the OS install DVD it does not recognize the internal HD.   ? ? ?   Gives cannot update this post Mac.  If I run the Setup from the beginning of the disk upward once again, no offers to go to in the installation program.  I can access everything in THE RUNOFF when the post boot drive.

Why THE works on the internal HD of the post start up (which was made with the 10.6.2 installation DVD), but not when started to leave the DVD left me puzzled. The DVD is not just see the it.  When it is started from the DVD with the external drive, he sees very well.   You are looking for ideas, thank you in advance.  By the Way the machine had no problem before starting this :) live and learn!

If I understand what you were doing, you tried to use a Mac installation disc and to update another Mac? Is this correct?

If I am not mistaken, which simply does not work. The installation provided with Mac discs won't work on another Mac, the original installation discs are machine-specific.

  • CD/DVD does not recognize football manager 08

Hello. I just bought 08 but football coach when I put it in my CD/DVD drive on my Toshiba laptop, nothing happens.

I can hear the disc inside it turn around and all that clicking sounds, but the game does not work on my computer.
When I have the game inserted, the driver cannot see that there is a disc, it's as if there is no game inserted.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    Hello!

It looks like that your CD/DVD drive is faulty. I think that this has nothing to do with the game because you said sometimes it recognizes a game or a CD.

    You have a Satellite L300 and L300D?
On my Satellite L300 I never had problems with the driver.

However, have you installed the laptop with the recovery disk or Microsoft? Maybe a reinstall of Windows could solve the problem.
In the worst cases, the disc must be replaced.

I'm really sorry to laugh, but this is a funniest post I've ever seen. Apparently you've damaged the device rom (cd/dvd drive) replace it with a new one. They measure less $ $30 .00usd. Furthermore, placing the old drive in the drive xp will not improve the performance of the computer. Looks like you have some malware. Hello

Be sure to run checkdisk as shown above.

    ---------------------------------------------------

Many files that SFC cannot resolve are not important.

Start - type in the search box-> find CMD in top - click right on - RUN AS ADMIN

put the command from below (copy and paste) in this box and her and then press ENTER.

    findstr/c: "[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > sfcdetails.txt

who creates the sfcdetails.txt file in the folder that you are in when you run it.

So if you're in C:\Windows\System32 > then you will need to look in that folder for the file.

How to analyze the log file entries that the Microsoft Windows Resource Checker (SFC.exe) program
    in Windows Vista
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/928228

This creates sfcdetails.txt in C:\Windows\System32 find and you can post the errors in a message
here. NOTE: there are probably duplicates so please only post once each section error.

You can read the newspaper/txt files easier if you right click on Notepad or Wordpad then RUN AS ADMIN - then
You can navigate to sfcdetails.txt (in C:\Windows\System32) or cbs.log (in C:\Windows\Logs) as needed.
(You may need to search sfcdetails.txt if it is not created in the default folders.)

  • creating Windows dvd does not recognize the music in my itunes library

I'm trying to finialize the title page for a slide show I did in windows movie maker, which includes several songs from my itunes library, but it will not be recognized all my itunes files. It allows me to choose the sample songs in the music folder however. any suggestions on how to add my music?

Windows, be it the media player, movie maker and DVD maker, do not accept MP4 file formats.
Windows do not accept Apple file formats, be it video or audio files.

Here is the list of formats of audio files supported by Windows:

    • Audio files: ".aif", ".aifc", ".aiff", ".asf", ".au", ".mp2", ".mp3", ".mpa", ".snd", ".wav" and ".wma".

Your itunes MP3 Google for an audio converter and change file formats. Then re - import to Movie Maker.

PS You can bypass Windows Movie Maker... as the title of your message create dvd windows says.
Use Windows DVD Maker and add your items directly in the creation of DVD.
You will still need to convert the audio files to itunes.
