  What is dual layer? Do you mean Double layer?

• Satellite P30-145: the drive won't recognise DVD double layer

  I have a Satellite P30-145 with a SupermultiDL DVD player. When I got the PC, I could write DVD double layer with no problems. Now the drive will not recognize DVD double layer at all. Even those from the same box that has worked well before. I use are Verbatim Double layer DVD + R 2.4 x discs.

  After a lot of internet research, I have downloaded and run DVDInfoPro. This application has reported that the Player did not support the DVD + RW DL. Very strange!

  Can anyone help? The drive is a carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ - 831S.

  This disc is certainly DL one, but I can imagine that the drive is defective and cannot calibrate lens in the right position. This model of laptop is more than two years, and if you have used this drive extensively, I can really imagine that the DL function is defective.

  What you can do is to clean the lens and see that it will help.

• Memory problem while building a DVD Double layer

  I worked for several weeks to make a good dvd which is about 8.5Go in Adobe Encore CS5.1 (with an introductory film and several menus)

  But the problem is, after very long transcoding; Adobe still tell me that there is a problem with memory; in fact "insufficient memory, save and exit.." is all I can get :/

  If I've done several searches on memory; subject of flash memory and virtual memory, which one that I got, but it has not changed anything :/

  However, when I deleted some things in order to make a single layer dvd (4 GB); everything worked and the dvd is done. But I need to have this 8.5Go work of DVD Double layer...

  so I really need help; do not hesitate if you think you have an interesting idea or maybe the solution =)

  The maximum limit of RAM addressable for ANY application in a 32-bit operating system is 2 GB. In fact, it is usually about 1.5 to 1.8 before make you it unstable.

  You install 4 GB is not because you can actually and according to what graphics & expansion cards that you have installed the use (and the mobo) you may well make things worse with additional RAM that it leaves no overload for cards.

  This is why it is not supported by MS and has always been.

  It s dependent not portable, it s according to the reader that supports double layer DVD or not! ;)

  To check the properties of your drive, for example with Nero. There you can see what are the types of discs, you can use in this drive.

  I have a toshiba 2450 S203.
  For this laptop, I bought a new writer NEC ND-6650 double layer DVD.
  I took out the orginal, unscrewed the chassis power off and place it on the new. Insert the new DVD burner in my computer, the led starts too burn. Insert a cd in there and nothing happened. Looked in my computer and the DVD player was not shown. Restart my computer and I got an erro: IDE 1 # ERROR. Can someone help me with this problem.

• Sun Virtual Box & Toshiba Satellite L10 - recovery settings problem

  I had a problem with my Satellite L10 and earlier could not get full recovery settings after installing Virtual Box from Sun and ignore warnings from Microsoft.

  I suspect that this has now cloned my drive. Something is very very wrong. I use Win 7 beta in the meantime but want my XP back.

  Virtual Box from Sun is not known to me and I don t know what happened with your installed Win XP on the HARD disk (if you have the OS installed)
  Usually, you should be able to boot the system by using safe mode, restart your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard. Select an option (last good configuration, etc.) when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and press ENTER.
  Check it!

  If you are able to start in Win XP then you can use the System Restore tool and will mark the BONE to this early time until Sun virtual machine has been installed

  What is a "brander DVD/RW?   Support double layer DVD depends on the material.   Try to identify the make and model of the car since the Device Manager and find its specifications.

  SETUP: I created a project in Encore CS5, basically, it's a movie of 2 hours and there are 2 songs in the film. The film consists of 15 chapters. I created a chapter of playlists to listen to the songs. I have three selections of chapter that are configured in the following way.

  SONG1 CHAPTER PLAYLIST-> chapter of a song is added to this selection. The actual number of chapter is 2.

  SONG2 CHAPTER PLAYLIST-> chapter of the second song is included in this playlist. The actual number of chapter is 10.

  CHAPTER PLAYLIST-> SONGS it contains two chapters (Chapter 2 and chapter 10).

  All of the above chapter playlists are linke to their respective button in the Menu of songs.

  : Project Encore CS5 for a DVD (dual layer)

  Menus: I have three menus, main Menu, Menu of songs and Menu chapter.

  Timeline: A chronology (MPEG2-DVD encoded thro first Pro CS5).

  QUESTION: In the Preview mode all the chapter playlist play well and return to the Menu of the time songs that they are played completely. But when the project is built, read the DVD, this is the question I.

  1 SONG1 CHAPTER PLAYLIST (contains chapter 2 only) works very well, played in full.

  2 SONG2 CHAPTER PLAYLIST (contains chapter 10 only) go back to the Menu songs after a few seconds, does not fully play.

  3. all THE CHAPTER PLAYLIST SONGS (contains chapters 2 and 10) play Chapter 2 completely and starts Chapter 10, but returns to the Menu songs after a few seconds (same SONG2 CHAPTER PLAYLIST behavior).

  Please let me know where is the problem and can also let me know if you need additional information.

  Well, that's a problem with jumps of Encore.Encore layer creates a sordid cell to the place where the layer break is applied which once encountered during playback causes the action to end execution.

  To resolve this issue, do one of the following-

  Manual layer jump 1) apply exactly to the point of chapter. (I think that currently the automatic layer break is trying to apply the layer break in Chapter 10). To apply the manual layer jump, in the building Board select thenbuild and manual layer jump. A dialog box to select the layer break will appear. In this dialog box, you can specify the time code of Chapter 10 to which layer break must be applied.

  (2) if above does not solve your problem, try applying manual breaking down images before Chapter 10.i.e. If chapter 10 starts 00:49:55:20, are trying to apply the layer pause at the end of Chapter 9 of 00:49:55:10.This way which you will lose only a few frames of Chapter 9, but will be able to playback of the entire DVD.
