DVD drive won't burn DVDs

I have a laptop DV2000 and although the DVD Player reads and plays CD and DVD it doesn't burn a data DVD.  The properties of the driver are so-called "working properly", but I lost many DVDs trying to burn playlists to itunes.

It could be as simple a problem that do not use white to DVD quality. Learn more about best drives to http://www.digitalfaq.com/reviews/dvd-media.htm

I suggest Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden discs only.

All of a sudden yesterday after burning DVDs my DVD - RW combo drive won't burn a disc. I tried to run the Microsoft patch for CD DVD stuff and he said:

the selected disk is not able to write, if you have multiple CD DVD players try to use another drive, otherwise you may need to install a CD DVD burner to burn with Nero, it says: this device needs a DVD R/W... and the fix format disc, it says the drive is not capable at all.  Also, when I go to the drive in my computer, it shows the drive as a CD drive.  I replaced the Combo drive with a new one and still have the same issues. Help!

    Hi Mkadv,

    ·         Have what Microsoft Fixit you tried?

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: CD-DVD combo drives have two lenses to write CDs and DVDs, respectively. First check with the manufacturer of the computer if the glasses are intact.

    Hello

Have you tried to close all programs and then insert the disc in the drive?

You have disk problem as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (burn CD & DVD and CD and DVD read).
Therefore, it is not unusual for 1 or 2 rooms with not so work that others do it properly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

CD have a tolerance + - and you have to write on the side outside their tolerance. They can be given
However, it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

    Try this troubleshooting:

Step 1: Please make all underneath the same if you've done it before as it's often the total of the process which
    solves the problem.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

  • Encoding and the work of converting very well, but won't burn to dvd?

Hello, I tried many suggestions as well as procedures standard to try to solve my problem, but my dvd will not burn again :(

This (assuming) started after my wife somehow deleted my user account from the computer (HP dv6704 nr laptop), I put a blank disc in as usual (after redo my user account with all the links, etc.) and conversion went well and is attesting that burn is 'Excellent' or well ya know, tried it with my fav ConvertXtodvd as well as factory Windows Movie Maker and says 'burn is good. " , but nothing to do? It is the first time that I had a problem in 3 or 4 years procedures. I tried deleting the upper/lower case filters, startup repair, remove to let drivers update automatic, changed versions of the burner that I use in case of default, etc etc...

I don't know there is something simple that miss me that the cd take very well, please help someone?

Using CCCP codecs (although convertX has no need of em) and threw a po filter AC3... uh, running VISTA HOME PREMIUM (came installed) and the burner is a TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS - 632N ATA Device.

Someone help me please, my little ones like the video I do em, and I do too :)

    Hi jedjoe24,

    ·          You receive an error message when burning?

When you try to burn videos or movie from Director of Windows, use Windows DVD maker to burn to DVD.

    Method 1

Uninstall any third-party DVD burning software installed on the computer and try to burn.

    Method 2

You can try to reduce the burn speed and check.

    1. open Windows DVD Maker.

    2. on the page, share your memories on a DVD , click on choose of pictures and videos.

    3. in the Add pictures and video to the DVD page, click Options.

You can change the following settings in the dialog box Options of DVD :

    ·          DVD burning speed. This option allows you to select the speed to burn your DVD. The default choice for this option is faster. Some DVD burners won't burn at full speed using some types of DVD. If you have problems burning discs, try selecting medium or slow.

Change Windows DVD Maker DVD-Video settings

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-Windows-DVD-Maker-DVD-video-settings

    Method 3

Make sure that the DVD burner is properly connected to your computer and powered, and that all the necessary software drivers for the DVD burner are installed. You can check your hardware settings in Device Manager by following these steps:

    1. click on Startand then click Control Panel.

    2. click on hardware and sound.

    3. click on Device Manager.

Make sure that the video you are trying to burn are not damaged. To see whether the videos you want to burn are corrupted, try playing or viewing with Windows Media Player. If the files do not play with the player, Windows DVD Maker cannot burn.

  • Pavilion DV9008DR Nvidia coprocessor SMU driver won't load

After finding drivers almost everywhere, I met several for the 340 Nvidia nForce / GeForce 6150.  Some are for Vista (from HP), a set for Win7/Vista from Nvidia itself.  All have one thing in common.  The 'coprocessor' remains 'driverless' after the Nvidia installer is done.

Looking at the PCI device ID, is seller 0x10DE (NVidia) device x 0271 coprocessor (nForce System Management Controller).

The driver load without difficulty in XP, but the updated driver won't Win8.

A thought has this load manually through Control Panel Device tool as an update of the driver selected with its .inf file.

It is a driver that this continues to be a complete installation.  If it will not charge, what will be missing.

    Dan-

I do not quite know compatibility mode, but I've done the following with the NVidia 15.49_nforce_winvista_win7_32bit_international_whql.exe driver package that is very similar to sp36079.exe

    1. launch the .exe.  As before, it loaded everything except the NVidia coprocessor driver.

    2. went to the Control Panel Device Manager

3 find the coprocessor and went to properties-> Driver-> update driver.

    4. browse for the file SMU in the .exe 'burst' (including the .inf, .cat, .sys, etc.

    5A accepted.

    6. received the message that this driver installed.

    7. looked in Systedm devices and found nVidia nForce PCI System Management.

8 looked the driver version and found it wasn't NVidia, but Microsoft, Date of 06/21/2006 driver Version 6.2.9200.16384

If something happened, but no idea what it means.  (maybe the driver was already there, but need to Win8 "inviting them to find it?)
