DVD playback software alternatives

I'm putting in place a new Acer Aspire T3-600. I uninstalled the Acer Media programme because I didn't deal with cloud storage, so now I need another DVD reading program.  Does anyone have a suggestion for a reading of DVD priced for this computer program?  I prefer to stay away from VLC or any other maybe-no-legal software, but I don't want to spend $50 or more simply to read the occasional DVD.

Windows machines 8 Acer/gateway that I bought had a more conventional DVD playback software.  I wish I could find something more like this...

Hi AlanH, I usually use Media Acer as a video player to play the video, music and DVDs are also played by the present, you could have a try.

If you have uninstalled this app, you can check if you could find Acer eRecovery Management and see if the application can be recovered.

  • Need help dv4t - remote and DVD playback software

    Hello

I have a new 1400 dv4t that came with Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I did a clean install of Vista Ultimate 64 bit and realized that some drivers and software are missing on the HP website. My remote (it has media player, dvd and volume buttons) does not work. In addition, the laptop came preloaded with some software for playing DVDs that worked very well with my remote control, but I couldn't find any dvd playback software to the HP Web site. Chat and phone support with HP was not supportive.

Someone help me please get the right driver for the remote control and the DVD playback software.

    Hey Buddy

Just a question: what do you want now or what we should do?
I mean it would be interesting to know what operating system you have and where you have downloaded the DVD player. Can you tell us the name of the software, please?

What you can watch DVDs with other software? I prefer VLC media player. This s freeware player and can play a large number of audio and video files.

  • Re: Satellite P200 - no picture DVD playback with the playback of DVD Toshiba Software

    Hello

I usually watch DVDs with the Toshiba software that has been bundelled with my P200 I bought last year.
However, the image is no longer displayed.

Sound is OK, as well as the control system, but the real picture is black.
I thought that the player might be at fault but DVD works fine in Windows Media Player.

All are in the correct region and DVD which I played before without a problem.

    I have tried rebooting etc.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Richard

    Hello

Have you tried to install the most recent DVD player software or update the old one?
    You should do this!

As far as I know the new DVD player tool was released and it s placed on the European driver Toshiba for the download page.

  • Tecra 8000 - need DVD player software

I have an aging Tecra 8000 running XP Pro. It came with the standard DVD player (SD - C2102) I can not read the DVD. After a brief look at the electronic manual, it seems there is a MPEG2 decoder in there somewhere for DVD playback and it came originally with a program of DVD player who took advantage of this.

This DVD player is not on the system and just WMP plays the audio and RealPlayer not playing the ball at all.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

I don't know if DVD software has been bundled with this Tecra8000, but this is not very serious.
In the internet, you will find many freeware DVD player.
The new laptops Toshiba come with a preinstalled WinDVD program.
But you can also use other programs such as PowerDVD.
    Control the internet.

  • Solution for DVD playback choppy on Satellite Pro A100

    Hello!

I had this problem twice on my Toshiba laptop (Satellite Pro A100 bought in April 2006): the DVD used to play very well, but now (perhaps after an update of the driver or installation of software, I not sure what causes this) DVD playback is choppy, distorted sound. This occurs throughout all media players on Windows XP (for example, PowerDVD which came with the laptop) or Windows media player.

I searched the internet far from a solution and finally found how to solve this problem:

Go to Device Manager, select the "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" section, and then select the "second IDE channel", right click and 'uninstall '. (There are two second IDE channels, if you know which then just uninstall both.) Restart Windows XP, Windows XP will automatically reinstall the drivers without the need to download anything. Subsequently the DVD Player reads normally.

The symptoms of the problem, apart from DVD playback choppy, are the "transfer mode" gets stuck on PIO for a reason, and bring back to DMA with no opportunity to spend. I have no idea what software or driver causes this, or why, but if this is your problem too, if you think that this solves.

Cool, thanks for the inquiry and the nice information.
Could be useful to others here in the forum.

  • Satellite Pro M50 DVD playback issues

    Hello
When I got to my laptop the DVD player worked perfectly well. Now, every time I have read the DVD the CPU peaks at 100% constantly, & video skips & freezes & the sound skips & POPs every two seconds.

I am still under my M50 with standard spec, all I've done is upgraded the RAM to 2 GB. The DVD player is a carpet * a DVD/CDRW UJDA770 & I'm running on Windows XP SP2. I have about 8 GB of space on my HDD remaining.

Someone at - it ideas? I searched updates driver for the player, but can not find. I tried DVD playback on the two WMP11 & for the Intervideo Win DVD & I get the same problems.

    Hello

    just a small suggestion:

Clean your hard drive of unnecessary programs and uninstall everything that has to do with reading/Codecs and the like.
Then, reinstall your DVD program and try again.

If this didn t helped you can backup all your data, recover you the system with the restore CD but don t install any other 3rd party software but install "K-lite Codec Pack", then Windvd. After performing these steps, check if it work s.

Work since some programs are should know disrupt a correct reading of certain media such as DVDs.

    Good luck and good weekend

  • Qosmio G40-108: bad quality video/DVD playback

I have new Qosmio G40 108 loaded with Vista Ultimate and am very disappointed with the quality of video/DVD playback compared to the older machines loaded with XP. Seems insipid depth bland, not really the color and not too strong. I tried another laptop of another manufacturer and pretty much the same thing!

What is Vista's fault? You want to try XP but blocks me when I boot with XP disc in. I would like to run the two to see if there is a difference. (Sorry to all if this appears as message repeated hurry but bad touches earlier - starting!)

I don't have a notebook, G40 but I use the Vista OS and I must say that the video and the quality of the DVDs is great!
Don't know what DVD software you use, but I use the WinDVD and Windows Media Player. Two applications provide the same quality.

    > I tried another laptop of another manufacturer and pretty much the same thing!
According to your own statement I don't think that there is something wrong with the Qosmio G40 laptop because you have the same opinion on the other non-toshiba computer.

PS; I wonder why you start always different threads on the same topic:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//message.jspa?MessageID=107067#107067

However, if you wish, you can test the XP if the same phenomenon occurs with other OS.

  • Satellite A660 - 11 m - video DVD playback is quite grainy

    Hello.
Not so long ago, I bought this Satellite A660 - 11 m and I am extreemly happy with it. Graphics capabilities are perfect for my games.
One thing however, I noticed that the video playback is very grainy, especially with the DVD. I tried to use the best software like Cyberlink Power DVD DVD playback.
Is it possible that I can improve the clarity of the video and remove the adhering and afterimage?

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

    Thank you

    Richard

You tested it with the original or some cottages created DVD?
Maybe you checked the first Blu - ray movies and later when you use DVD quality is not very good. ;)

  • update of WinDVD stop Media Player DVD playback

So this one took me by surprise.

I've updated my software InterVideo WinDVD (from 4 to 5) using the update available here on the Lenovo Web site

Now when I open Windows Media Player to play a DVD, I get a message indicating that:

"DVD playback is not enabled for this drive. Click on [OK} to use InterVideo WinDVD Player for playback. "DVD playback... I would like WinDVD to play this DVD. »

So I click OK and the DVD plays fine in WinDVD.  But I want to play in WMP... I like just the interface better.

Any ideas on how to enable WMP to play the DVD?  He played them well until I update of WinDVD 5.

    Thank you

I was so happy that it seemed that Lenovo was trying to solve my problem by posting a new update of WinDVD from their download site:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-56646

The readme file seems to indicate that he would treat my problem of not being able to play DVDs in Windows Media Player.  Unfortunately, it is not not to be.  After uninstalling and reinstalling the new update, I get the same result: WMP is able to read the video but not the audio from the DVD and I get a message indicating that WMP was not allowed to read the DVD I would use WinDVD instead.

So I uninstalled WinDVD, searched my stash of older programs and found one for PowerDVD from CyberLink.  It's an old one (version 4 of 2003), but it did the trick.  My solution is to use instead of WinDVD PowerDVD. WMP plays very well on DVD.

I should have just stuck to WinDVD 4 my system initially provided with, in 1st place, rather than trying to upgrade to WinDVD 5 since the Lenovo download site.

  • Blu-Ray/DVD playback does not

I went through the troubleshooting guide online help, and I still can't my Blu - Ray player to work. He repeats to me I need DVD playback, but I don't know where to get that.

    =========================================
To play a Blu - ray disc... you need a Blu - ray BD player and
decoding software. If you have the BD player...
you already have something like CyberLink PowerDVD.

    I hate windows 8

    ThNKS

Windows 8 is not a built-in method to read the DVD-video standard.  Often, the manufacturer of your computer will include software for DVD playback, but if not, you will need to find your own.  One that seems to work well is VLC Media Player.
