Dx7500 No. DVD decoding program

Hello

I ordered 26 HP dx7500 microtours and began to perform a unboxing them conversion.  I work in a library, and some of the staff asked me on DVD playback on computers since the drive supports.  I have released the computers after you restore Windows XP Professional SP3 computers, but noticed that Windows Media Player 11 complains that there is no DVD decoder installed on the computer.  After some research, I noticed a lot of computers with programs of decoder dvd such as Intervideo WinDVD, PowerDVD or something like that.

I looked through all the discs I received (Roxio Creator Business 10 DVD, the HP/Compaq Documentation and Diagnostics DVD, OS of Windows Vista Business SP1 DVD 1 and 2 DVD, DVD, HP restore longer than the Windows XP Professional SP2 operating system!) Restore DVD and the DVD of Office 2007 software) and has not found a DVD decoding program.

Then, the dx7500 comes with the DVD playback software? I had to install a third-party software (VLC Player) in order for DVD playback working, but would rather have something less complex personnel could use / know (PowerDVD, WinDVD, etc.).

Thank you

Joey Rawlings

Thanks for the help, snake.

I posted the same message in the ITRC forums as well, it seems that HP now offers WinDVD for download. See the link:

http://forums11.itrc.HP.com/service/forums/bizsupport/QuestionAnswer.do?ThreadId=1330804

I'm used to have physical media are provided with computers, but I see that this is not the way more.

Thanks again,

Joey Rawlings

not serious... I am back... I did a little reading and tried to read another cd in the drive and the message came to say "can't play because the dvd decoder is not installed, so I guess that's the problem because I have a recovery * DVD *.» Anyone know where I can find a dvd for a Satellite M40 decoder?

    > can't play because the dvd decoder is not installed
This message appears if you want to play DVD movies with an application like Windows Media Player that has no (plug-in) installed DVD decoder.
Usually the DVD can be played with special programs like WinDVD or PowerDVD for example!

But this DVD decoder has nothing to do with the Toshiba Recovery DVD and the fact your new DVD Player cannot read the recovery DVDs.

To play .mp2v and .dvr-ms files, you must have a DVD decoder hardware or software installed on your computer.

You need a DVD decoder.  Maybe VLC media player will work.  If this isn't the case, you will need to buy a program to read these files (or DVD) on your computer.

  • Deleted my dvd decoder system recovery!

Greetings! My factory original hard drive crashed, so I bought a refurb and reinstalled the operating system by using the system provided by the Vaio recovery disks. When I tried to play a dvd with Windows Media Player, I got an error message that was missing the dvd decoder. I played DVD all the time, no problem, before the system recovery. Why this program would not work now? I'm looking for the dvd decoder. I don't think I should buy one if it came from a factory. If you can help me find my cable box, I would be very grateful! THX.

not a prob, your previous codecs have deserted, draft.exe just a decoder dvd free pack for WMP, google for the choice.

  • Tecra A2: No DVD decoder

I have a laptop Tecra A2 which has been upgraded to Windows XP, all drivers are up to date except when I try to play a DVD in Media Player pop - up appears saying no compatible DVD decoder is installed on this computer.

Is this a driver problem and can I have this free issue?

    Any help well :)

    Hello

I think that you need to install a right codec pack.
I guess you didn't install a MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 codec and therefore it of not possible to play DVDs using the window medial player.

Personally, I prefer the K-Lite Codec Pack Full.
This codec package contains everything that is needed.
Google of this package if you want to download it.

In addition I advise to use free VLC Player.
This player is a free, downloadable tool on the internet.
He plays most of the files and it of really, really great.

  • Does not have Lenovo Slim USB Portable DVD burner DVD or programs

Hi everyone, yesterday I bought a new Lenovo Y50, but when I tried to launch a video game he acted as if there were no disc inside the dvd recorder.

The strange thing is that it turns CDs without problem, but no dvd or programs.

I just bought, so there is no possibility that my pc is affected by viruses or other issues don't related.

    Can someone help me?

Is this just a problem about me being not not good for the pc, should I make a process specific or is - a problem the burner dvd itself?

    Thank you.

Thank you for your answer, but I solved this problem.

I went back to the seller, we tested it and the result is that it is broken.

They gave me a new, and now it works correctly.

    Thank you once again.

  • How to install the compatible DVD decoder on Equium M50?

My laptop is model Equium M50-164 PSM57E-002004AV

After format, I lost DVD decoder.
How can I install compatible DVD decoder?

Can you please explain how you mean exactly and what OS do you have?
You have reinstalled Windows using the Toshiba Recovery disk?

Normally, you can play DVDs with Windows media player and so you n t need additional software or driver.
Also, I prefer VLC media player. This little player can play audio and video files more and its freeware.

If you need a codec pack that you should search with Google K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. It is very good ;)

    Good luck!

  • Media Player11 will not play video (DVD disc). The sound is fine and a DVD decoder was installed.

Where to start... After you download the necessary drivers and also I was able to get my sound work. Then, I bought and downloaded the dvd decoder, InterVideo DVD XPack. When I put a DVD in the drive, Media Player appears and I press play and I hear the sound but I do not see any video!

I tried to download and use other video players, but none have worked so far. Everyone give me reasons why they can not read/play the disc or separate errors. Some have suggested that I change my screen resolution or color quality. I have and nothing makes a difference. Only, I can choose between 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 (16-bit or 32-bit).
